Shaman?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Scarab Sages

I am digging around for a Shaman class for PFRPG. I have found a few created by 3rd party publishers and some fan-made shaman but I can't seem to find one designed by Paizo. Am I overlooking it? I am just curious if Paizo has taken a stab at it.

There is none. You can emulate it with the Witch or the Oracle, however.

Okay, thank you for the info. :)

I made a version of a shaman, using the oracle as a base, but using the druid spell list.

you can play a shaman, but they are druid and barbarian archetypes(totem warrior). but sadly nothing as amazing as the dragon shaman from 3.5

man if there was one class i would bring to pathfinder that would be it.

I made a version of that too. And played one from level 1 to 14. :-D

There is a Shaman class in an issue of Kobold magazine that is popular on these boards.

The Dragon Shaman is only exciting if you're hopped on being a melee caster. I prefer my shamans to be more caster oriented so my next PFS character may well be an Eagle Druid.

... and, you can can get it here :)

New Paths #2: The Expanded Shaman

Personally, I find the Witch fits my concept of a shaman better than the Oracle does. I especially love the "Scarred Witch Doctor" archetype from ARG, but that requires you to be an orc.

That's only fluff, which is mutable.

What's the difference between this shaman and the one I picked up in Kobold Quarterly?

Try the Witch archetype Scarred Witch Doctor from the ARG. It is only Orc-only but if you're not PFS you might ask your DM if it can be refluffed.

Also, I heard that there is a note somewhere that says that the feat Racial Heritage means that humans can multiclass into racial archetypes, such as the Scarred Witch Doctor. I couldn't find a single mention of that, but if it's true, it puts us all in the ridiculous situation where a Human could be a SWD, but a Half-Orc couldn't. Unless of course, Orc Blooded does the same thing for orc only archetypes. . .

It is the full class from Kobold Quarterly PLUS new archetypes, spells, totem secret, feats and spirit guieds. You also get a custom character sheet for your animal spirit guide AND a character sheet for your wildshape forms (which also wotks if you play a standard druid)

If you want to play a shaman, the class is worth checking out! :)

I'll have to take a look thanks. I always wanted to play a Shaman like in 4e, but I felt the SGG one was a little too complicated for my taste. I'll definitely pick this up and use it with the one from KQ. Thanks again! :)

Sounds good! I'm very happy with how the class turned out- hope you like it!

FYI, here's an early review:

Actually, there IS a Shaman class from Paizo. Page 35, Advanced Class Guide.

Thread is three years old so Shaman wasn't out back then.
