New GM recruiting for an upcoming campaign, players wanted!

Recruitment

1 to 50 of 165 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | next > last >>

First of all, let me introduce myself. I'm a young (-ish) veteran of Tabletop RPGS, though a relative newbie to Paizo. I have played Pathdinder almost since it's inception and absolutely LOVE it! As a break from standard 'GM puts forward idea, those interested apply', I will be putting a list of campaign ideas I have been thinking up (Or borrowed and modified from my friend, TheSilverPrince!), wherein players can vote on a specific campaign. The ideas are as follows.

1. Echoes of the Sephira- An idea originally thought up by my friend, TSP, this campaign would be an epic gestalt campaign where players create fledgling demigods (Quasi-gods?) and journey across the planes as their powers bloom. Eventually, players will take the roles of full-on deities. List of special rules: mythic, legendary levels (Little Red Goblin Games Pathfinder version of epic levels done right!), gestalt (Secondary class is one of the Godling classes from Rogue Genius Games!), and once players become full deities, divinity rules (Mix of LRGG and old 3.X deity rules,).

2. Sailors of the Starlit Sea- A technomagical space campaign. Need any more explanation? ^_^

3. Zombie apocalypse campaign. Unique class system. Currently undecided on some specifics of the setting, but will likely see what the varying interests point to as the logical choice.

4. Modern Arcana Reboot- Old 3.X Modern Arcana setting, Pathdinder style, updated to match the current world.

5. Some form of Gothic Horror campaign setting very similar to Ravenloft. Specifics to be clarified if interest is voiced.

6. Put forth some suggestions! I would be happy to entertain certain ideas. I will leave voting open for one week and allow vote changing in the event of someone putting forth a great campaign idea.

If anyone needs any of these campaign settings elaborated on, I would be happy to help! ^_^

Hopping on from WotW to say hi. :-) I'm most interested in Option 1, followed by Options 3+4. Really, anything that includes Gestalt and/or doesn't involve starting at Level One is fine with me. I'm a very experienced PbP GM and am currently running/playing in a half-dozen or so campaigns, so feel free to hit me up if you have any questions about anything at all!

I'd be happy to hop in and give it a shot, especially with either 1,2 or 4. Horror isn't quite my thing. I have good experience as a player and some experience as a DM.

Option 1 sounds AWESOME. Count me in!

I too can offer assistance with GMing, as I am well versed in both PF and 3.x.

Thanks Whack-A-Rogue! #1 would start the players out as 19th level gestalts, just on the cusp of realizing their demigod status. Once they hit 20th level, then they gain a mythic rank, a divinity score, and begin the process of leveling up to legendary levels, as far as the crunchy portion. Storywise, PCs would have to find out! Players would also get to customize their own divine relic (Read: Major Artifact!), with limitations of course. ^_^

Hey Cydrius! Any particular favorite out of the bunch?

Hey there MonkeyGod! And thanks for the offer as well.

So far, 3 for Echoes of the Sephira, with Modern Arcana Reboot at 2, and Sailors of the Starlit Sea and zombie apocalypse at 1!

I even have a PC all ready to play, just need to make him 19, instead of 20

Does anyone need more info on any of these? And yes, I know I can edit, but I think edits may be awkward.

ALSO, ADDING OTHER OPTIONS: FINAL FANTASY STYLE TECHNOMAGICAL SCI-FANTASY CAMPAIGN OR OATHBOUND (Google it if you don't know how awesome it is!)!

Cool stuff, Ice King! ^_^

Scarab Sages

I'd be happy to join in on 1,2 or 5. Also slave escape, jungle survival, or aristocratic intrigue would be fun.
Edit: FF6/7/8-style or Oathbound might be fun too

Oh, and if option 1 is what is finally decided upon, LIST YOUR DIVINE TITLES! How can you be a god and not have titles? o_o Also, list what your domains will be, what types of servitor Outsiders you want that match your alignment, and all the regular things as well.

As the campaign is not yet decided, character creation guidelines will not be posted, unless they are requested.

And good ideas Kios.

PER KIOS' SUGGESTION, ARISTOCRATIC INTRIGUE AND ESCAPED SLAVES (Katapeshi?) ARE OPTIONS!

DARK FAIRYTALE IS ALSO A CAMPAIGN OPTION!

It's Whackarogue! -waves- Well, I'm very interested in ideas #1 & #2. #1 sounds very very fun.

Option 1 makes me think of Exalted (which I have been missing for a few years now). I don't know much about those settings though, so I can't really comment on what title or short of class I would submit, , but when I'm at a PC instead of a tablet, I'll Google it.

Beyond that, options 2-4 and the final fantasy sound like fun.

Fledgeling Demigods sounds very interesting, and I love Dark Fairytales, so those would be my votes.

Thanks for the invite. :)

And the interest piles in! Yay! ^_^

Several of the new ones sound hella fun, but 1 still holds my greatest desire.

If you ever decide to run a second, with the same choices, I will definitely be interested in playing one of the others.

Also, that Doomed Hero fellow is pretty awesome.

Hmm...#s 2, 4, and 5 appeal to me the most, although I'm not actually familiar with the Modern Arcana stuff (but a quick Google search gives me enough to pique my interest) :)

UPDATED LIST OF SETTINGS!

1. Echoes of the Sephira

2. Sailors of the Starlit Sea

3. Zombie Apocalypse

4. Modern Arcana Reboot

5. Gothic Horror

6. Final Fantasy-ish Technomagical Sci-Fantasy

7. Oathbound

8. Escaped Katapeshi Slaves

9. Aristocratic Intrigue

10. Dark Fairytale

Indeed MonkeyGod, Doomed Hero is! I snuck a peek at the War of Honor campaign and he is awesome! Then again, all of TSP's PCs are! ;)

Ok, so my vote is 1, 7, or 10. Very interesting stuff!

Oh, and as a note about Echoes of the Sephira, the storyline begins in media res just like any other literary epic, so anyone voting for it is hopefully fine with that. Not only that, but PCs, in lieu of being a vanilla mortal hero X, can choose to be a monster equivelant to a 19th level character, it's HD gestated with the Godling class. Some may wonder, why gestalt Godling? Because I have seen in some publications where DEITIES DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE MAGIC THEY BESTOW! That is, to use a modern term, just plain cray-cray!

And since the response will likely be overwhelming with eager players, I am likely going to do TWO campaigns, though I do not think I could handle another one and keep quality up. TSP is a sodding beast to be able to handle as much as he does!

Dark fairytale, Aristocratic Intrigue are my favorites closely followed by 2 and 4.

And another one pops in! ^_^

You guys are making me blush!

Heh, had to look up in media res. Totally fine with that.

If you truly are OK with running two games, I will vote for Dark Fairytale as my 2nd choice, with the hopes of playing in both.

I will admit to being partial in loving the concept of Dark Fairytale as the second campaign! As a note, the Dark Fairytale setting would be pretty cerebral, with deep roleplaying, puzzles, riddles, and foes that MUST be fought intelligently, in addition to 'typical' campaign elements. You WILL feel helpless at times, but how could it have the dark fairytale feel if you could overcome everything as it was presented to you?

I shall toss my hat in as well, I would look forward to playing ^^.

Dark fairytale, Sailors of the starlit sea, probably Aristocratic Intrigue would be my preferred but I am sure I can enjoy any of those honestly. I would be far to willing to make a Cid character for a Final Fantasy game.

Ah, hello Mr. Vincent. Nice to see you, as I did not get to converse with you earlier when I made the announcement for WotW. One small note on the Final Fantasy-ish campaign for you: I do not allow direct character influences. You can theme a character after an existing one and make the name different (Dr. Syd, for example,), but I just have an aversion to direct character conversions. Other than that, I probably would not be super stickler-ess about it!

In the dark fairytale game, would we actually play fae?

The godling game sounds a little rich for my blood. I once designed a gestalt 13th level wizard/cleric. It took me about two months to iron out all the details to the point where I was happy, and then the game ended up collapsing under the weight of the numbers. It soured my on high level gestalt games (still love low level ones though).

I'd like to update my votes for-

10. Dark Fairytale

2. Sailors of the Starlit Sea

5. Gothic Horror

in that order.

MonkeyGod, no you would not, though I suppose that gives me another campaign setting seed combining at least two of those previously listed!

CAMPAIGN SETTING IDEA #11- FEY COURTIERS (Characters play as Fey from one of the four seasonal courts. Will implement rules for trading esoteric substances with mortals. Characters would have a Fey base class and would gain new powers as they level, in addition to the Fey class' normal progression.)

That's fine, DoomedHero!

Count me in for that! and Dark Fairytale! lol

My main choice is still:

1. Echoes of the Sephira

idea 11 interests me certainly although I'm still rooting for Dark Fairy Tale I like tales of darkness and trickery...

Scarab Sages

My current favorites are Echoes of the Sephira and Fey Courtiers.

If I do end up as a demigod I like the titles:
The Balanced Edge
The Reaping Wind
Watcher of Axis
He who quietly contemplates nothing
Seeker of the Lost One
The Monk of Many Hats

As a completely "true" side note: The Fall Court was eventually renamed after many confusing injuries.

It appears this stuff is a smash hit! Just letting everyone know, I will stop listing campaign ideas if the idea count reaches 21. Don't want to flood all of you with choices! Speaking of which...

CAMPAIGN SETTING #12- COURTIERS OF BLOOD AND SHADOW (Similar to the Fey Courtiers idea, but with vampires in a distinctly Gothic Horror setting. There will be 9 available breeds to choose from, sort of like 'clans' from Vampire the Masquerade or Requiem, depending on what type of player you are lol.

I'm about to log out for the night, but everyone be thinking up some ideas for those campaigns you voted for!

Votes will go 11, 1, 7, 10. Ideas are a'brewing!

Hello all!

My vote, in order of preference:
1. Echoes of the Sephira
6. Final Fantasy-ish Technomagical Sci-Fantasy
2. Sailors of the Starlit Sea
3. Zombie Apocalypse (i recommend Exodus for this, although that has more of a Fallout feel. What system were you considering?)
4. Modern Arcana Reboot
9. Aristocratic Intrigue

Also, I have Iron Kingdoms and ASoIAF that i bought for games on here that died. In case we were looking for systems to cover some ideas (ASoiAF has good rules for Aristocratic Intrigue, and IK could be good for techno-magical)

TEN!! WHOOHOO!!

I vouch for that creepy alligator, lizard-thingy gentleman!

As do I, excellent player.

MONKEY!

Probably wouldn't play Dr. Bertram again. Maybe Aovar or Aandal. Maybe someone new, as it's just about easier to make a new character than try to retcon a level (plus the Prestigious HOPF) off of Aovar (or 7 levels plus one half of a gestalt off of Aandal).

That said, while I voted #1 the highest, i did so with trepidation. I have yet to be in a game over lv15 on the boards that lasted a long time.

EDIT: shoutout to Viluki as well, trying to kill me in Eberron.

If i were to pick a title, and DSP's psionics were allowed, i would probably go with a title like
- The Pattern that Binds
- The Fractured Mind
- The Lucid Lunatic

Well....anything based on vampiric clans and VtM is fine by me, add that to my list as a very high priority.
The godling to gods one everyone else seems to like would be a fine pickle for me as well...I would probably just end up following in Loki's footsteps though.

RVT,

I think capping at 12 choices/ideas is good. Those are already some really awesome concepts and there's no need to go too crazy, yet. lol.

Any ideas you end up with, can be jotted down, and used for future games. Perhaps, once you get the hang of running on here, with the pacing, and the almost inevitable drop outs, etc, you'll decide you can add another game or two.

Also, it seems like most people are choosing from among the initial offerings, so that's another reason to currently curtail more options.

Finally,

Ice King Petrikov is based on the Ice King from Adventure Time.

His titles would be things like Lord of Winter, or Master of the Frostfell, etc.

ONE LAST THING:

As his current build is caster on both sides, would I have to take Godling? I feel like if your concept is partially caster, you shouldn't have to be forced to take a Godling class.

Or, at the very least, when we hit 20, we have to take one level in it.

My votes, in order: 11, 9, 1, 2, 6, 4.

I look forward to seeing what you choose to run.

I would love to play 1, 6, 7, 8, or 10.
I have a character I could use for 1. I think it's from the same campaign as monkeygod.

1,2,3 5 all sound interesting.

Pathfinder Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

Ideas 1, 10, and 2 caught my interest.

As for titles, The Silent Death, Shadow Huntress, ect.

Rogue Sniper of Just Vengence

All of the ideas sound awesome really but those three sparked the most at this time.

I'd think that #1, 2, 7 or 10 would be the most interesting for me.

Time for me to start cackling, and breaking reality methinks.

Title(s): The Sight Of Gods
Godsight
Blind Seer of All

Since Echoes of the Sephira is so popular, I have a question. Would those who picked it care for a by-the-numbers sort Of combat or would everyone prefer for me to add a multiplier to both PC and NPC/monster damage to keep up a brisk combat pace?

MonkeyGod, I would much prefer everyone gestalt into Godling, as it has 4 variants that can fit any role. I can provide rules if need be. If that would be a point most players disagree with me on, I could allow you to do a regular gestalt, but ONLY if one is a full caster (9 levels).

THOSE WHO VOTED ON NUMBER 1, READ THE ABOVE IDEAS AND POST YOUR IDEAS!

Also, I will leave one more 'idea slot' open, as I love the number 13!

Since option number 1 seems to be a forgone conclusion, everyone who selected it post some ideas for characters.
