Halfing Ranged Paladin....viable?

Advice

STR: 12 (14-2)
DEX: 16 (14+2)
CON: 14
INT: 10
WIS: 10
CHR: 18 (16+2)

Traits: Perhaps Reactionary and Dangerously Curious

He will take Adaptable Lucka and Fleet of Foot Racial options.

Feats:

1st: Fey Foundling
3rd: P.B. Shot
5th: Precise Shot
7th: RapidShot

Like bump Charisma as we go along. Maybe Greater Mercy at some point?

Increase the LOH 1/2 per level racial option seems smart?

Anybody have any luck playing a small Paladin? The bonus to Attack and AC seems great.

Check out the divine hunter, it's designed for this.

Hey, I have not seen this before. Not too shabby.

Thanks!

Halfling Paladin is viable, you'll just need to pick up Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, and Deadly Aim ASAP (I wouldn't take Fey Foundling - ranged characters don't get hit as often). Also, you won't do really amazing damage unless you Smite. At which point you will start doing ridiculous damage.

I would also take a divine mount - extra mobility is really, really nice for paladins, especially small ones. Your + whatever from weapon spirit won't matter if there's a wind wall or something in the way.

I'd skip Divine Hunter. IIRC, it replaces a bunch of Auras and Immunities with the a single bonus feat[which you need the prerequisite for to take most of the ranged feats], and the ability to grant those feats to your allies[who if they are really ranged combatants, already have them most likely]. It isn't really worth the sacrifice.

But halfling Paladin is totally viable. The Attack Roll Bonus neutralizes the Strength penalty [do try for a +2 Str bonus if you can though, for Composite Bow], and the AC bonus is like cake. Also a bonus to 2 of your primary stats, and an awesome FCB[though you must wait 'till level 2 to take it], and some nice alternate racial traits. Fate's Favored Trait is great for Adaptable Luck. I will echo Reynard_th_Fox's advice of skipping Fey Foundling, since you will be ranged.

EDIT:Fixed Link

Very viable. The question is how do you want to play it more than it being possible. Divine hunter as mentioned is good. Mounted archery is also very good and I would at least have the basics required for that possibility. Now here is one thing to ponder though...

Would you like to keep halfling luck for a a racial bonus of +1 to saves OR take fates favored trait along with adaptable luck alternate racial trait to have a choice of luck bonus of +3 before rolling and a +2 luck after rolling. You can only use that a certain number of times a day and it cost a trait but it can be potent.

Unfortunately Divine Hunters must form their divine bond with their weapon:

Spoiler:
Quote:

Divine Bond (Su)

At 5th level, a divine hunter forms a bond with her deity. This functions as the paladin’s divine bond ability, except the bond must always take the form of a ranged or throwing weapon (excluding ammunition). In addition to the listed abilities, a divine hunter can add the distance, returning, or seeking special abilities to her weapon, but she cannot add the defending or disruption special abilities. Special abilities added to throwing weapons function normally when the weapon is used in melee.

This ability replaces the standard paladin's divine bond.

Halfing is very viable.
I would consider a 15(13) strength with a 14 after a stat bump.
If you worship Eratsil, you can ignore soft cover (if single creature) when using a longbow with the deadeye bowman trait. Though talk to your GM first, some GMs read it as longbows only which means no strength modifier until you get adaptive enchantment, which cost-wise is right around when you'd get that 14 strength anyway.

And nothing wrong with base paladin.

Another option is the oathbound (vengeance) if you want extra smites.

Shadow Lodge

1) Stay CRB paladin (the best paladin archetype, especially 11th+)
2) Don't bother with archery feats (aside from the very versatile Quick Draw to cycle weapons and light-quickdraw shields)
3) Buy an Oathbow
4) Two levels of rogue (to really put your DEX and CHA to work)
