I set to work writing reviews today. I want to apologize to all the publishers that I haven't yet written reviews for products I've purchased or been given. Goal for the weekend is to get 5 done. First up, Mythic Hero's Handbook.

Thanks for the great review, Fig! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the other two mythic books.

Thanks for the review.

Finished writing an in-depth review for Secrets of the Masquerade Reveler on Min-Max Boards, GiantITP, and RPGnet message boards.

Verdant Wheel

I have noticed that nobody has reviewed The Very Last Book About War.

I'd like to compare notes to other "war" books that populate the 3pp scene.

I wrote up a Masquerade Reveler review on Paizo's page.

Thanks Libertad! Secrets of the Masquerade Reveler was a major labor of love for me, since I love fey and I love giving martial characters more options out of combat. I'm thrilled that it's had such a great reception!

I ran an investigation game a few months ago, and the reveler was gathering some great information (a combination of excellent social skills and creative use of plantspeech). Not bad for a barbarian!

It's on my "to buy" list (I'm really looking forward to comparing and contrasting with the Legendary Games products), but my gaming budget is really tight right now (having thrown down for hardcovers and PDFs of the Mythic Mania books, and Kickstarting Legendary Planet), so I can't actually afford it for the moment.

You're that guy who makes all those CharOp Class Guides. I didn't know you wrote Masquerade Reveler until you mentioned it!

I guess you learn something new everyday.

As of now I'm waffling between continuing my Path of War review, or trying to start fresh with another product. This time I'm leaning towards Red Dragon Inn: Guide to Inns & Taverns.

Two years ago on Min-Max Boards I once reviewed the Genius Guide to Horrifically Overpowered Feats based solely on the judgment of its title. I found about half the feats do not live up to the title, and looking back I feel that I was a bit too critical in that a fair amount of them can actually be used to good effect in regular campaigns.

So I decided to do a new review on Paizo, reviewing the parts I found genuinely overpowered vs. the ones which weren't and how they stack up.

Pssst... He's also that guy who got hired on by Paizo as a member of the Design team, quit a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, and has the most unpronounceable simple surname in the history of humanity. Rogue Eidolon is one of us! And one of them, too.

I haven't reviewed anything in forever, and I'm not really good with the whole criticizing people thing, so I'm wondering how I did with Pulpfinder.

Then don't criticize. Give positive reviews of the things you really enjoy and wished more people knew about.

I think I've only given a couple of even slightly negative reviews. I don't tend to bother because it's not like the creators actually care about what I have to b&$~$ about and because I also know a lot of what I don't like is based purely on personal opinion rather than something really wrong with the product.

I did one for the Faces of the Tarnished Souk collection. I'm a bit slow lately. My computer keeps dying from the summer heat so I'm reading pdfs on my tablet and writing reviews at my work computer.

I'm going to see if I can get a review done right now. I've been gathering my thoughts on a particular product for a while, now, and since I'm back from holiday (with only a tablet for Internet) I can get 'er done.

Path of Shadows reviewed. Looking forward to seeing more from Ascension Games.

Thanks for the review, Chemlak! I hope my future products live up to expectations. And thank you to everyone else who has reviewed Path of Shadows and all of the other third-party books out there; I'm sure plenty of 3PP agree that it's always great to see your works appreciated by others.

Masquerade Reveler and Path of War now have front-page reviews on RPGnet. Go check them out!

I *just* found out about the existence of this thread.

To note, my 2 Pathfinder groups and I have purchased literally *hundreds* of PF & 3.5 3PP products over the years. Being such colossal consumers of this niche specialty industry, we should be ashamed of ourselves for not posting more reviews and helping to showcase & proliferate all the wonderful 3PP talent out there. Especially since our PF gaming tables are about 60% 3PP and 40% Paizo in content at this point. So we certainly do have a vested interest in seeing 3PP thrive.

Recently, I've posted reviews for Dance Macabre (4 Dollar Dungeons), Bite Me! Playing Lycanthropes (Misfit Studios) and a few Raging Swan Press goodies. So I'll try to up my game like all of you have. :-) Plus, I'll gently twist the arms of my players to do the same.

Next up, I'll probably be reviewing some more Raging Swan Press products. I have yet to find one I haven't fallen in love with. And I'll certainly try to also wax poetic about some of my other favorites such as Purple Duck Games, Everyman Gaming, 4$ Dungeons, Rite Publishing, etc.

That would be awesome, Crai! Thanks so much!

Ping me if you would like to review: Bite Me! The Gaming Guide to Lycanthropes.

Yes, yes, yes to the reviews. Even a really short blurb is awesome.

Letters from the Flaming Crab: Wheel of the Year reviewed.

An excellent Holiday Season accessory for Pathfinder GMs.

Character Options: Gods in the Void has been reviewed.

If you dig Lovecrafty Cthulu-flavored game mechanics, this one is for you!

Scarab Sages

Stumbled across a copy of Wicked Fantasy by John Wick and Gillian Fraser at the local game store. I found I really needed to review it, as it's rare for me to experience such glorious highs and disappointing lows within a single product.

It is an amazing read, and an unfortunately very poor rules resource. Probably the first game sourcebook my wife and I have ever just sat and read cover to cover.

New Review:

Call to Arms: Cermonial Masks by Fat Goblin Games

Have fun!

Silver Crusade

I have to admit I've slowly been learning about the value of reviews and such, and they're seriously gratifying to see as a writer. From the entirely deserved bashing of the Chi Warrior to the shining reviews for the Kineticists of Porphyra series, I've learned a lot over the past 6 months.

I'm honestly game to do reviews as well, although I have a few more that I owe Storm Bunny Studios, as their campaign setting is hype as hell.

I finally finished reading Rappan Athuk, and a review has duly been provided here. XD The scope of this dungeon is mind-boggling... and it's still not done being made! Now to wait for my copy of the first modern expansion to come in...

I added a review for the Borderland Provinces, by Frog God Games, part of the rather big collection of books I ordered as part of their recent sale. XD I'm now working through Cults of the Sundered Kingdoms, and will be diving into Cyclopean Deeps afterwards. These may take a bit just because they're so big, but I do plan to review everything I ordered.

It took me about two weeks to get through it, but I've finished (and reviewed) Cults of the Sundered Kingdoms, and I'm heading into Cyclopean Deeps now. XD These're shorter books, so they SHOULD go faster...
