I've seen Lots of bad items. +Lots of quite ok items. +Maybe only two items I'd expect to see in the top 32.
And one item that resembles mine but not so much that I'd be worried.

So this item does not work unless it's attached to the specific variant of a specific magic item?

Holy cow. I've been voting and reading this thread during the one minute cooldowns since 8:30 this morning and I'm just now caught up? I see a solid stock of marathon voters in our future. Also, therapy sessions.

GM: You hear the unmistakable sound of [x]
Player: Is it possible that I am, in fact, mistaken?
GM: No. Unmistakable.

I've been seeing some pretty good items. Nothing's really wowed me yet, but I'm not really up for something that turns the game on its head anyway.
I am really pleased by how quickly the algorithm is getting everything sorted, though. Last night, most of the votes didn't take more than a glance. Now, almost all of them are good vs. good, decent vs. decent, or bad vs. bad.
I don't really enjoy weighing two bad items against each other, seeing which is less bad, but it definitely means the system's working.
Cheers!

Something that Weight is a lot vs one with a -.
glorified camping item vs. stiff breeze
Gack! Disgusting bodily functions has gotten the up vote twice in the past hour because of the quality of its competition.

I didn't even know you could make those symbols on the messageboards. :o
An item with the same general effect as mine, though I feel mine explored more of the in-world consequences of it.
Finally figured out what this item actually DOES. Lead not just buried, but buried under a "why the heck would I use this?" effect.

Things get weird when you vote and do online traffic school.
Did you know that pedestrians absorb spells and that you should always drive on the left side of the lane while it is heavily raining in the shadow plane?

A big problem is when two items are next to each other, all else is equal, and one is grossly overpriced for its effect and the other way underpriced. Owww.
So this is my first year at this, and I don't know a whole lot about the voting process, but I notice the more I go along, the more I see item pairing with two items with similar functions/slots. Is that just coincidence, or by design?

Finally, I have to decide which of two good items is better, instead of less bad. A glimmer of hope!
GM: OK, we're taking a break from the Pathfinder game so that Joe and I can play a quick game of [X] in character ... why don't the rest of you go grab a bite to eat or watch a movie or something?
Filigree count: 2

I actually considered an item evoking the classic "chess game with Death" trope, but to avoid that minigame aspect, it ended up just getting handwaved and turned into some static bonuses. Then it was boring, and I moved on.
My first filigree item and it even has an overdone alliterative tongue twister of a name.

Okay, if I can achieve the same end result your item provides with either a 0 level spell or a 1 gp mundane item--and in less time--why should I pay thousands for this thing?

Some people really seem to botch social rolls on a regular basis... so many items with vastly exaggerated bonuses for smalltalk. As a GM, I wouldn't want to have half of them in my game.
That's the second item now I've seen that was either in last year's competition, or it's so close I'm mistaking it for an item from last year.
You somehow made an item that does the same thing as a cantrip cost more than a +1 longsword. And the actual cantrip is more useful!

Hmmm, everyone has started saying how good the item pairs they are getting are now.
So that means I have the timing of a flumph before a waking red dragon then.
I hope you all appreciate my pain in sorting the bottom table items for you all >.<
Anyone else getting names that sound like they're using the conventions from a video game like Diablo or Torchlight?

Man. I'm feeling so damned silly, working so hard to make my idea fit the mechanics of the game, when all along I could have just invented whole new game concepts as I pleased.

I seem to be in the same position. Hoping that since I haven't seen my item, that is at least a decent sign.
