How do I build an Airborne ambusher? I figure the best way is to use power attack with vital strike, employing a Lucerne Hammer to use flyby attack from range, occasionally charging in with death from above possibly to finish an enemy off.
While this all sounds great in paper, I am not sure about its scaling ability. Sure, it would be devastating at level 6 to be able to hit and run constantly rolling 2d12+ 1.5 Str mod + power attack every turn, but as the levels increase there would be more emphasis on dealing lots of blows to increase damage, which is where I fear that the Airborne Ambusher would flop due to their greatest ability being able to hit one per turn and run.
What is your advice on this?

You might be able to pull it off if you continuously pick up the other Vital Strike feats. You'll always be attacking with your highest BAB, so hitting the enemy won't be too hard.
The only issue with iterative attacks in the later levels, when enemy AC starts to get really high is that the target's AC will generally get beat by your first hit, maybe your second, but your third and fourth are gonna have a hard time hitting, so you're only really hitting twice in a full attack (unless the enemy's AC is really low or something). If you hit once, but you can power that hit up with the numerous Vital Strike feats, it's gonna make up the damage you would be getting with that second hit.
At least that's from my experience with higher-level enemies.
