Pathrinder Naruto

A friend of mine wants to create a class based on the ninjas in Naruto. I know that there is a d20 out there, but I was wondering if anyone here has ever tried to convert them to Pathfinder or might have suggestions. Right now he's thinking of combining the Spellcasting Ninja from Ultimate Options: Power of the Ninja with the Elemental Ninja from Expanded Paths.

There is a class from Drop Dead Studios, the Spiritualist, that actually feels like a 'do it yourself anime-class.' I recommend you taking a look at it, and them somehow making a chimera Ninja/Spiritualist.

The Naruto characters vary so much, it would be impossible to create one class to encompass all of them. You could, however, just create a character using the extant classes and he can call himself a ninja if he likes.

There was a great 3.5 thread on Naruto somewhere, but almost all characters were CL16-20.

Agreeing with Zhayne here. Naruto, at this point in the manga, has mythic plus multiple classes. Not bad for a 16 year old.

A plain jane class combo would do the trick imo.

Sorceror/Eldritch Knight would do the trick. His martial ability is relatively secondary to the abilities he uses, or at least augmented by his abilities, most of which can be replicated with a Spell(Subsitution Jutsu would be mirror image comes to mind, tons of blast spells to represent the other stuff, bloodlines for kyubii stuff). Just throw in some Mythic for extra specialness if desired.

I think Sasuke could be represented by a monk/magus(hexcrafter) mix. That way, you get some basic hand to hand fighting, and you can use spell combat to cast shocking grasp. Of course some later powers could require some levels in Summoner.

Rock Lee is easy, just make him a martial artist monk and give him the right magic items.

The Sanin and Kage are so powerfull, that mythic rules seem quite fitting.

The Nine-Tails has 20 levels in Synthesist Summoner. When it begins to get loose, it forms its eidolon around Naruto.

The various Mysteries/Revelations of the Oracle class could be used to depict the 'Element Release/Style' ability of the characters in the anime.

Examples:

Mystery of Flame= Fire Release/Style
Mystery of Stone= Earth Release/Style
Mystery of Waves= Water Release/Style
Mystery of Wind= Wind Release/Style

Someone would have to invent a Mystery/Revelation for Lightning Release/Style and Ice Release/Style. The Bloodline Limit ability of some ninja in the anime (ex. Sasuke) and the more clan-specific abilities ( Ex.Shikamaru's Shadow Manipulation) could be depicted as several spell-like abilities.

At any rate, the big question here would have to be which of the Ninja's special class abilities would have to be replaced. The spellcasting ability of the Ninja archetype in Ultimate Options: Power of the Ninja replaces Sneak Attack. The Elemental Ninja archetype replaces the Ninja's Poison Use ability and Ninja Tricks (at levels 4, 8, 12, and 16) with the Elemental schools in the Advanced Player's Guide.
