Whaaaaaaaattt!!!
you mean like rouge and rogues?

@ Thax: Yeah...:(

In any case, afew more ideas:

1) A "sexy" druid (basically a nature/lunar oracle)

2) A character that takes their cohort as their significant other. (more an element than a character, but EH!)

3) A cavalier or a samurai that rides a centaur (this is not meant as a double entendra)

I've started playing a slightly disturbed alchemist who considers himself an "artiste" of alchemy; sees other alchemists as shysters obsessed with gold & death.

I just wanted to verify, what you meant in this scenario is that Sally the Ranger would have her centaur friend (we'll call him Steve) double as her mount, correct? Not Sally the Ranger who happens to be a centaur also?

Yes, sally the ranger would be a human/elf/whatever. Heh, might be funny to have a Merfolk riding a centaur.

I've got one of those on deck for PFS. Need to add some GM credit to get him up and running.

Sadly, I have only played 3.5 fighters, which I thought were awesome.

I already have one ready to go:
Human Fighter || 18 14 14 10 10 10 || Intimidate, Profession(engineer), Climb, Survival, Swim; Perception, Knowledge(dungeoneering, engineering)|| Resilient(+1 fort saves), Indomitable Faith(+1 Will)
1 |Toughness, Intimidating Prowess, Combat Reflexes
2 |Bravery, Power Attack
3 |Armor training, Cleave
4 |Great Cleave
5 |Weapon training(Blades, Heavy), Blind-Fight
6 |Bravery, Lunge
7 |Armor training, Iron Will
8 |Quick Draw
9 |Weapon training(Thrown), Step Up
10|Bravery, Vital Strike
11|Armor training, Improved Vital Strike
12|Strike Back
13|Weapon training(Bows), Improved Iron Will
14|Bravery, Stand Still
15|Armor training, Deadly Aim
16|Greater Vital Strike
17|Weapon training(Close), Disruptive
18|Bravery, Spellbreaker
19|Armor mastery, Great Fortitude
20|weapon mastery(GS), Improved Critical(GS)

The problem is that the fighter-type is normally the first picked in our groups. I'll just have to muscle in for next time.

My last group no one wanted to play the rogue or frontline fighter. My wife got the paladin. And I was ready to play a rogue when someone showed me a 'slayer'. To hell with the rogue. Slayer it was. In two or three levels after I am a skill monkyish type. I'm going full Barb. Buff up like Conan as he got older from 'The Tower of the Elephant' and wreck s%+$.

And my wife rolled a 17 for her cha and a 16 for strength (we were allowed to roll 3 d6 re-roll ones and twos. Best stats I've had for years.

I'm really looking forward to this our first actual d&d session in 30 something years (0kay not d&d) but who cares.

*I would consider the paladin a fighter-type. For example, in my current group the fighter-type is a synthesis summoner (sigh)

I have a weapon master with a Scythe. Grog can now Lunge, Power Attack, and Whirlwind...

"Grog have Scythe, will travel."

I have yet to play a Mounted Barbarian, those seem fun.
I want to play a ranger assassin, we haven't started the game yet but he's written up.
A variant channeling cleric of Norgorber is on deck too, but has yet to have an at bat, both games start this month. I'm really excited to play both because they kinda theme each other but are in two different games. The assassin plays in Westcrown, so his trade is kinda obvious; my cleric of Father Skinsaw debuts in Korvosa, though neither are in an AP. I have kinda burned out playing Paladins, although my current is one of my favorites, I kinda need a couple evil character to wash off the heroism; so I decided dark and gritty was best.

Archaeologist 1/Flowing Monk 4/Lore Warden x, with Improved Whip Mastery, Greater Trip, Whirlwind Attack, Enforcer, and Vicious Stomp. Permanently enlarged, some other goodies, no armor, sky high trip with whip CMB, and maximum dexterity.

On your turn you can attack everyone within a large area of reach with a trip attack. When you knock them prone, you get two attacks of opportunity against each one (assuming a high enough dex bonus that you don't run out), at your maximum BAB, with a bonus to hit because they're prone. The first is non-lethal (it's a whip so you can choose), allowing you to attempt an intimidate check to intimidate (or possibly frighten) them for a number of rounds equal to the damage, given them yet more penalties. The second can be regular damage.

When not your turn, in addition to threatening a large reach area for AoO's (including adjacent since it's a whip), when anyone attacks an ally in your range or you or you can trip them as an immediate action with a chance of sickening them, and then the two attacks of opportunity with a chance to shake them. Possibly worth investing in a couple Reposition feats at higher levels as an option to have a chance to totally interrupt attacks, force already tripped people to have to stand up and move, and grant your allies AoO chances as well.

The bard from Gamers. The guy who kept getting killed.

Yeah, a scythe using fighter is one that I'd been wanting to do as well. Only what I had in might would make use of the various crit feat chains and the feats that rely on Intimidate. His whole schtick would be that he's delusional in thinking he's an avatar of some death god. His normal motif would be to dress/act like a stereotypical grim reaper- long black robes, speaking ominously (or trying to) in low tones, that sort of thing. I haven't decided if I'd play him straight or play him for comedic effect (probably go half and half).

Karl Hammarhand wrote:

Well it's not a bard, but it only takes 5 levels of reincarnated druid (archetype from ultimate magic) to get that.

Karasu. or in English, Karas, Essentially an Aegis whose psionic armor resembles a Gothic Tengu's in design with a usually black and silver pallete, likely carries a Japanese Katana with a Tengu's theme, and is followed around by a ghost catgirl named Yurine, you kill Karasu not by killing the Karasu himself. but by Killing Yurine. Karasu would technically be male, and would have been a human prior to becoming a Karasu and would thus, be yes, an adult male from Ilina? how unique?

an Angelkin battle Oracle modeled after an Arrancar. essentially a petite female kenpachi that started as a mod soul shinigami and doesn't know her blades name. perpetually in a forced Ressureccion and talks down to people with sprinkled bits of gratuitous poorly misused Mexican Spanish words sprinkled in, as if she were made by Tite Kubo and needs to be slapped in the skull with a Mexican dictionary. effectively, an authentic Tite Kubo inspired character. wears white with a broken mask.

a Harmonixer, think akin to Yuri from Shadowhearts. essentially an arcane necromantic warrior whom gains power from stealing the souls of outsiders and affixing them to her own. gaining the power to take their form and gain their racial abilities and racial modifiers atop her own. for example, if she stole Archangel Micheal's Soul, she could take the Archangel's specific form, gain his powers atop her own, and gain his massive Archangel Racial modifiers to place atop her own stats. essentially, the souls of outsiders halt her aging as long as she keeps stealing them. she would be a vain and gorgeous woman in her late twenties whom just doesn't feel the desire to turn 30 so she relies on the souls of outsiders to restore her youth akin to a sun orchid elixir.

a female native american style half demonic human skinwalker whom appears to be in her early twenties, she is obsessed with her appearance and eats the flesh of beings she finds cute so she can take on the desired features of their form. she had multiple bestial forms and multiple humanoid forms, and gains her new forms by consuming the flesh of the creature. she takes a few combat forms, but she truly desires to be attractive, and has a warped sense of it, where she will eat a rabbit because it has ears she finds cute at the moment or eat an apprentice sorceress because she has the skin complexion she finds most appealing in her deluded mind. she is driven mad by the amount of conflicting personalities within her, allowing her a rage like ability powered by primal chaos. probably works best as a gestalt Druid/Barbarian.

Da'amerengue dur Nacht, a dhampir Zen Archer 5 / Kinslayer X. He was originally scheduled to play in a game, but the character was no longer suited for the task since we gained someone who can fill the holy roller theme in a group of anything but. It's a shame, since I've found out that a lot of the game is themed around undead and potentially vampires, which Da'amerengue has been itching to try on.

I've also been kicking around the idea of a casting duo. A gnome and his long-time best friend, a human, find that the gnome has suddenly developed arcane powers (Sorcerer). While at the bar one night, the gnome is impressing townfolks with his awesome displays of magic (Prestidigitation, Dancing Lights, etc.), and his friend is a bit bitter about it, wishing for powers of her own. She passes out in a drunken haze, only to wake up with a hangover, and the memory of a celebrity (she thinks) of some kind coming into the bar and laying a hand on her shoulder before leaving (after a few pints, of course). She finds that she suddenly has magical abilities similar, but not quite the same as, her gnomish friend, and now requires very thick glasses just to see.

[Played one session of PFS where he died due to the actions of a cowardly paladin played by a 12 year old.]

Early Gunnison - A gruff, no-nonsense Dwarven warrior. Tough as nails and names his weapons after the women in his life (e.g., "This axe here is Matilda. Named after the toughest woman in cellblock 2C of the Battlebrew Community Corrections Center, my mother"). Has a dagger named "Carlos" that he refuses to speak about.

If he had survived he would have been bitten by a transvestite while out drinking. A month later he would "discover" that he had been transformed into a were-princess. The morning after each full moon he'd wake up with a punishing hangover in a flouncy dress and size 14 high heels, makeup smeared around his face as though applied by a toddler.

The one thing I would like to run that I have yet to find a GM that will allow me to run is A Half-celestial Paladin.

I did that in 3.x - it was a blast. :D

I love Monks - I'm playing gestalt Monk/Sorcerer with the spells being fluffed as "super-ki" that is fun.

Another great combo - with great flavor would be a monk/soul bolt (ranged soul knife archetype) - with the soul bolt being ki.

A Dwarven Alchemist/Gunslinger who built his own gun. The ultimate inventor Dwarf.

I'm lucky that most of the personalities and story based ideas I've had I've been able to play.

I would SOO allow you to run that... hell, I've got a dwarven fighter/baker, that fights using dwarven battle bread, that has taken the "master craftsman" feat so that he can be a magical baker. Strangeness galore. The other player is a "hammer saint" (sword saint samurai refluffed to use hammers) that has a nasty brutal smash (instead of slash) and got disowned by his highly conservative clerical family for NOT killing a goblin (so that it could be questioned).

I like kooky characters let's say...Although I would probably insist you had been bitten by an actual princess, not a transvestite.

Looks neat, though where are all his damage bonuses for the rapier coming from? I can only find enough to amount to 1d6+12 (plus all the fancy bleed and crit stuff) from his rapier, but his stats list 1d6+23.

The agile property on the rapier lets him add his Dexterity to damage.

Ah, that makes sense. I wasn't familiar with the agile property.

Bumping this. Hoping to see what people want now. Havent been able to remove any from the list (nobody I know is willing to run pathfinder games... whah!).

-Tattoo-centric half-orc inquisitor (ALL THE TATTOOS!)
-Grippli gunslinger (Wise kermit the pistolero)
-An inspiring freebooter ranger
-Dorri Chorrach (welsh for "dwarf smash"), the dwarven barbarian.
-A technomancer (with strong emphasis on combining magic with tech, and a compulsive personality). Either a human or a ratfolk.

i am going soon to play a weird one indeed...
a cleric with hide in plain sight (shadow dancer 1 \ hellcat stealth \ shadow arcane heritage \ homebrew archtype... whatever will work... )

wisdom in a flesh will provide the stealth.
the domains are of a special god in our game - a concept of a unofficial judge, a retribution being that judge those that law cant reach.

here is the homebrew version :

the archetype: :

lvl 1 : gain "wisdom in a flesh" trait for stealth for free
trade knowledge arcane & planes for perception & know local
lvl 3: can stealth at full speed like the rogue talent
add dark vision spell to spell list as lvl 2 spell
lvl 9: gain hide in plain sight like a shadow dancer
the archetype lose ALL channeling energy of any sort and no proficient with shields.
he still gain 2 domains and channel positive\negative energy.
his domains are heroism (glory) & trade (travel)

the concept:

as DM banned inquisitors, this is as close as can be .
the idea is to be a cleric that use amazing diplomatic skills, (read the 2 domain powers, it's insane). to gain information, track, trace frame and bring to justice. all in the name of the heavenly court.
the character was once an angel, who fell from heaven after he broke like - "for the greater good" . now he travel the land, form the shadows - making himslef a reputation as a hero from the shadows (batman like).

build:

cleric, human 25 point by.
14,13,14,12,18,14
lvl 9 .
only item that is important is +1, cold iron, guided nodachi.
feats:
1: dodge, human: skill focus stealth
3: power attack
5: mobility
7: spring attack
8: human : skill focus free - know local
9: eldritch heritage - arcane (arcane bond ring)
future plan > 11: quicken spell or divine interference or silent spell to summon with no sound.

the idea is, to use the guided weapon, to spring attack from shadows & cast spells & summon & buff allies .
off combat the character has +27 to diplomacy at lvl 9.... better then a bard..

Elf Barbarian.
"It's not a 'berserk rage'. I enter a meditative trance that aids me in reacting quickly in battle."
"Last fight, you ripped off an orc's arm, and were beating him with it while screaming like a banshee."
"That was the optimal strategy at that point."

Human (or Halfling, maybe?) Druid
A young girl from farming country. Has her dog by her side, carries a shepherd's crook. If you menace her, she'll either fracture your skull with it, or turn into a wolf and rip your face off.
"Who's more in tune with nature than a farmer?"

Human Warlord (From Path of War) - just because it looks like fun.

Ninja social skillmonkey who wears bright colored clothes and works as a musician in their day-job. "I'm a bard."

Dwarf wizard who wants to make magic weaponry, and who wants to personally field-test their creations. (So they'd need armor proficiency)

Every type of magus ever

I also want to find a way to port in my favorite character from another system:

Un'gol Slam: From the great nation of Oosa, This unintelligent orc wears his ceremonial red, white, and blue outfit complete with a large hat, and of course the ancient weapon of his people: A chaingun with a chainsaw attached to it, Sometimes he gets so mad that he can actually shoot the automatic weapon even faster.

He fights for the Repummelic of Oosa, which is inhabited by the Murcan Orcs, a great form of government in which Representatives fight it out to pass bills, in an arena sport.

His favorite expression while fighting tanks is "Don't tread on me!"
His favorite expression while trying to escape a trap is "Live free or die!"
His favorite expression when fighting a demoralizer is "Murcan's don't negotiate with terror!"

He's known for only being good at killing things, and at everything else, he's outspoken and somewhat uncomfortable, yet still charismatic. People adore him as that lovable oaf.

I'd like to play a bard. Just a vanilla bard.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Lately, I have REALLY wanted to play as Hama. I've been totally obsessing as of late.

My current list is:
- Regular Wizard
- Ecclesitheurge of Sarenrae
- A Swashbuckling Slayer
- Bloodrager I mean, it's a Barbarian.... with spells. That's scary as s@&%. I would probably re-flavour burning hands, it come out of his nose instead of his fingertips. Snots his enemies ablaze.
- Intimidate focused character.
- A mythomaniac, transvestite/androgynes female bard. She is convinced that she is a man, an expert knight and a master wizard. And she will convince others of it too.
- An Aasimar Goblin, Oracle. A little, blue goblin seeking a way to turn his race away from evil. Goblin Jesus... sort of...

These are the once that are on the top of my head at this moment.

Nice stuff everyone!

Good luck finding a GM that will allow Hama though, RD.

Well she's evil, which tends to often alarm a lot of gms in my experience. And her overall paralysis tends to limit ones ability to do things. That and she starts at level 12.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the character, I find her quite fascinating. I suspect finding a gm who could work her into a party or something could be more difficult.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

You're right about the evil and high level, but if you look at the character more closely, I think you will find that she is quite capable of adventuring despite her debilitating condition.

Back in 3.5, in a game of Savage Tide, I used the Dragon Magazine rules to roll up a hatchling black dragon (primarily so I could have a strength of 18 while still tiny). It. Was. So. Fun.

-He constantly referred to the rest of the party as "my minions"

-The other party member who found his egg and raised him in his backstory was constantly referred to as "my lieutenant"

-He swam in a bag of holding filled with swamp water and the party loot/coins/etc, and called it "my lair"

-He referred to his share of any treasure as "my tribute"

Sadly, his life was cut short by a dinosaur who rolled three natural 20's in a row (!!) on him with a bite attack, effectively biting his head clean off him as the DM said.

I want to play him as a Pathfinder character. Don't know how I can, though. The Dragon Magazine versions from back in the day are woefully underpowered compared to any PF characters, and most GMs I know won't accept the Bestiary Savage Species conversion on the boards.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Just build it the way Pathfinder expects.

A tiny black dragon has 4 dragon HD. You then multiclass them with class levels and add all the abilities those HD and being a tiny black wyrmling entails and you're done!

Such a creature, before class levels, would probably feel right at home in a group of 3rd-level characters.
