I'm having trouble placing an order. I want to buy some old Dungeon and Dragon Magazines (in hard copy) and have them ship to Australia.
It's been 2 years since my last non-PDF order here, so the Paizo ordering screens have definitely changed since then.
My issue is the only shipping option I can see for the order is US Priority Mail. That has a very short shipping time but, quite understandably, is very expensive.
Are there other shipping options available to me? If so, how do I select them?
When I click on the button for US Priority Shipping something loads on the page (a loading icon comes up on screen), but it goes away after a few seconds and nothing seems to change.
So, I still can't see any other shipping options. I'm not sure if this is related to the shopping cart issues others seem to be having during the Great Golem Sale, if I'm missing a button I should be pushing to get other options, or if there really is only one shipping options available to me.
I would have thought that USPS First-Class International Service or USPS International Surface Air Lift would be available as slower, but cheaper options. I remember having multiple shipping options in the past.
Anyone at Paizo able to help?

I'm in Australia as well & I canned an order for $100 worth of books because the shipping was $135. It wouldn't let me select anything other that the priority mail.

A few years ago, the USPS removed surface mail as an option, and weight limits on the remaining services have been set so that parcels weighing more than 4 pounds have to ship via International Priority as a minimum.
We've made our system smart enough to break up large orders into multiple boxes anytime that will save on postage, but since the Core Rulebook by itself weighs 4.2 pounds, there really is no lower-cost option shipping option available to us for Core Rulebooks.
(We have looked at non-USPS services as well, and have not yet found anything even *close* to Priority Mail in price.)
...Priority Mail is the only option for international packages weighing over 4 pounds. That said, the check-out system has been kind of wonky lately and it seems like you'd have to have ordered quite a few magazines to make up 4 pounds, so you might ask Customer Service to check the weight of the proposed package. They've been buried here lately (due largely to the above-referenced wonky check-outs), however, so you might have to wait a while.
Also, Customer Service works from the bottom of the thread to the top, so every time you bump the thread, you put yourself farther back in the queue.

I've done a little extra poking on yours (since your order is fairly small, and it seemed like something was amiss). It looks like it should be able to ship into two packages going standard post. I've gone ahead and submitted them (but left them suspended until you have a chance to review and approve them).
They should be on your account as order 3323336 and 3040783. Please let us know if you want them or not, or want to make can changes, and we'll get things processed either way from there.

The system calculates orders to go using the cheapest method. In some cases, that is multiple packages going standard post. Usually, the system is supposed to be smart enough to calculate multiple smaller packages on it's own, but sometimes it has been having trouble with that. If you're placing a smaller order, and it seems like the shipping is high, we are happy to take a look.
That said, if you are placing a larger order, it probably is, in fact, cheapest to send it in one box going Priority. From what I can tell right now, it looks like the weight benchmark for Priority being cheapest is probably anything that's more than about 10-12 pounds of product. Which, on some of the larger sale order than have been placed, they have hit that weight pretty quickly.
I find the checkout process extremely frustrating too because of the lacking transparency of the calculated shipping costs.

From looking at the 2 suspended orders you have processed for me, the postage costs for 2 packages sent via standard post is less than half the cost of the single priorty mail package (about $30 vs $63 from memory). So it's definitely cheaper (but slower) for me to ship via standard post for this order.
There may be a few more books/magazines that I want to add to the order. So I'll review what I've ordered, add any additional items I would like to my shopping cart and confirm in this thread when I have finalised my order.
Unless you would prefer I made any additions to the order via email? In which case, what is the best address to send any additions to?
I also would like to change the shipping address for the orders. I saw that I could do it myself, but I was worried that it might mess up the shipping option you have chosen, so I just left it for you to change manually.
Can you please ship the orders to the address that starts with Level 6, State...
The new address is also in Australia so it shouldn't impact shipping costs at all.

Can you please remove Dragon #355 from Order #3323336. I have discovered that I already have that issue.
I have added several more Dragon magazines and the Greyhawk maps to my shopping cart. Can you please add them to my order until I get to the weight limit for both packages.
Since I have removed Dragon #355 from Order #3323336 at least 1 of the issues of Dragon in my shopping cart should fit in that order, possibly along with the 4 poster maps.
If you can't fit all of the Dragons in my shopping cart into the 2 packages, can you please advise me how many of them will have to be left out of the order?

The Dragon #355 has been removed from order 3323336. I'm working on seeing what I can do about shipping, but the system is fighting me a lot. It looks like I need to check some shipping parameters and data. I'll get back to you as soon as I have things worked out.
EDIT: I've combined everything back into one order for now, and will be working on it some more.

It looks like the current total is about 10 pounds. This could be split into 3 packages of less than 4 pounds each, with shipping rates similar to the first two.
Or we can removed about 2 pounds of stuff. Each magazine is approximately half a pound, if that helps you figure out which ones you may want to remove.
How much is the shipping cost for 3 packages of roughly 12 pounds vs 2 packages of roughly 8 pounds?
Edit: Assuming I ship using Standard Mail, not Priority Mail.
Also, if I dropped the Art of Dragon hardcover from my order how much weight would that free up? Enough to drop it back to 2 packages?
It looks like with the weight of packing materials factored in splitting it up into 3 orders kind of works. Shipping costs come out to $23.38, $21.66, and $23.28...with stuff split across 3 boxes and 2 envelopes, since a couple of them end up being just over 4 lbs.
It looks like taking the Art of Dragon hardcover out frees up about 1.75 lbs (plus packing material). If you wanted it down to 2 packages, you would probably also need to cut 1 or 2 magazines.
Ok, remove the Art of Dragon hardcover, Dragon #341 and, if needed Dragon #342 from the order to try and get it back to 2 packages.

I have cancelled those from the order. Things are now into two orders -- it looks like the system has each one spilt up into 1 box and 1 envelope. I've tried to force them together, but the system won't let me.

I have a similar problem to Olaf. I've got 28 items from the Golem sale totaling around $100 and weighing 15lbs. The postage is $107. Can I get them broken up into smaller packages too? As I said in my original post, these are purely for my collection so there is no rush on having them delivered.

I've split it up into 4 smaller orders. You should get some emails confirming the order information. They are suspended until you approved things with me.
I should also be able to add the First Ten Shipping discount to one of those orders manually, and our system is being finicky.

Looks like the estimtae is two standard postal packages at $40.96 minus $10 for the over $100 shipping discount. Total shipping estimate currently is 30.96, however this may change due to product schedule changes or other factors.
