So I was pledged for $275.
I upped my pledge to $395.
Kickstarter only charged my CC $275. What to do? I really don't want to miss out on the add-ons I added the $120 for.
you'll more than likely have to contact either kickstarter or amazon payments about it, as they handle the pledge system and charging. If you do a quick search you should be able to find the thread that GW and Paizo put up with the proper links for just this sort of thing.

Even if you are not able to get it fixed with amazon, Ryan has said elsewhere on the forums that we will have the opportunity to up our pledge in the fulfillment process, so you can do so then if all else fails.
Ahh.. good deal. I probably missed some confirmation screen or something. Surprised I would do that but not sure how else it could have happened.

Don't worry about it. When we send you the Paizo.com survey in a few weeks, you will be able to add on options and pay for it then. All the options available during the Kickstarter will be purchasable at that time. So just wait until we do that and everything will be kosher.

What about the Tavern? Can we add on the Tavern?
My guild was also wondering about the tavern.
ALSO ... if enough people buy addons in the survey will we kick up to the next level of rewards ? Will there be a new funding goal with extra rewards to encourage people to up their commitment ?

Please do. I missed out on the first two, and I want to contribute.
I am pretty sure the situations is:
1) people already contributing to the current kickstarter can increase their pledge at survey time - as confirmed by Lisa above.
2) another kickstarter seems unlikely according to other threads, and actually a KS to "go gold" would probably not go well
3) it is POSSIBLE that buying into the beta early start and getting access to the addons and rewards from the KS will be available for those people that unfortunately missed the KS completely, but nothing official has been said either way. You will have to wait and see what gets announced about this.

Giving us more stretch goals to get the game earlier might motivate a lot of people. You don't even have to give Adding more miniatures has it's own associated cost, but adding some more levels to the emerald spire might be worth it (maybe more people will buy the print pack add-on – thus potentially lowering the cost to print per book).
And of course, asking the crowdforgers about what add-on they would like to see, could help to monetize it (I have no idea what other add-on could be done, well maybe something to allow you to give out a number of guest passes to your friends, so they can try the game).

Everything? :D
I believe that anything that was available in the Kickstarter will be available then. Of course, you will already have to be a Kickstarter backer to access this page. Of course, I reserve the right to change my answer to "almost everything" if something comes up during the making of this survey tool that makes me remove an option. But my goal is to have everything available for a short time to folks filling out the backer survey.

If during the pledge upgrade process we pass the 1.1M mark for a new miniature, or the $1.15M for Sean K Reynolds to write an Emerald Spire dungeon level, then we will add that to the rewards. We will also add features to the MMO if we pass other goals, though what those goals are I don't remember off the top of my head. It should be pretty clear once we get to the backer survey process.

Second part to my question: will there be an opportunity later than the Survey to get a tavern. Obviously it won't be too close to the launch of Early Access due to the nature of what has to be done for the Tavern, but I'm trying to gauge about how long I have to raise the fundage.

Not sure. A lot depends on whether we have any taverns left to sell. We picked an amount that we are comfortable with and once they are gone, there will be no more. Right now, there are four left. Will any be left after the backer survey? Who knows.

@Darsch Assuming what they said during the Kickstarter is still valid, which I think is a safe assumption to make, changing your pledge to include your girlfriend will switch you to the second month of early enrollment. The reason is because they said any changes made before the $1 million mark was hit will not change anything and everyone before then will be in the first month, but anything after that point will be the second month. This was reiterated during the live broadcast at the end of the kickstarter, which someone recorded and put a link up in another thread somewhere.

but the pledge date technically wouldn't change which might affect it, this is why I am asking before i add anything to my pledge, if it keeps me from month one then there is no point to adding extra funds to it for me.

Other than you save your girlfriend $25 and she can't start the same time as you otherwise. Plus, she would have to wait longer before signing up since the survey will come out before the shop opens up for those that missed the kickstarter.

@Darsch, Uthreth is right, you will lose your place in line.
From Ryan, please tell me I didn't lose my place in the first month because I added $200 to my pledge!:
@All: for clarity
The only thing that changes your Early Enrollment date is changing a lower tier pledge to Buddy or Guild or from Buddy or Guiild to a lower pledge level.
Add-Ons have no effect on your Early Enrollment induction date.
Changing from Crowdforger Pioneer - I assume that's your current pledge level - to Crowdforger Buddy or Guild will reset the date at which you join Early Enrollment.
They announced a deal that would allow all Crowdforgers who pledged before they reached the $1,000,000 goal to go ahead and get into month one of Early Enrollment regardless, but I'm not sure they're going to continue that now that they've passed the goal.

eh i knew all of that, was hoping since its adding to the already funded kickstarter it would not change your entry date, guess its to much to hope, i will just hold my extra money then as there is really nothing else worth adding on to it to me. its better i get in month one and her come in later then us both starting two or even three months later as other people add to their pledges and such. i mam sure more then a few low level pledges might bump up to the buddy level if they have the extra money.

Kickstarter's reports include only the timestamp of your initial pledge. Ryan had an idea about how to build a more complete report that included pledge level changes, but it was a bit terrifying, and totally not worth the effort—especially once we decided that everyone who pledged before the $1M mark is in at month 1. So we're only going to use the timestamps for the original pledge, and the only thing they're going to determine is whether you were in before $1M, and, in some cases, which daily deals you're eligible for. And nothing that happens in the post-Kickstarter process will change either of those things.

thank you very much Vic, in that case I can add to my pledge with out fear of losing my spot like I had hoped. YAY!

Out of curiosity, does this mean that someone who pledged a dollar on day one, then upped it to $100 on the final day will get all the daily deals?

@Steve Geddes - There are a much smaller number of changes than there are pledges. There are a VERY small number of people who pledged a tiny amount and then made a change in the last week. I haven't bothered to crunch to data in full yet, but I don't think there are enough cases to bother managing.

@Steve Geddes - Yes, that's exactly the problem. Kickstarter doesn't give us a transaction history in any usable format. In fact, I have to screen-scrape the web page, and Kickstarter uses some weird formatting so that even the screen scrape doesn't paste usefully into Excel. I have to basically dump it as raw text then write a parser to generate a usable change log that I can then import into data analysis tools.

This is just one of the many drawbacks of using KS. My wife owns part of a company that is thinking of doing something like this, but plan to use Indiegogo instead of KS, because of many reasons, including the fact that you still get any money pledged even if the stated goal isn't reached. The fact that Amazon/KS isn't providing the data in a useful manner is what has pretty much sealed the deal for them. Sorry to hear you have such a headache Ryan.

Ryan, thank you for the response. I agree, for most KS is a good platform, but smaller companies, like the one my wife has a small ownership of, other platforms work better. It is a niche company, and not likely to draw a huge response. Indiegogo is good for such things, especially as they are only looking for $20K for new equipment, and even a portion of that amount will be of big help to them.
For GW, or Reaper, as two examples of companies I backed on KS, it works out very well. I know I was concerned about GW achieving the goal, and I am sorry for that. I should have had more faith, and in the end you turned out to be 100% correct. I applaud you for sticking to your guns on that. My above post was sort of looking to compare apples to oranges and perhaps not as well thought out as it could have been. I apologize for that. the company I cited doesn't have a dedicated tech person, and no one with the skills to format raw data into a database via your method. It is, in fact, a very small company of less than 8 people doing the work - very different than GW. I should have noted that.
I am also proud of how things have turned out and to have been able to support GW in both KS campaigns. Hope this clears up my poor communication skills.

There is another way, but it's no less painful: every time somebody adjusts their pledge level, you get an email telling you what they've done, so you could write a script to digest those emails (and hope that none of them got stuck in the intertubes).
