So, there have been threads, and James Jacobs has spoken up about who would play the iconics…but what about the deities?! Here are my picks. What are yours?

Abadar - Aidan Gillen
Asmodeus - Gavin Rossdale (although I confess I was tempted by Dolph Lundgren)
Calistria - Sienna Miller
Cayden Cailean - Nathan Fillion
Desna - Lucy Liu or Liv Tyler
Erastil - Sam Elliott
Gorum - Nathan Jones
Gozreh - Christopher Lee / Olivia Wilde
Iomedae - Kate Beckinsale
Irori - Takeshi Kaneshiro
Lamashtu - Lena Heady
Nethys - David Bowie
Norgorber - Hugo Weaving
Pharasma - Zoe Saldana
Rovagug - n/a...but Kevin Grevioux should do the voice-over for him
Sarenrae - Lucy Lawless (in her prime, a weak choice)
Shelyn - Jaimie Alexander
Torag - Graham McTavish (obvious, but no less valid)
Urgathoa - Anna Torv
Zon-Kuthon - Benedict Cumberbatch (i struggled. this one's a hail mary)

A few of these were really tough, as you can probably tell by less-than-stellar choices. (Asmodeus, Sarenrae, and Zon-Kuthon) Anyway, what do you all think? I'm sure the community can do better on many of these.

Interesting ...

Much as I've enjoyed her parts in the Thor movies, I don't think that Jaimie Alexander has the right figure for Shelyn. If we had a time warp available, I'd vote for a brunette (her natural colour) Marilyn Munroe.

Liberty's Edge

Clint Eastwood should play Erastil =)

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

I'll take Noomi Rapace (or Possibly Rooney Mara) as Calistria

Gerard Butler as Torag

Jason Statham as Korada

Carrie-Ann Moss as Lamashtu

Alice Cooper (because Ozzie is too obvious) as Asmodeus

In his prime, I'd have taken Charles Bronson for Ragathiel, but now I'd have to go with Kevin McKidd

Vlad Kulich for Abadar

Bellona, time warp is fair game.

Paladinosaur, I seriously considered Eastwood, but in the end decided he was too mean.

I thought of Robert Downey Jr for Cayden and Robert De Niro (from early nineties) for Asmodeus. I do not see Hugo Weaving as Norgorber, more of Abadar. He might make an interesting Asmodeus, though.

Zon-Kuthon? Hmmm... Either Sting or David Bowie in his prime.

I would also like to see Tilda Swinton somewhere in the cast... Gozreh? Zon-Kuthon? Pharasma? (Younger Davind Bowie could be also interesting pick for Gozreh).

Charles Nelson Reilly...as everyone!

Zon-Kuthon should be played by Gary Busey.

Liberty's Edge

I second Hugo Weaving as Abadar, though that does beg the question of who would play Norgorber. Cillian Murphy might be a good choice, though not if he's already playing Seltyiel. :P

For Asmodeus, I have to go with Vincent Price, hands-down.

For Cayden, I agree that Robert Downey Jr would be a good choice, though I think a young Harrison Ford would be awesome.

Irori is a tricky one; Irrfan Khan might do a good job. He was pretty good as a semi-mystical, sagely-type character in Life of Pi, and Irori is supposed to be from fantasy India.

David Bowie as Nethys is, I think, a truly inspired choice. Now if only we can figure out a way to work muppets into the equation. :P

Nazanin Boniadi might make a good Sarenrae; she's got some acting chops and she's an official spokesperson for Amnesty International. Plus, she's Iranian-American; I think it would be a shame to just cast some pretty, anglo-American actress.

For Shelyn, it might be interesting to have multiple actresses play the role, since her appearance is supposedly subjective (to some degree), depending on the viewer's ideal conception of beauty. Still, if I were to pick one, I think I would go with a young Audrey Hepburn, as much for her humanitarian work as her appearance.

Helena Bonham Carter might make a good Urgathoa; the fiction I've read makes her followers out to be a bit camp, and she seems to fit the sort of gleeful insanity that Carter does best.

Steve Buscemi or Kevin Spacey for Norgorber.

Helen Bonham Carter for Urgathoa is great pick! Vincent Price as Asmodeus is interesting idea. I don't see in him enough contempt for mortals, though...

Idris Elba as Nethys?

Oh, and Sean Bean would be the best actor to play Aroden!

Spoiler:
Hint: He dies!

Scarab Sages

Erastil- one of the duck commander guys
Cayden- Dave mustaine in the 80s
Lamashtu- Kris Jenner
Abadar- million dollar man Ted dibiase
Norgorber- Karl rove

Never heard of any of them :P

1 - TV show about a bunch of hunters/duck call makers who have long beards

2 - The frontman of Megadeth, formerly Metallica guitarist
3 - The mother of monsters, the Kardashians
4 - A TV Wrestler from the 80's and 90's
5 - Presidential advisor to George Bush 2, portrayed as a Palpatine figure on Family Guy

Alice Krige as Urgathoa

Asmodeus - Christopher Walken

The Exchange

Zon-Kuthon - Tom Hiddleston

Christopher Walken could be able to play a proper amount of contempt for mortals as Asmodeus.

Silver Crusade

Calistria should be played by Hedy Lamarr

I of course would play myself. Bow down and worship me fanboys!

If the Pathfinder movie were to stay true to the tune of the Golarion world. No one would play the dieties AT ALL.

Because this isnt' Forgotten Realms where the Gods have a throwdown on the mortal plane every time WOTC wanted to raise book sales. The will of the Gods is expressed through subtle or dramatic effects in the world and more importantly through their agents.

After all in the Conan movie... who played Set or Crom? (Spoiler answer: No one.)

Shelyn == Christina Hendricks.

Charles. Nelson. Reilly. As. Everybody.

If I remember correctly, short of a competent necromancer, Mr. Reilly is on the completely unavailable list.

No one thinks Tim Curry would make a good Asmodeus?

In my notes for an upcoming Wrath of the Righteous campaign I have Iomedae listed as Penelope Cruz in armor.

As I like him, his smile does not fit Asmodeus. Not threatening enough. Maybe one of the archdevils, empyreal lords or maybe one of the Eldest.

EDIT: One of the aspects of Norgorber?

We need a role for Mila Jovovich... Calistra or Iomedae.

So is Vincent Price, but I didn't see anyone bat an eye at that one. Besides, Wildebob left it open to anyone past or present.

I see Chris as more of a Geb man. In Prophecy we got to see Walken as a Fallen Gabriel next to Asmodeus. He'd not have been nearly as epic in the second role.

Ooh, if you're going for contempt, maybe John Malkovich could be Asmodeus. He always kind of sounds like an angry restaurant patron explaining in detail how unsatisfied he is with his meal.

Sovereign Court

Abadar: Lee Pace
Asmodeus: Javier Bardem
Calistria: Tricia Helfer
Cayden Cailean: Sam Rockwell
Desna: Natascha McElhone
Erastil: Jeff Bridges
Gorum: Entirely CGI, not sure about the voice. A kettledrum? ;)
Gozreh: Amanda Seyfried and Rutger Hauer
Iomedae: Charlize Theron
Irori: Faran Tahir
Lamashtu: Claudia Black
Nethys: Cillian Murphy
Norgorber: No one.
Pharasma: Sigourney Weaver
Rovagug: Hmm.
Sarenrae: Zoe Saldana
Shelyn: Emelia Clark
Torag: Liam Neeson
Urgathoa: Rooney Mara
Zon-Kuthon: Doug Jones

Silver Crusade

Cayden Cailean : Jack Black

Desna : Noomi Rapace

Erastil : Kurtwood Smith

Nethys : Idris Elba (I would shoot for younger, but holy @#$% this guy could pull Nethys' nature off and make it look easy)

Pharasma : Gina Torres

Arshea : Tilda Swinton + Cillian Murphy?

so crazy it just might work:

Zon-Kuthon/Dou-Bral : Voiced by Devin Townsend

I'm....kinda falling in love with this idea now.

Dot for later fun.
EDIT: by which I mean, I'll likely just lurk. I'm terrible with actors and their names.

Cumberbatch might be an awesome Abadar or Norgorber (Sherlock Holmes-y).
William Dafoe as Zon-Kuthon.

I'd love it if Christopher Walken and Warwick Davis could get in on this, but, though I had some ideas, I'm blanking right now. A 15-hour day with a non-napping (despite best efforts) toddler will do that.

I'll read the thread later.

After considering her take on Joan of Arc, how about Milla Jovavich for Iomedae?

It seemed more realiztic a choice than Bjork. ;)

Younger Sigourney Weaver could be also considered for the role of Iomedae? Or one of more warlike empyreal lords.

At least some of the demon lords could be also added: Abraxas, Nocticula, Socothbenoth, Zura...

Mads Mikkelsen : Norgorber

If Tilda Swinton must be on the list, then she needs to be Urgathoa. Also, Stana Katic is TOTALLY Iomedae. I also suggest Morena Baccarin as Sarenrae.

This is why I think Noomi Rapace is such a strong candidate. Her character in Prometheus is very much a "younger Sigourney Weaver" character, along the lines of Ripley. With the added benefit that I think Noomi is hotter than Sigourney, and don't get me wrong Sigourney is hot.

A while back, I suggested Cayden being based on Malcom Reynolds if he were promoted to godhood and Thais, his herald being based on Inara Serra. They are both prostitutes in mortal life who argue constantly with their patron/captain.

Johnathan Rhys Meyers as Asmodeus

It occurred to me that we hadn't gave a divine role to BRIAN BLESSED yet!

Voice of Gorum perhaps? Erastil perchance?

Hmm, Erastil as a large ham? Interesting... But I could see him as Abdar as well.

I see what you did there, and I do agree he would be a good Asmodeus. But only because of this

I like your idea of Jonathon Rhys Meyes as Asmodeus, but the less anything makes me think of Firefly, the better

Gabriel Bryne for Asmodeus

I think Isabella Rossellini would also make a good Pharasma.

Torag: BRIAN BLESSED. Honestly, he wouldn't even need makeup. Just give him the costume and he'll bring his own warhammer.

Completely different take on Asmodeus: sir Antony Hopkins. Or maybe he could play Norgorber?
