Basically can weapon finesse work with the plasma blade from Friends Or Foes in Hell's Rebels #4.
I don't have the book. Is it a light weapon or a weapon with the Finesse weapon trait?
It's a one-handed melee weapon, proficiency exotic, it's basically a light saber.
If it's one-handed, and doesn't specifically say "this can be used with Weapon Finesse", then no.
It being an energy weapons is represented by: "Attacks made with a plasma blade resolve as touch attacks."
If you REALLY need to use this with weapon finesse, my suggestion is you buy one sized 1 size smaller than yourself. [-2 hit and drops weapon from one handed to light]
Sure it works with Finesse, as long as you apply Effortless Lace first. :P
Then I guess Effortless Lace it is then, unless we can get the Developers to errata the Finesse in. Thanks for the help.

EDIT:
Red Aton wrote: Then I guess Effortless Lace it is then, unless we can get the Developers to errata the Finesse in. Thanks for the help. There isn't anything to errata. They made it a touch attack instead of making it a normal hit that was able to be finessed. I'm pretty sure they intentionally made it one handed so it COULDN'T be finessed.
As a Touch Attack weapon, it can not use Weapon Finesse. That would be overly powerful otherwise and would open up arguments for weapon finesse with touch attacks in general. In Effect it's more like a ranged weapon with nearly no range rather than a melee weapon.
I DID think of a legal way to finesse it but it's not a quick way.
Be a 5th level Molthuni Arsenal Chaplain warpriest with the feats weapon finesse, exotic weapon proficiency [plasma blade], weapon focus [plasma blade] and Advanced Weapon Training [Fighter’s Finesse].

Weapon Finesse is already usable with touch attack spells. They're "armed unarmed attacks" (and Unarmed Attacks are light weapons, therefore usable with Weapon Finesse).

Bleh, sorry, Friends been having me ready 5th ed rules and they have my brains scrambled, plus was thinking ranged touch attack from a Cha based Sorcerer, Weapon Finesse doesn't work (to my knowledge) and I am likely unfamiliar with instances where it can apply. Can some one direct me to a source on expanded use of Weapon Finesse for ranged touch attacks while I recheck feat description?
Hmmm, ranged touch attack ignore worn armor AC, shield AC, and Natural armor. A melee weapon ignoring all that *cringes* and then adding finesse...
Ranged attacks are always Dex anyway. I think you are very confused.

Sundakan wrote: Ranged attacks are always Dex anyway. I think you are very confused. Ranged Touch attacks for spells though are based on primary casting attribute, which if higher than dex, would make dex the clumsier choise.

Oops, I hadn't noticed that restriction, then again I don't bother with it in my own games.
