Wow! Sobering news.
Best of luck to you and yours, Sean. I'd say "you'll be missed" (and I'm sure the folks at Paizo will miss having you there in person) but I'm encouraged that your announcement says you'll be sticking around as a contributer. May you continue to be a guiding light to the community for many years to come!

Sean is a friend to many of us, a coworker to some of us and a valued member of the Pathfinder community. I've removed some posts that are mean-spirited in nature and some posts in reference to the removal of those posts. As I said before, this is not a thread to air grievances. If you have questions about Paizo's moderation practices, please email webmaster@paizo.com.

I know he wrote that it's all amicable and such but I wonder if there isn't something coming on the horizon that he didn't want to stick around for, like a new edition of Pathfinder getting ready to start being designed and he didn't like or want to be part of the direction it is looking at taking.
No.
But I heard it might have something to do with the Aucturn clock. O_O

Wow, people would do that in this thread? Just...wow.

You live in Indiana. I live in Indiana. You're welcome at my gaming table anytime.
On a another note, I really hope someone takes up the job of putting unruly and just plain wrong people in their place. Seriously. SKR always did a great job telling it like it is, even when unpopular. I personally will miss that.

Thanks, Sean, for everything. I've enjoyed your writing, your responses, your unbelievable stamina in the RPG Superstar forums. That itself is a testament to dedication, knowledge, and love for the game.
You inspire a whole new set of designers through your feedback and advice; you are always spot-on and never mince words. Best wishes to you and yours.

There isn't anyone at Paizo I'd be more saddened to hear was leaving.
And I'd be crushed if Erik, James, Jason, Lisa (okay, okay, I know that's sort of impossible) or any of the other not-to-be-insulted-by-not-being-named-by-name people who are public-facing (okay, okay, Cosmo don't poop in my next shipment [again] please) were leaving.
Paizo is an amazing team and SKR was my favorite designer. I don't care if anyone or everyone agreed with his thoughts on rules, his points were always strongly grounded in sensible gamecraft.
This is the rules/design equivalent bad day as when Nick Logue stopped penning horrific material for me to torture my players with.
Sean, if you're stoking your ego - I mean reading this - then know that I wish you well, and if you ever pump out some more RPG material, you can count on my contribution to your mortgage payments. Above all else... thank you for all you have done.

Sean has been a big, positive influence on my career. He helped me find my bearings more than once at WotC, gave me opportunities to write for charity as a publisher, and was an excellent developer when I freelanced for Paizo on projects he oversaw.
I look forward to seeing what fascinating thing he produces next.

Tis sad he's leaving, but I can't begrudge the man wanting a change of pace. He's done a huge amount for the roleplaying community and for Paizo as a company. I may not have always agreed with Mr. Reynolds, but I certainly always respected him and the insane amount of work he does. May your future be even better then the present.
Wouldn't mind if you wrote more god articles at some point either...

Would Paizo consider making the Sword Of Killing Hitler canon in Sean's honor?
It's overdue for its time in the sun.

I have always found Sean's arguments and responses to be reasonable and sound. He knows very well how the rules work, and how they don't work, and has always tried to offer suggestions and reasoning. People may disagree with him, but someone as outspoken as he is will always have contention directed at them.
Disagree with him or not, he was and is a leading authority, and should be respected as such.
I hope to see more from him, and even have more in person conversations at a con or two.

I'd kickstart an Adventure Path where we eventually get to use that sword.

Sean,
Ghostwalk was what put you on my radar, and I was excited when I found out you'd be helping design Pathfinder. I've always found you an insightful designer and an inspiration as a writer. Your deity articles are a highlight of the Adventure Paths, and I hope you'll freelance on them in the future.
I'll stay alert for whatever it is you write in the future sir.
Nest wishes,
John "DM_aka_Dudemeister" Karatovic

Ghostwalk was one of my favorite 3.x books and spawned a campaign plan I still hope to run someday, someday.
Also, Sean doodled a Golarionized Clerks reference I made into one of the doodle-signatured Ghostwalk copies sold through the Paizo store. :D
