Did they errata the trick that allows you to UMD a Ring of Revelations as an Oracle to get revelations from a different mystery?
Doesn't work. It only allows an oracle to get one extra revelation from their own mystery.
The FAQ explains it, sorry I'm using my phone so I can't link it. UMD could be used to pretend to be an oracle, but not to pretend to have any mystery. If I remember correctly.Spirit guide oracle is a way to gain a single shaman hex from a limited list but from spirits very similar to mysteries. The linked spirit can be changed on a daily basis, but the majorly useful revelations aren't available.

I'm not aware of a FAQ, and the only thing I heard on the topic was the opposite of what you say. You need to have the mystery class feature, but you can pretend to be the other mystery.

If you are looking for channel, Ring of revelation will do the trick.... you will need to use UMD to pull it off, but UMD is easy to get high. @Felyndiira, I had the chance to speak with Mark Seifter at gencon, and his understanding is UMD still works at UMD check -20, as long as you have at least one level of oracle. He did say they would be looking at FAQing how UMD and RoRs interact soon however. They allow for some pretty big cheese.

Here is Mark talking about the subject in his "ask Mark Seifter anything" thread.
On this page
I was able to ask him for a little more clarity while at GenCon but obviously can't link that. The above link does show his understanding however.
The PFSRD cites a comment by James Jacobs, which he later reversed as a reason why UMD and RoR should not work. It should be noted that James is the lore guy not the rules guy and his post are not binding, while Mark's are.

You can do it without "cheese" as long as you don't max out your UMD, the potential is there to get pretty crazy, you don't need to take it that far.
It's only cheesy when you use it to get effective levels way beyond you actual level. A house rule I use is that your effective level can never be higher than your hit dice, regardless of your UMD check.

I was about to suggest VMV cleric but.DAMN.... -6 level equivalent channel?... at level 7... so you channel like a level 1... that is horrid.
VMC usually is horrid. You're blowing 5 feats for abilities that seldom line up with your level at all. [Seriously, a cantrip limited times per day at level 11 for some of these VMCs???]
There are a few corner cases that are actually useful, like a melee Alchemist or Investigator taking VMC Magus, but they are few and far between.

Well, the cantrips are generally usable at will -- but even so they are generally weak options for 11th level characters.
I suspect that, with very limited playtesting time available, they elected to err on the side of making the VMC options too weak instead of too strong. Future changes that beef up weak options are generally far more welcome than changes that nerf strong options, as the debates over recent errata seem to indicate.
