Interest check for Final Fantasy Game

Recruitment

Silver Crusade

As the title suggest, checking interest for a RPG game based on the following ruleset-

Final Fantasy d6 rules. Thanks greatly to Sir Dust, who spent much effort on this amazing ruleset.

Oh my!!! I love Final Fantasy. I would definetly be interested.

Liberty's Edge

I find this fascinating.

I am interested

Dark Archive

This somehow reminds me of the ASoIF d6 rules which might even probe useful for you if you have them.

Grand Lodge

What setting are you thinking?

I'd be interested in an 11 or 14 setting.

Silver Crusade

setting would be group decision. as in. I'll offer several, and then the player would pick.

Dark Archive

Final Fantasy Tactics, FF11 or FF14 would be my choice, which reminds me I have to level up my disciples of the hand ><

Is five enough interest Rorek? Should we start throwing ideas around?

I'd need to be brought up to speed on those settings as I've not played 11 or 14.
The last game I played to completion was FF10 I've played most of the ones before that and I got partway through FF12.

Unfortunately I don't get much time for video games these days.

FF14 "A Realm Reborn"

It has 3 or 4 main stories.

One per each nation state and the pursuit of their own personal agenda that sometimes collides with the other nations in some points, but they mostly help each other when necessary or convenient. The other main story is defeating the Garland Empire that is trying to conquer Eorza.

Eorza is where the 3 city-states Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, and Uldah are situated.

Gridania: Forest lovers, mostly elves, that specialize in archers, spearmen and healers and they have to deal with a couple of beast tribes that can summon their primals (Ramuh and forgot the other one) to pack a giant punch.

Limsa Lominsa: Sea reavers and former pirates, that specialize in summoners and scholars, thiefs and marauders. They have the Garlean Empire at their doorstep, and also deal withe the threat of two beast tribes and their respective primals (Leviathan & Titan).

Ul'dah: This is where black mages begin their craft, unarmed fighting and sword and board warriors. They have to deal with only one beast tribe (if I recall correctly) and their primal (Ifrit). They have an "issue" with Gridania for encroaching on their territory with a lame excuse that we help you because you aren't able to do it yourself.

Garland Empire is a technologically advanced nation that wants to conquer Eorza but continues to fail miserably regardless of the warmachines they have employed, but they are employing now more sneaky and ruthless tactics to achieve it before going to open war with all 3 citi-states, because they are that strong.

I am very interested

Guess that makes 6 interested and maybe start throwing ideas now?

Silver Crusade

Yeah, 4 is the min (as per FF standards) 6 is OK. Battles will for the most part take place as all battles in FF genre, for simplicity, I will also be using the "back row" rules. Unless we decide tactics is the best way to Go.

I also love FF a realm reborn :P

I was reading the rules, and the equipment section is none existent or something, or how da hell do you buy gear, and calculate damage of that weapon or defense of that armor, just can't make sense of that part, other than that it is pretty simple and straight forward.

I can't check it right now, I do remember the items/weapons/gear were in a bit of a wonky place and proved difficult to find, they are there (unless it has been changed) but if memory serves not excatly where you'd expect, I'll take a look once my CP is repaired.

Page 125. Weapon damage is attribute x weapon tier +2d6. I guess you just buy a weapon tier and decide if you want a Sword/Gun/Rod/Knife?

Dark Archive

I kind of found it, but it's weird there are no rules for maces or axes.

Swords/dagger and scythes get Reliable, Two-handed axes/maces get Heavy Swing, but what about a regular one handed axe or mace?

intreesteed in ff11,7, and 9 the most, have not played 14.

Colour me intersted. I played this before in person, but it was a weird weird game and not fully these rules. So I'd have to review it more. but
totally interested!

Yakno if it's not massively full already.

as for FF worlds.. I only have al ot of knowledge on 6, 3/4, 8, and 11(to an extent) but i'm pretty open on things.
Though magitek is pretty awesome. as are androids
