Advice

so I am currently in a party of an antipaladin of lamashtu, A bloodrager, Tengu Swordmaster rogue, phalanx soldier, Crossbowman, Two-weapon fighter, Monk, and myslef who is a warpriest of a diety called Poroes. Poroes is a deity who is LN and specific to this game. His favored weapon is unarmed strikes. Anyway; My question was in combat what should our caracters do? Like on round 1,2,3...etc. My character is the leader and I want to be able to give a competent battle plan so as to properly lead my party. I am going holy vindicator so I am channel heavy and everyone else is simply melee anything that deserves it. Most of us are L or G but the crossbowman is N. I dont think our alignments really matter, sorry for rambling. Anyway, these characters are already set, so if you have questions please ask me so I can answer them accordingly. And thanks in advance for the help!!!

What levels?

Liberty's Edge

Most are Lawful or Good... but you have an Anti-Paladin of Lamashtu?

That can't end well.

yeah, I'm really not sure why... anyway we are level 5 MT 2. I had another thread about the antipaladin problem.

Anyone?

Is the issue that you don't think the party has a sound grasp on tactics, or just that you want to add flavor?

In either case, I don't know any of those particular classes well enough to give a blow-by-blow suggestion, but giving orders on the fly usually does a good enough job of projecting leadership.

"Brothor, take out that cleric!" Or "Malgris, go flank the troll with Hadlin!"
Just shout enough when your friends are taking their turns, and they might not listen, but it gets the air of leadership across.

I know that doesn't answer your question, but if someone actually could they would probably need more information. Telling us what feat trees your party members are invested in would go farther than telling us their alignments. In general, I think you folks have to find your strengths and figure out your own tactics.

The Exchange

As generically as possible: Use bless (or at least guidance) at every opportunity. Watch for (and point out) flanking opportunities, and try to make sure each of your melee types ties down any enemy spellcasters. If you have Selective Channeling, you'll find it very very useful for your build.

Pick up Sun Tzu's Art of War, read it, and think about some of the basics. I'm not sure it's really a great plan to be hitting up the community on a regular basis for tactics when you're the ones playing the game.

The Exchange

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Sun Tzu: Fifty-one victories in a hundred battles is not the best outcome. A hundred victories in a hundred battles is not the best outcome. The best victory is the battle not fought.
Pathfinder Player: But then how will I get XP?!
