There was at least one publication that handled it poorly and got roundly yelled at for it. They quickly made the change.
It reminded me of the time at the second job where there was a host of information on transgender issues that was up around the office, we had taken a few trainings on it as well. At some point after that, not long, mayyyybe a couple of weeks, it was discovered that the information that was acquired was considered out of date, and within 24 hours, everything was taken down and replaced with more up to date info, and new trainings were scheduled.
I wonder if that is due to improved communication/technology, a society that moves faster as a result, or a people who are still coming to consensus with respect to proper forms of address, or some combination thereof.

For those that didn't see it in the news, introducing Elliot Page. Whishing him all the best for his transition and I am hoping that it will not hurt his career in movies. Looking forward to seeing more of his work.
I doubt it. He is an amazing actor and still a hot/openly discussed talent, they'll do fine.

This is good news:
The US Supreme Court has decided not to hear the appeal of the Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit decision that Oregon school district policy allowing students to use bathroom facilities that match their gender identity was not a violation of Title IX or the privacy rights of cisgender students.
Court Decision from 9th Circuit Appeals Court
1. School District adopts policy allowing transgender students to use the bathroom that corresponds to their gender identity.
2. Parents file a lawsuit in Federal District Court saying that the policy violates their (and their children's) rights to privacy and that it also violates Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX reads in full:
No person in the United States shall, based on sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
3. Federal District Court dismissed the case.
4. 'Parents For Privacy' appealed the dismissal to the Federal Appeals Court.
5. The Federal Appeals Court
The appeals court ruling upheld a lower court decision that found that “the school district policy didn’t violate the privacy rights of other students who object to sharing the spaces.” The court found that denying transgender students the ability to use the same facilities as other students would amount to illegal discrimination.
6. 'Parents For Privacy' appealed the Appeals Court ruling to the US Supreme Court.
7. The US Supreme Court rejected the appeal.
The Supreme Court essentially said, "That school board policy is fine, and does not violate anyone's rights. We don't need to hear this case."

So it has been a while since I gave a status update on myself...honestly it seemed alot of people are in a good place and did not want to bring people down.
If people remembered last February I got to go out presenting as female for the first time and it was awesome...I had plans to do that at least once a month. Than corvid and the lockdown happened. So I have been trapped at work (a place from what I have seen dont treat trans people well. That is to say more my co workers than the actually company) and at home where I can't come out.
I did come out to pretty much everyone else I know though. So I get atleast some outlet playing with them over Discord. But right now I feel like I have lost all momentum that I have gained over the past three years. Though I have I believe more opportunities going forward once things become more normal (fingers crossed).
Depressingly I have been subtly feeling out my siblings on the matter and I dont think it will go well with them.
So I have been pretty much depressed and frustrated this year but trying to cling to some hope.

Here's a hug and a friendly reminder that being depressed and frustrated about reality is not a bad thing. Times are hard, and especially hard for you. There's nothing wrong with feeling bad when life gets you down. You're still loved and accepted here. We're a little life jacket that will help keep you afloat.

And in the good legal news today, the Supreme Court decided not to hear another appeal.
(Indiana Attorney General took the position in Box v. Henderson that same-sex spouses should not have the same rights to be listed on state-issued birth certificates as opposite-sex spouses.)
By the time Indiana appealed its loss at the Seventh Circuit, SCOTUS would include Justice Amy Coney Barrett, and many court-watchers wondered whether the change to the bench would result in the Court’s eroding its landmark decision in Obergefell v. Hodges to allow the discrimination Indiana sought to conduct.
The Supreme Court’s denial of certiorari in Box v. Henderson means the Seventh Circuit’s decision stands. Advocates for LGBTQ+ rights have praised the Court’s denial not only for its practical implications, but also for its signal that the Court will uphold the Obergefell precedent.

Momentum has slowed, but remember that you have still been going forward. When the time is right, you will move forward faster again.

I hope everyone who celebrates had a good Christmas. Mine was mediocre, at first. My favorite gift is a small plush die that my niece and nephew chipped in part of their allowance to buy me.
I also got a gift from the government. They finally, after 6 weeks, sent me my updated Social Security card! I can finally start getting my life updated everywhere!

Hugs all around!
It's cold; it's a pandemic; vaccines are in short supply. Many reasons* for people to need** extra*** hugs!
*not that reasons are ever needed.
**or not need. Just enjoying them is fine.
*** are hugs ever extra? I mean, no such thing as too many hugs****, right?
****we're talking wanted hugs here. Every hug should be wanted.

If any of you ever purchased anything from Rogue Genius Games, you would be familiar with some of his art. Marc Curlee passed away today from COVID. He was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He never had the chance to fight. He started chemo and then went back into the hospital within a few days. He was a great guy. I only knew him from Facebook, but we had become good friends. The world is a little darker without him.
You can see his art here.
