Blood Money--Partial component?

Rules Questions

Could a Wizard use Blood Money to cover part of a spell rather than the whole thing?

Without reaching 51 Strength, they otherwise can't use it with things like Wish.

(And yes, I was wondering if, RAW, a pure, or at least level 17 Wizard/3 of anything else could potentially reach that 51 strength.)

Then again, maybe if they can Still Spell Wish.... Probably take a feat to reduce the increased spell level, but then RAW, couldn't they just cast it while paralyzed by having negative Strength?

The maximum score in any attribute for a character who starts at 20 (assuming 18 +2 for race) is a 36. There are ways to temporarily increase your bonus above this, but 36 is the maximum permanent score for a player who starts with an 18 and their race gives them +2.

I'm not 100% sure, but the wording of the spell makes me inclines to think that you have to supply the entire cost.

If you have a strength score of 0 (negative is not possible), then you are unconscious and cannot cast at all.

Cast anyhromorphic animal on an elephant. Magic jar said elephant. Buff spells as you see fit.

Cast blood money + wish (or whatever spell).

You could go higher with Dragon Disciple and Orc bloodline via Eldritch Heritage. Tack on a permanent Enlarge Person or a hat of Disguise, Greater, which provides a constant Alter Self, and you can be rocking a decently higher STR. Oh, then start as an actual Orc.

Dragon Disciple + EH Orc would like a word with you.

20 + 4 DD + 6 IEH + 6 Belt + 5 Tome + 5 CharAdvancement lvl20 = 46 Strg

Edit: had not refreshed - ninjaed by hours...

Magic Jar into some giant or animal, then drain them instead of yourself.

Beast-bonded witch works well for this.

My calculation works for all classes and builds. Yes there are some niches. 36 can work in any stat on any build regardless of class, and you just need a race that gives the right bonus.

That's kind of the point. You don't get to use it with things like Wish.

All or nothing, that's my rule.

IEH does not stack with Tome, both are inherent (if memory serves and I am away from book).

You are correct.

But it doesn't have to be permanent, just temporary, right?

Blood Money is before the spell you cast. So you can't even start the spell because you can't move, you can't speak, you can't move the material component to begin casting. So you can't cast.
