I want to finish Landrush with a bang. I have an awesome plan to do so, but I can’t do it alone and I need you, yes YOU to help.

During my search to find anything and everything about Pathfinder Online I found on a site that I visit very often MMORPG.com that our beloved Pathfinder Online is ranked 30th most hyped in development game. I think we can do better. I want to see us in the top 7.

Why is this important?

Cause then our game will display on that websites homepage. Right now we have a score of 8.06 Hype. We need a score of at least 8.13 Hype (or better) to make the top 7 to be on MMORPG home page.

Only 136 people have voted! How many people joined the Kickstarter or after Kickstarter? I know we can do better! Further more only 47 people have commented about the game. We can so do better guys and gals.

So my request from me to you and the Pathfinder Community at large is to both “Vote” for our game at MMORPG and comment. It’ll take you 10 mins tops to do. And don’t say you’ll do it later cause you and I both know you’ll get distracted and forget. Take the 10 mins and just get it done and over with. And lets bring some new blood to our community!

Steps

Step 1.) Go here MMORPG
Step 2.) Register an account at the top (or sign in if you already have an account)
Step 3.) Go here Hype after you sign in and move the hype scale to 10 or whatever you think is fair, but you know it’s a 10.
Step 4.) Make a comment.
Step 5.) Tell your friends, settlement/company to do the same.
Step 6.) Give yourself a pat on the back for supporting Pathfinder Online.

.@Quietus this is true, but keep in mind that it is a high volume trafficked site. And there are plenty of "non caustic opinionated" people that visit that site as well.

As I found awesome and vonting right now. I guess the time for the game to been hyped will be at ee or oe. By now the game is so crude that may scared more suggestionable players.

.@Kemedo All the top 7 games on the home page are in the same state and most not even in alpha and or beta. These are anticipated games people are excited about. I'm excited about PFO and I want everyone to share their excitement by voting.

To be honest when I personally go to that site, I take a look at the top news articles at the top of the page, and the top 7 list to see if something new cropped up, and most the time I don't even bother looking beyond the top 7.

I tried to vote, and even though I've been a member since 2012 I still have an activity of 1/100. You need a 5 or higher to vote. Not sure what that takes but I'll look into it.

.@Bluddwolf Apparently like you were saying you need 5/100 in their ranking system and here are the pre-reqs for it

"Ranks are calculated every day at 2:00AM EST. They are only based on the last 30 days of data. We look at the following factors when determining your rank":

"How many days you visited the site (and logged in). This is also counted when you use our "autologin" feature."

"How much information you have posted in our forums (not the amount of posts)"

"The quality of your posts. If you post lot of "filler" posts that only consist of a few words this will cost you rank points."

So my suggestion on that is to go to our Pathfinder Online Forums on their website here Link to Forums and make a post or 2 maybe even copy and paste a post you have made in the past from the paizo boards over there. Also good for you settlements/companies to make recruitment adds

So I think the best thing I can suggest log in and out of a couple times today make a couple of quality posts here Link to the Pathfinder Forums on MMORPG and after the systems updates at 2:00amEST you should be able to vote I imagine.

So a little more work than I intended for everyone. My apologies, but the reward in popularity should be well worth the time and effort to those that contribute. And I thank everyone in advance for their hard work into this!

Ranking on MMORPG is based on your posts and logins over the last month. As Pexx stated, make a few posts and you should be good to go in a day or so.

So basically OP wants from us to go to MMORG, ake a few posts each (spamming their forums in the process) to make PFO more enticing for the people over there. So these people can visit PFO foruns and participate here starting from asking questions and making proposals we've made and discussed for last 3 years?
Ryan stated that GW want to start small and then expand. I'll be happy to make some noise on MMORPG when EE will be at least in the month 2 - with some working features and in-game activity that counts and matters. Brfore that this will be just additional noise IMO.

Marlagram, there are some good pints in your message, but it's already showing out that the level of participation is not what the devs wanted. The attention might be difficult, and might take a keen defence, but it is unlikely to be bad for the game's chances of success. We may well get a bunch of people showing up that won't fit, but we should also get a few that do.

Caldeathe, we as would-be players can't tell other gamers anythig other than alpha experience of some of us or share our hopes, guesses and GW's promises. Many sites took a note about PFO in the last two years and now they are waiting for game to start in one form or another. Alpha as it is goes more about building basics of the game, not actual game experience. Until MVP comes out I can't say anything (positive or negative) about PFO. I prefer not to tell tall tales to other people (unless I'm GMing ofc :) ).
I may be wrong and PFO may be in dire need for a fresh blood on these forums. Well 'till devs will say something along these lines I'll refrain from another wave of advertisement for our forums.

But we are ranked 5th atm so we achieved our main goal on day 1. So achievement unlocked! I would like to see if we can rise a bit more tomorrow and possible take down the Everquest in #1.

I think it's more likely that the site is treating the recent push as artificial and there is a math adjustment that eliminated part of it, but it could just be a hater. Life goes on.

I think positive posts will do more than the hype scale to get other people looking.

This^. They have a system in place to regulate for push voting in a short period of time. It happens with every new game.

I made a new thread about the recent Gobbocast. If people want to comment on that, the interesting bits they recall etc, it might help raise some real interest.

Also, if someone else wants to make a new thread about "Pathfinder: Adventure Time with Bonny" coming up tomorrow, and make sure there are some Twitch links in it, that might get a few people watching the streams on Friday.

should probably mention that the twitch streams are compressed and Alpha, so not to judge the project by those. Maye some links to a few nice hi-res screen shots if anyone has some that look interesting?

What we really need are people who are regulars on the site to actually want to vote for it. Sell the game on its merits and we might get some good out of this.

Well we were 30th slid all the way to 5th, but probably after MMORPGs update at 2:00amEST it factored in the number of votes to the actual score and gave us a true score of 8.09 sliding us back to 14th (which is still a major increase to where we were). That’s why we need as many people to vote as we can so we can stay up in the top 7 for the foreseeable future.

We went from 8.06 score to 8.09 score

Just to give you an idea of what we actually probably need the 7th game in the top 7 is Camelot Unchained they have:
720 Votes
247 Comments
Score is 8.13

So if you compare the numbers we are still a ways off, but we have risen overall. Also just so you know once a game launches your off the top 7 list. ArcheAge currently ranked 3rd will drop off the list in several months here cause they would have actually launched and another game will be eligible to go into the top 7.

That is why it is important that we have as many votes as possible even those waiting to vote for when EE or EO to happen cause it’s going to be an uphill rise for us to stay in the top 7. Every vote counts unlike most votes :P

Yesterday PFO had a hype of 8.16, so I see what Cheatle is taking about when logging in today and seeing it at 8.06 where it started when I first looked at it when this thread was first written.

The only way for it to lose that much ground is if Mmoprg is holding off all of yesterday's hypes until they are confirmed, or if others came in a voted the hype very low.

Hmmm says we are 8.17 on the Hype List, but doesn't look like they have updated on the homepage yet. Probably different server times on when they update it. (totally guessing, but seems to make the most sense)
