Warcat Wildshape??????

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

So while looking in the bestiary recently I discovered an animal called a warcat. It's CR thirteen and is basically a huge cat armadillo monster. So as an 8th level druid I'd be able to turn into a 13 CR warcat? That seems pretty OP for those mid levels, I just want to make sure I'm not missing any thing.

Wildshape functions as the Beast Shape line of spells. You therefore would not become a full on CR 13 warcat, but rather something warcat-esque as provided by Beast Shape III. In looking at the warcat, you'd get the stat boosts laid out in the spell, plus grab, rake, pounce, trample, low light vision, scent, and climb speed 20. You wouldn't get rend ever, as wildshape never expands to Beast Shape IV for some inscrutable reason.

Yeah, but Beastshape also confers lots of special abilities. You get the listed Natural Armor Bonus. I'm pretty sure you get Rake, so those 2 Claws can effectively become 4. You can grow to Huge size when you are high enough level. You can grow to Large at lower levels, say turn into a Tiger or something, and medium size even earlier, say a leopard. So you get cool early and get cooler later.

You can Take Feral Combat Training and some levels in Monk with Monastic Legacy, so you will do Monk Unarmed Strike damage with your Claws, or your Bite, if you prefer. You can cast Strong Jaw on yourself and your damage bumps up 2 size catagories as a temporary bugg, or you can take Improved Natural Attack, and it bumps up 1 permantly. Some people say that INA doesn't stack with MUSD, but they're wrong, and I can show you plenty of RAW to back my position, and I'll share with you the arguments I have faced so you will know how to counter them.

Compliments to the OP's moniker, I've designed a pretty cool build around a Druid Wildshaping into a Triceratops.

Is this for PFS? If so then you cannot use it because it isn't available under additional resources.

If No, then as long as your GM allows this book, enjoy you have access to a huge feline form. This is great for Lion Shaman especially as it fills one of the holes in their wild shape ability.

Check out way of the [url=http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2qi1i?Way-of-the-Angry-Bear-3-The-long-hug}angry bear [/url] of more on Scott's post. It is a tons of fun build. Only recommendation I would make is too look at 3 lvl Monk/17 lvl Druid option as well as with monastic legacy you can achieve lvl 16 damage rather than level 20(with monk's robe) if you prefer more spell casting.
