Science fiction item vs modern item
Just found an item I find so offensive and disgusting I may have to hit the neither button if it is paired with my current worst item choice.
I like items that deform terrain, not enough of that. Especially few that are reliable.

ugh... voted against the same item about 20 times now... but, sure enough, there was something out there worse that finally forced me to upvote it.

I just love it when I read and item and think "I'm voting for the other item no matter what"... then I read the other one and reconsider...
It takes me from utter despair at postings that might reference my item to thinking, "Hey, I must really have a shot at this...!"
And then back again...

I've definitely seen a few comments in this thread that could have been leveled against my item, but they are almost exclusively positive...
A lot of items that create difficult terrain.I quite like one of those items, but I might be alone in that.
The problem is that there's many spells that let you do that, so unless the item let's you do something novel with it, the item comes off bland. Even each difficult spell terrain does something else. Grease let's you disarm and trip people. Web is flammable and can effect aerial enemies. Entangle entangles.
2 spells in a can. One is simple and cheap, the other complex and expensive.

But one great lesson for new entrants reading this thread in horror: use these criticisms to entertain yourself, and then learn from them. "Big things come from small beginnings."
Good work everyone, especially those of you already at the Star or Dedicated levels. In spite of the slog of wading through some of the more ...interesting items, the voting process really is a great learning experience for future contestants.
I'm hoping (and expecting) to see some hardcore voters from last year make the Top 32 this year.
The runes are just something I'm noticing. It's not a plus but not a deal-breaker. I feel like I'm learning a lot about what makes a good entry for next year.

I'm afraid I don't. I still have 7 hours left on the attunement that gives me a +5 bonus on Profession (Voter).
There's so many bomb items.

So I am guessing the orifice item was not supposed to be joke item. Maybe something is wrong with me but I spent a good 30 seconds laughing at that one while I waited on the countdown.

Why do people make vomiting items when SKR specifically made a guideline against vomiting items?
I've seen a few well deserved hits that could be attributed to mine. I feel like I'm learning a lot, but I stand behind my item.
