Kinda new here, and new to Pathfinder as well. I apologize if this is in the wrong section.
It was recommended to me after I decided to get back into roleplaying. I had roleplayed 3.5E DnD a bit, but not much, and refused to touch 4E. In fact, 4E kinda made me boggle at the changes they announced...
So, now I'm getting back into gaming, and am busy looking over this system... and, in the process, brushing up on all of the stuff I missed.
Also, can I just say the rulebook is a big improvement over the 3.5 rulebooks? It's less of a cluttered mess, has much better artwork, and so far the information seems to have been a bit more sensibly organized without losing the classic book structure. When I was told Paizo was out to fix everything wrong with 3.5, I had no idea that included the flaws in the books themselves too.

Thank you all for the welcome ^^
I'm not quite ready for the organized games yet. Want to get a game or two of the system under my belt first, at least.
And definitely enjoying the cookies ^^ Though, uncertain if it's a good thing that a paladin wants a word :P
Depends...have you atoned lately? :p

Does getting murdered by an ex-paladin for accidentally destroying his god's temple and costing him his paladin status count? :P

Welcome to the very best place to argue about whether a half-celestial riding a dinosaur is better than a halfling riding a giant pig.
The cookies are delicious.
Well, if we want to argue specifics, the half-celestial should have levels in the Beast Rider archetype, a quick runner's shirt, and the ability to preform 20 free actions each round. And if we look at RAI, we can also see that the halfling Alchemist/Master Summoner/Holy Gun/Mysterious Stranger/Sorcerer should be able to cast feather fall during a surprise round in case he gets knocked off his pig.
I'm kidding of course.
Welcome Magus! I have found myself very much enjoying Pathfinder over the last couple years. It is a big improvement over 3.5 in my opinion, as me and my friends would usually end up playing "who can break the game the most", with feats such as telling blow and monkey grip. Pathfinder is a much more balanced system, thought out much more carefully, and very good at correcting it's mistakes. With things like archetypes, specific traits, and swappable racial traits, it's very easy to make a completely unique character, and tons of fun on and off the table. I can find myself looking at the books all day, and the mechanics aren't the only things that are well thought out; grab an Inner Sea World Guide and prepare to be fascinated for hours.
The best part though, is the community. Lots of friendly, welcoming, and intelligent people, making sure that you have everything you need to have a good time. D20PFSRD is a good place to stop if you need to look something up, and there are plenty of threads dedicated to answering questions, like this one.
Cookies! Yum!

MagusJanus, I'm so with you on Paizo's take on 3.5 and their reorganization of the rules.
Be prepared, though! There are plenty of rules, and along with the abundance comes...complexity. Feel free to ask "stupid" questions on the Rules Forums and take the harshness of forum-goers with a grain of salt; someone will (likely) answer your question expertly and, if you are lucky, with a link or rules quote.
If you are like me, as RPGs go, (and I suspect you are, to at least some degree) you should enjoy the directions that Paizo has taken our time-honored hobby. The "Advanced" and "Ultimate" rules books have taken the (relatively) simple basic 3.5 rules and expanded on them in a way that (please don't let Hasbro(R) see this!) even Wizards of the Coast couldn't pull off!
Look out for early access to rules via playtests, too. Oh, yeah, and be prepared to have input and be heard!

Where are you RL? If you don't have players or are looking for some, check this thread: http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/community/gaming/connection
Also, check the recruitment sections of the PbP games here as well.
Also, while you may not be especially interested in Society (organized) play, it makes for a great way to PUG (pick-up-game) into some games.

One thing I am pondering on this...
Where are online mapping utilities? I'm kinda trying to find some good ones for a bit of practice with. I also GM once I'm comfortable with a system, but even lack of comfort does not prevent me from occasionally just mapping out something for a game.
Plus, I have this really wicked idea for a mage's academy...
And I'm central U.S. Right smack in the middle of it. Transportation is a bit of an issue, though. But, that will be fixed soon.
