Finishes Fifteen's ale and starts to walk out the door.

"Come on, let's go!"

I follow when people start leaving... apparently, there won't be an old man in a cloak with a map in this adventure.

Fifteen follows.

Also, Basic Stats:
Human Fighter 1
Feats: Point Blank Shot, Deadly Aim, Precise Shot
Attacks: Longbow +1 (+2 within 30 ft.) (1d8+3, x3)
Hit Points: 1d10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 1 = 13

Bolgrim tries to lead the way.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Fifteen feels the need to assert his dominance in this party.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
But he knows his place.

(ouch)

I follow Pretymonk

Looking in "Fifteen's" Direction, I say

Someone's been eating cabage and luk drak sausages.

"Don't eat flowers."

"Let's go to those hills the nice lady was talking about."

Bolgrim heads in the direction where the hills are located.

Scarab Sages

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

"Mother said if I was going to be a leader of men, I needed to start now."

I start scanning the horizon for suspected cultists. Including, but not limited to: People in black cloaks, people with green cloaks, people in other-coloured cloaks, people without cloaks, people in groups, people with mustaches, people with large t~@@, people with needles, people with pointy ears. Oh, and that barwench still has it coming. She's bad news. Probably a BBEG of some kind.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Also, people with wheelbarrows full of garden gnomes. Can't trust 'em.

Scarab Sages

"Sure you can. These are the common folk, whom we have to protect!"

Yeah... "common" folk. Evil cultist scum, the lot of them.

I crack my knuckles.

You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new Golarion frontier. You know... morons.

I follow prettymonk's gaze, and try not to stare at her, you know, parts.

"Mmmmg."

Scarab Sages

"We need to protect them! We're heroes!"

"We're getting nowhere."

"Go on momma's boy, lead the way."

I think the tall dark haired woman is right. What she just said, very smart, and to the point. Like she said, we should head straight for those hills. By the way, I don't think I got everyone's name. I'm Nath...I mean I'm Artegal, Artegal Boote, glad to be working with you all.

Scarab Sages

"Hi Art."

"My name is Bolgrim Vonbreaker, but my friends call me Grim."

"I don't know why."

"Fifteen. They call me Fifteen. Hello, Grim. Nathimean. Other person. Attractive person."

I bow to the others. Here goes again. Not talking tends to make introductions awkward.

"Mmmmmmmmmg."

Scarab Sages

"Hi, Grim, Fifteen, Monk."

Scarab Sages

Suddenly, the party hears a strange *squeak-scratch* sound behind them. They look up the road and see a dark man in layered in exotic robes, travel gear, and the dust of many roads walking toward them with unnatural grace - he must be on tiptoe to walk with the precision and silence he does - and stranger still, what looks like a tiny skeleton warrior shuffling a short ways behind him. As it gets closer, the party can see it is not actually made of bone, but is some kind of iron statuette. Beneath its ribs and behind its limbs, it is a thing of gears, coiled wires, and maddening complexity (and perhaps, simply madness). The man reaches the party and speaks:

"Fellow travelers! Why hello there! I am Tvashtri Abdul-Khasis, how good to finally see...natives?" He then notices the party appears to be heavily armed (or in one case, appears to just have heavy arms). "Guardians of the road? Should I be concerned, good gendarmes? Or maybe you are the brigands? Perhaps it would be just as well - who is to guard against the guards themselves?" He gestures to the little metal thing, now standing politely abreast of him as though it were both his bodyguard and his child. "I fear I've had but one companion for some time, and zir has precious little to say. May I join you?"

Level 1 Clockwork Mage signing on for ADVENTURE!

Incidentally, I don't look identical to my avatar, but it's about as close an option as there was - try mentally adding in a little more "Jack-Sparrow-meets-Jaffar" and subtracting some of the "ZOMG ANT-FACE."

Well sleep gives time time for discussions
Welcome, Tvashtri

I take in the little iron statue (possible garden gnome cultist?) and the man who is very prominently wearing a robe. After some scrutiny through narrowed eyes, I bow to him.
"Mmmmmmmg. Mmmmmg mg."

I'm fine with it
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
What do you think

"That thing ain't natural." Says Bolgrim in a low growl.

Is it just me or does Darling over here need a tongue

After listening to what prettymonk has to say, I lean my head to the side and say

No, no I agree with you Prettymonk, the first part anyway. I mean sure, you're right there probably isn't any real advantage of a press method over a regular pour over, I mean it's all in how fine you grind the beans and the quality and temperature of the water. What's that? Oh, well you think he might be a Garden Gnome Cultist. Good hunch. No, um, no I think you stand with a lot of grace. You don't look like your trying to be intimidating at all. NO, of course you can say that. That's perfectly reasonable.

I address the mage while extending my hand toward the others.

My recently met companions, particularly this tall dark haired lady, who goes by the name of Darling Prettymonk, and I, I am called Artegal, are pleased to meet you. The others are Kandirius, Bolgrim, Nigel, and Fifteen,

I point to each one of them in turn

We are headed into those hills over there, just to do a little scouting on behalf of the townsfolk. Seems there's been reports of troublesome individuals in that area, although I've not been told of any real criminal activity, it would only seem the townsfolk are concerned, at this time. Who knows, maybe everything will turn out fine.

I am fine with you hitching a ride Tvashtri, but one hint of betrayal...
Roleplaying note: this character is very paranoid but is sane enough to realize the benefits of strength in numbers

"...And I'll crush you with my hammer." Bolgrim finishes.

PIT TRAP!!!!!

I am the GM here Mike, but if you would like to roll up a character that would be fine

yeah... sure Bolgrim *shudders*

Anyways, the full expanse of the hills are in front of you its border spans from east to west (about 10km) and goes on for as far as the eye can see. Searching the entire expanse would take several days.

Spends several days searching the entire expanse.

perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4

My non-elf eyes saw nothing.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
I'm going with him, this is what we were sent here to do

Neither of you see anything of note.

"I no good at this reconahuey stuff."

"Hey! Number guy! You good at reconahuey stuff?"

Fifteen begins the search.
Taking Twenty for 22. Such a shame fighters don't have Perception as a class skill, eh?

That takes you approx. 1 month are you sure.

Ah, I misunderstood because this was not in the online campaign section. I thought it was just everyone have fun. No worries.

That's because it is not an official game. I'm only 14 and I certainly do not have the experience to run an official campaign. I'm relatively new to Gming but I have been playing D&D 3/3.5/PF for 7 years. I am here to get experience.

You might consider just posting on Recruitment explaining this. People are understanding enough (and eager enough to find any PbP) that you'll probably still be able to get some players and get started. Just run a short one-shot and see what happens.

Fifteen begins the most important, exciting quest of his career.

Taking 20, unless interrupted.

No real interruptions but you don't find anything

One week later, the ghost of Fifteen ascends into the heavens, having completed his pointless task. A pity he didn't pack a waterskin.

We are men of action, lies do not become us
