That's not weird.

That's Good.

Folks need to get away from a colonialist mindset of 'taking nice things away from people to save them for bragging rights'.

Looking at places like the British Museum that have historically done this on a much larger scale.

I'm surprised the Egyptian government hasn't demanded the return of Cleopatra's needles, among other things.
One sits in London, the other in New York.

According to Wikipedia, the needles were given to the UK and US by the Egyptian government of the time. It's not like a bunch of Brits and/or Americans went to Eqypt and said "oh, look what we found! We're taking them with us!" I grant that people have done that, but not in this case.

Live snake found in bag of broccoli

I love people's overreaction to snakes. "It's lucky I didn't just leave the broccoli out in the kitchen, or it would have been loose in the house. That would have been a huge risk for us because we have two vulnerable people living here...It's just not good enough — the implications for us if it had [gotten] out in the house are huge."

Um... it's a small, non-venomous snake with a maximum adult length of 160 cm and it's not a constrictor (and this one was in a broccoli bag, so I'm betting around 30 cm). I cannot imagine how it could possibly have been "a huge risk" to anyone, considering it's too small to even consider a newborn baby prey.

EDIT: But then, I'm one of those people who is eternally perplexed by the fact that the four most useful vector control predators on the planet (snakes, spiders, cats, and bats) are the ones we put on Halloween decorations because we think of them as "scary" instead of "heroes".

Still not eating the brocoli no matter how cool you make the prize!

You know what would be really weird news is if someone found a single piece of broccoli in a bag of snakes…
