Only two more today. I'm at a stack of books where I NEED to read more thoroughly to give a fair assessment. Some things I have a hard copy of I haven't had much of a chance to use, like Companions of Firmiment and Cerulean Seas, because often I have enough trouble just getting a game together and running and haven't gotten around to playing out some of the campaign settings and adventures I plan out, so I don't see it in action enough to quickly make a review. Some things like Interjection Games' Tinker class was bought to fill a niche that got absorbed by other classes (In the Tinker's case Thunderscape classes took over the steampunk realm and LPJ's Machinesmith took over the high technology games.) so I haven't had much of a chance to do much with them.
If anyone is joining in on the reviewing let me know so I can check your review history. As I said, good reviews make it easier to buy things since I have a limited budget

I just want to come in here and say that, both as an author, publisher and customer, I'm highly grateful for all of these reviews! First of all, as an author, even if the book has been reviewed before, hearing another persons opinion helps us understand what was good or bad and thus, in a way, makes the next book better. As a publisher, I can't stress it enough that we're a small publisher, with people doing this because we love it, and when those reviews come in, it helps! Finally, as a customer, there is nothing better than to see what another person feels about a book, even if it is negative, because it gives me something to reflect around when buying.
So, triple thanks!

You're welcome! I also review under the name Jarred C., depending on the website. Some sites don't let me review under the name Bookrat.

Happy to be of service. Only got one other JBE product on my shelf, and I don't think I could actually give it the review it deserves (Book of the River Nations) with my head so wrapped up in Ultimate Campaign, so I'll hold off on that one for a while.
And I've almost exhausted my 3PP stuff. Only got a handful more to do, which I'll try to tackle soon.

Malwing |

Six more reviews today, and I'm almost done with my shelf. After that it's GM stuff, things I never got around to printing and too many RGG products that print out in landscape. This will probably take me weeks, there's a lot of it. This is also where things start to get ugly as I have a long list of buys that I consider a waste of money.

I just uploaded reviews of five of Legendary's Mythic Monsters supplements: the ones I reviewed were 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. These were the first five in the series that had two or fewer reviews prior to me uploading mine. I only uploaded them to Paizo.com, since they were too long for d20pfsrd.com's store and OBS only lets you review products you purchased there.
I firmly believe that it is impossible to compare the value of an RPG book in the short term from its value in the long term. In the short term, you want easy-to-learn mechanics that you can fit into a wide range of campaigns without much fuss. In the long term, you want something that can continue to provide enjoyment and aid to your campaigns for years to come. Ideally, a great long-term RPG book is still useful more than a decade after you get it (whether any Pathfinder books meet that standard is speculative for now, of course.)
Obviously, certain types of products lend themselves to one or the other. An adventure is expected to be better in the short term than in the long term. An interjection games-style class subsystem or a campaign system like mythic adventures has little immediate use, as you have to learn the system first, and then it takes time to put into a campaign.
However, some things are useful in both. An adventure can provide a setting or NPCs which are useful for the rest of the campaign, which could last years after finishing the adventure. A monster can make an exciting encounter in the short-term, but in the long term, it can provide abilities which you can add to monsters you create, or it can be combined with templates and terrain for an endless variety of encounters. The monster's lore can even provide the basis for an entire permanent society in your campaign world.
Going forwards, I am going to be writing more reviews. In each review, I will include a separate Long Term Rating and Short Term Rating. The number of stars entered into the store's interface is the long term rating, rounded off, not an 'overall' rating. I will not leave any 'overall' rating, as that, I believe, cannot be done fairly. I do think the long term rating is more important, since it will affect your campaigns for longer. Ideally, a great long-term RPG book is still useful more than a decade after you get it (obviously, though, whether a Pathfinder RPG product meets that standard is speculative, at least until 2019:D ). However, the short term rating still matters, and I think it should be kept separate from the long term rating.
I also plan on focusing primarily on products which were released at least a year before I review them. There are two reasons for this: first, it allows for a more accurate assessment of the product's long term value. Second, if there are multiple products competing in the same design space, and one comes out a week before the other, the slightly older one should be compared to the newer one, which a review written right when the earlier product is released wouldn't take into account (I'll make exceptions for compilation products, since those are popular among third party publishers).
I was somewhat unsure of how long to make them. On the one hand, making them more detailed could make them more helpful. On the other hand, for most potential customers, each pathfinder product is being compared against other pathfinder products which take up the same spot in the customer's budget and may occupy a similar design space. Hence, being able to compare reviews written by the same person makes them more valuable. This, review length is sort of a double-edged sword: if I put more detail into each review, then each one could be better on its own, but I'll end up writing fewer reviews, decreasing the value of comparing them to other reviews.
I plan on doing the early Interjection Games products without many next, and then gradually work though my library, probably alternating Rite products (of which I have a LOT) with non-Rite products (of which I also have a lot).

Chemlak |

I just re-read and wrote a review for Legendary Games' Mythic Monsters 1: Demons, and there are more to come from me in the near future.
I'm trying to keep to my short comments (as 137ben says, I could write a lot a more in each one, but I'd do fewer reviews), trying to hit the high points and the low points (not that there actually are many of those in the products I've looked at so far!), and give a quick, fair conclusion.

Greetings avid reviewers!
On Jerall Toi's blog there is a sneak peak of some of the content and art assets of Monk Unfettered. For those that post their reviews outside of the Paizo reviews, you are more than welcome to make use of the art assets in Jerall's post in your own reviews.

So, can someone review more of Jon Brazer's race books if they have them. Seedlings were good but I'm on the fence about them.
I certainly wouldn't mind a review of Reapers. I know a few people who are playing them and like them a lot, but I'd still like to hear more one way or the other about my only non-reviewed for-sale product. Masquerade reveler and Ultimate/Imperial Relationships are also cool, but they have reviews so far, and I'm curious what other people think of my little psychopomp planetouched.
EDIT: Looks like Ultimate but not Imperial has reviews, but the review mentions Imperial anyway.

Primarily I wanted to know what was in Book of Heroic Races Compendium because outside of Seedlings, Reapers and Half-fairy-dragons I don't know whats there. I have a number of race books so I didn't want to have too many redundant races. I also wanted to know how good the races aside from seedlings and half fairy dragons were. I also needed some info on how the Advanced races are going since those races are mostly mildly supported and would like to know what kinds of things that line adds. I'm over budget right now so those are sitting in my wish list so I have time to wait for reviews.

Oh, I'm going to give Imperial Relationships its own review, too. I just need to remind myself all about Jade Regent, first. And do a couple of other reviews, too. And prep my adventure. And work.
Damn, it seems I do have a life...

These lives, bah!
But seriously, no pressure. That was meant to show that your awesome review for URel was so thorough, I actually thought they both had reviews from just the one, not to be impatient on a review for ImpRel!

That's 5 more today. (Technically Tinker was 6 books in one package) That's 44 reviews in ten days and marks the end of the books I have hard copies of or printed out and bound. The exception is my two Pact Magic books because that is going through a huge thing right now so I'm going to wait on the final product of it's revision and compilation.
Now that I'm moving on to PDFs I'll be taking a look at a lot of things that don't have reviews at all and some things that I thought I reviewed but did not. If you read my reviews looking to purchase something please read carefully. Sometimes I have five or four stars for things that disappointed me or wouldn't be for everyone and I note why the review is so high despite this because they are good products but I don't want you picking up something with the wrong expectations.

This thread inspired me to write a review of Rule Zero: Underlings over on my blog.
I also transferred the review to the Paizo page. I also submitted a copy to RPGnet for better exposure, and should be up in a few days give or take.
On a related note, RPGnet is the pre-eminent message board community for table-top games of all stripes. Submitted reviews make their front page, so reviewing over there is also a good idea.
On a related note, I plan on doing a review of Path of Shadows next, although I'll need to go through that book again after my first read.

Chemlak |

Ooh, Rule Zero: Underlings is on my list, too.
Probably no reviews from me today (unless inspiration strikes in the next 10 minutes or so), but I'm looking forward to doing a few more, not to mention the week after next when I have a laptop, no real Internet, and a need to occupy my time in the same room as a sleeping child while my family and I are on holiday.
Edit: Inspiration struck. I was chatting with a friend earlier about dragons, and decided to pull out my copy of Mythic Monsters: Dragons, and... well, read the review if you want to know.

I've emailed or PMed some of you but if I've missed someone who's been reviewing a passel of LG products please drop me a line here or at makeyourgamelegendary@gmail.com and we'll be happy to do the same!

For all the reviewers out there, I'd also like to point out that any Legendary Games products that are available in print are also available on amazon.com, and we would be delighted if you could crosspost your review on Amazon as well. It's often hard for small publishers to get noticed there, and every review or rating helps!

Agreed. I undestood it completely. Thanks a lot! I totally agree with the Elven Protector being kind of like a "boss monster" relationship. The Suspicious archer druid PC who had a somewhat little-sister relationship managed to break through to rank 10 early in Part 5, which flabbergasted some of the other characters who were much further back.
Based on your review, you'll be happy to know that once I finish some of my other freelancing commitments, I am planning to work to finish some LG releases for more character options for relationship NPCs! I actually have dozens of them for my own GMing of a Far Eastern Adventure Path, in fragmented sentences and notes "for me" that basically just need me to translate from Mark notes to English. That said, such a translation takes a lot of time.

Went ahead and did so for the Gothic Campaign Compendium since I have the hardcover.
One review today because, well Daredevil season 1 came out on Netflix. I'm sure you can understand.
I might have some more up later today because my home computer is in view of my TV but I'll be highly distracted.

Did it at Paizo, but can't at OBS since I didn't purchase it there.

Btw we have a standing policy of "we will send any reviewer any material they request". If you ever wanted to do a LRGG product and was like, "Hmm- that's like $10... but it's 200+ pages..." just hit us up and we'll send it over to you!
