Wand Wielder Magus?

Advice

Trying to build a magus, and the "Wand Wielder" magus arcana seems quite interesting, but fundamentally flawed... it takes a move action to draw a wand, and if I spend a move action I can no longer use spell combat since it requires a full-round action.

Is there any way to draw/swap wands as a swift/free action? I know quick draw doesn't work for wands, what else is there?

Nothing I know of. The only way that come to my mind is a weapon enanchment that has a continuous effect of weaponwand spell. It's fairly expensive, I think, but even if it's little cheesy, it work with quick draw.

A spring loaded wrist sheath can have a wand in it and would be a swift action to equip that wand.

hold a wand in your off hand and your scimitar in the other? seems like that would work if youre using wand wielder

The real reason I'd go for wand use is versatility in spell selection. By equipping a wand in the off-hand, not only would I only be able to use that one wand to cast from in spell combat, I would become unable to use my normal spells in spell combat since I wouldn't have an empty hand, and to free my hand I'd either need to drop the wand on the ground (and spend a move action to pick it up if I need it later in combat) or stow it away (once again a move action)

Ah, that would work, thanks. Only issue of course is that once I equip it I can't put it back in the sheath and will then have the dilemma I mentioned above. It is better and gives a little more utility though since I don't need to have the wand in my hand in advance. Too bad I can't have multiple sheaths on my off-hand arm.

Hm, what if I Monstrous Physique into a multi-armed humanoid? If I pick a 6-armed race I could probably have my weapon hand, 4 wand hands, and an empty hand for maximum versitility. (Of course, if combat starts unexpectedly, I wouldn't have time in-combat to cast the spell then pull out all my wands)

My Wand Wielder Magus in PFS always memorizes Weaponwand.

There's also the Glove of Storing, but it's kinda pricey.

I have a wand wielder magus, using the spring-loaded wrist sheath and Weaponwand spell also. A Wand of True Strike in your off-hand is awesome, getting a +18 To Hit on your first attack, =)

The real effectiveness of wand Wielder is when you get to staves. That gives you multiple spells that you cast at your caster level and DCs. Until then it just lets you use your backup wand after you cast all your signature spells.

I'll second that. Wand Wielder is for staff magi. Put your favourite non-touch attack combat spells in your staff and use it on rounds where your frostbite has charges remaining.

Could it be possible with tiefling prehensile tail?

With the new haste ruling I want to get a wand of bladed dash. Just imagine the visual of a Magus, hasted, with mirror image up, dashing around the battlefield.

Craft gauntlets with a permanancied weaponwand on them. Store wands in your gauntlets...shoot repulsors beams out of your hands like iron man...still only one wand but awesome.

Also gun cords perhaps?

The Pragmatic Activator trait would be incredibly useful to you.
