We have already had quite a few successful trade opportunities up on our mountain and I would like to have more of them in the future. If you are in need of +2 gear send me a pm and we will start working out a deal. We are also willing to trade raw materials and recipes.
I do recommend that if you are coming up the mountain to train you announce yourself pretty loudly to avoid the murder hobos that live in the bushes.

I would say the SOCIETY is free to choose not the individual.
If the individual gets to pick and choose which laws to obey and which ones are "out of date" or "irrelevant" (the way real world religious fundamentalist fanatics do) then its not Lawful Evil but actually Chaotic Evil masquerading as lawful for its own benefit.

People always forget about the "lawful" part of "lawful evil".
Just make sure that your trade contract specifically stipulates that you will be allowed to leave the territory unmolested and with all your possessions AFTER the trade as well. Otherwise, after the lawful deal is completed, the evil part will gladly rob the shiny coins you just received off your husk...

If we made deals like that, people would stop wanting to trade. now, if you left them came back without intent to trade..that's another story.

I too have made a satisfactory deal with Golgotha, without being molested, after the correct procedures of diplomacy were followed. :)
Though I think a Dwarf called Gringit was looking at me sideways.....
He was a "red shirt" still though, so I wasn't too worried. ;)
Thanks, Phyllain, for the trade.

Company name, and preferably also Settlement should appear below a characters name if you check them. I hope this is implemented soon, since these are simple but important tools for communication in this social game.
Right now, everyone is a stranger that can totally lie about their affiliations.
Though you could check their claims of belonging to a certain company, with the Search Company tab. But this sort of thing should be instant.

Even the search company tab doesn't work foolproof. At the moment you can scroll in the leader box - but you can't scroll in the member box. So you only see the top 5 or 6 in alphabetical order.
I know because I can't even tell which accounts from my family joined and which haven't as I didn't do book-keeping.
