I have to assume that this is a better weekend overall for Paizo. Bigger venue, extra day, more time between PaizoCon and Gen Con. It makes sense overall.
But personally, it's more than a little frustrating as it conflicts with three large cons in the bay area, including KublaCon. It's going to be a real bummer for the local PFS crew.
How far is this new hotel from the SeaTac Marriott, where Paizocon has been previously held? I'm a Marriott rewards member, so I'm inclined to stay there rather than at the Doubletree if it's close enough?
Google Maps reckons 18 minutes
Hilton's HHonours reward scheme can be configured so that it feeds it's points into another scheme, including Marriott. Obviously if you're at the point of getting active benefits from enough stays, then it's might not be worth it, but as far as the pure points are concerned it should be a wash.

I hope I don't get anyone in trouble but room rates are now available.
I called, and while they knew about the PaizoCon group, the rates were higher than you can see online right now, significantly when you consider the Paizo offer did not include internet and the online rate did.
I booked the non-Paizo block room as it was cheaper, and not in the PaizoBlock. While I'm all for late night gaming for all, it will be easier for me to sleep if I'm not next door to it! This year my neighbors were having raucous gaming-fun till the whee hours. :)

$109 WITH included Wifi ($10/day value). Says parking is included too, but then later it's not. Paizo rate is what you were quoted.

Ahhh... I'm getting $119 when I search for "two adults" and $109 when I search for one adult.
Interesting ... I did one adult and 1 kid, two queen beds, funny the adult cost an extra $10 ... must flush more or something!
I also find it interesting that the Paizo Rate is effectively $15 more (given that I get WiFi ...). The woman on the phone really encouraged me to get Paizo block so I'm "close to the convention" and with fellow Paizo's, and get the amenities offered to that block (which has never been anything more than a room, so ...)

I used the link above just now as well. Thanks to AAA, I got $116 for a Deluxe King with two adults. Oddly, when I booked last week (after doing a regular Google search for the hotel), I was getting that same rate for a Standard Queen, and the king rooms were more money. Obviously I cancelled that reservation and switched to the king! The queen rooms were less (one came in at $98), so if you have AAA (or AARP or any other discount they accept) don't forget to use it!!!

According to Mapquest, 1.12 miles away. Head down the hill from the Mariott, hang a left on International Boulevard, and drive for two minutes, or walk for several more.
Edit: Apparently, you have to drive past it until you can get to a turnaround and come back up on the right side of the street, so the walking distance is actually shorter.

Hey i'm new to pathfinder and really want to go to this. can anyone get me the info on where it is and how much is it to get in?
SeaTac Double tree
Ticket last year was $50 for three days, the next one is 4 days, so maybe a price change?
Banquet is $25 (food is fine and it's enjoyable to hear the news.)
Highly recommend the whole con.

RyanH gave you the details that we know. If you receive the Paizo Newsletter (selectable in the "My Account" page), or watch the blog or this page closely, they'll announce the full details sometime in the next 3 months or so (Dec was the latest I think, and should be earlier due to the earlier date this year).

I already had a room in the PaizoCon block, but I just cancelled it because the AAA rate is much better. I found 2 queens, for 1 adult and 1 child, for $89 per night, with free wifi (parking was not free). I went for the 2 deluxe queens, which get you a little closer to the action, rather than in the hotel wings (per a conversation with the hotel), and it was $98 per night.

I don't think it's a big issue either way. You're mostly just going to be in the convention space, and heading to your hotel room to sleep. This is the first year PaizoCon has been at this hotel, so I don't know the layout or how far the wings are from the meeting space where the games happen. So I went for the extra $11 to be a bit closer, just in case - mostly because I always take my son to PaizoCon as a birthday present, and I want it to be awesome for him.

I would say distance won't matter. What, another 5 minutes TOPS travel from room to games (probably more like 1 minute). And again, my most recent experience was that my Paizo neighbors gamed until the whee hours. (Which is fine by me, that's what we're there for, but it was hard on my sleep.) So, maybe being far away has sleep advantages!

Thanks for the quick response Sara.

So... because I would like to know pricing and such available for at least one person going, as I'm hoping to attend my first convention in a local enough setting, I just have to ask: What's the word on prices for tickets and hotel rooms? What's the word on sales for said products?
Nothing has changed since Sara last posted on this topic.

They are about a mile from each other and still close to the airport. The doubletree hotel is more spread out and larger, and better suited for a growing convention.

With the delays, and therefore, the short notice I'm worried that the banquet will sell out near instantaneously...
I'm sure Paizo's just as frustrated about this as we are, but is there any chance of something soon. I am approaching a window of no longer being able to request the time off...
You should have enough info in this thread to request time off - the con has never sold out (it just keeps moving to bigger venues to prevent that.)
