Clockwork Familiar?

Pathfinder Adventure Path #63 "The Asylum Stone"

Equipment: fortifying leeches, spy eyes, and wings of flying, lesser are legal for play; Familiar: The clockwork familiar is legal for play. See the rules and Chronicle sheet download for additional sanctioned content.

So, was looking at The Asylum Stone book's Clockwork Familiar entry. It very notably requires Craft Construct in addition to Improved Familiar.

Is the Craft Construct requirement of the Clockwork Familiar unused? Or is it mistakenly legal for PFS play?

I would suggest using this FAQ.

For the homunculus it says have an NPC make it for you. Notice that you don't actually have to make the clockwork familiar to have it as a familiar. You can assume it is in a shop pre-built.

wasnt there a faq on clockwork familiar ?

Can't say any more.

Also, see this thread from a while back about this very same topic.

Which new book?

There are at least two chronicle sheets I'm aware of that have the "Clockwork Spy" on them being available for purchase. Aside from that, you might not have too much luck in PFS.

Magic Tactics Toolbox. It's got an archetype that gives you an upgradable clockwork familiar. Not sure why he can't say more, given that it's already shipped to subscribers.

Probably because as a VC he's under an NDA and subscribers aren't. NDA's ain't nothing to fool around with.

The archetype that grants a clockwork familiar is the tinkerer (alchemist) in Inner Sea Intrigue

I am so excited to get this book. For this and several other reasons.

If that doesn't become legal the True Silvered Throne Shaman Archetype gets it too.

EDIT:
Huh... Its a slightly different clockwork familiar.

Whoops. That's what I get for reading both at once.
