First off this is not a question about RP, racial traits, or abilities I will be "configuring" the race to better fit my campaign, but I was just wondering:
Humanoids use armor suits, and horses use barding, would a Centaur need both? If not could they still use both for an added AC bonus? would the barding be included in the armor? would the armor be included in the barding?

Barding is just armor for animals, well more specifically horses. But in Pathfinder it's applied to all non-sentient creatures.
In any event, a character doesn't need "both". It would have essentially only one set of armor. And the AC bonus would depend on how much it covered. The only thing that should change is that centaurs are unusual creatures (not humanoid) and probably large size category so how you price armor should probably be using barding rules.
You would only have one total AC bonues though. And, I'd would leave it equal to what the armors normally provide.
In the Centaur listed in the Bestiary it has a breastplate which still gives exactly the same armor bonus as if a humanoid wore it.
So yeah...probably just increased cost for manufacture and nothing else changes.

I would charge for large sized armor, not barding. You can either go heavier on the "realism" side and assume that the armor includes "barding" to cover the horse body, or you can simply have it cover the torso and accept that RPG numbers are an abstract and that its a fantasy game, so covering the torso magically grants an AC bonus to the entire body.

What Barrett said.
Armor for Unusual Creatures
Armor and shields for unusually big creatures, unusually little creatures, and non-humanoid creatures (such as horses) have different costs and weights from those given on Table: Armor and Shields. Refer to the appropriate line on Table: Armor for Unusual Creatures and apply the multipliers to cost and weight for the armor type in question.
According to the table: armor for a large, nonhumanoid creature: x4 cost, x2 weight.

Additional: I think you could argue for 2x cost if centaur armor was REALLY common in the campaign world. Like, "centaurs are at least 40% of continental population and have their own empire, which you are in when you buy it."
