In this lull between relationship dramas (I kid because I love...to kid.) is anybody youtube-obsessed? I think I'm starting to get there. I used to never use the site except to find specific videos.
Yes, it is one of the websites I am consistently on when on the computer aside from Paizo and a few others, I spend most of my days currently when not working, working out, or hanging out, playing PS3 and surfing the web. I often times watch humorous or educational videos and when not doing that I use youtube as a music video playlist.

It's been a week. Long, boring, sweaty (from work and living in FL, not for any GOOD reason).
And I'm wondering jut how big the mistake was, moving away from Alaska, where I spent the last 15 years. I'm feeling uber homesick, and there really isn't anything to be done about it for at the least several months.
And I keep getting older... my vast, magic powers have been on back-order since I was 8 years old, and are still nowhere to be found.
[/wallowing]
Sorry to derail the kitten conversation.

I'm in Florida now, visiting family. It is too hot in this place. I like visiting family, but there is almost nothing I like about Florida.
I think you have to live where you feel most comfortable. Maybe the opportunity will present itself after a few months.

No other Lady Gaga fans here then I take it?
Ah well, I guess I am a little sad=(
It’s all good though, I know she is a love of mine that can sometimes seem a little odd to the outside observer. I recently had an older gay friend of mine ask me why so many teen and just- were- teen gay kids seem to love her so much, to him, she seemed tacky and talentless.
“It is simple.” I told him. “Explanation: Lady Gaga is my generations’ Madonna. End of explanation.”
“Ohhhhh, I understand now, I get it.” He replied.
I still can’t get him to listen to her, but I do feel we’ve closed the generation gap a bit=)

Those are slanderous and terrible lies and you should smack anyone who promotes them!
A conspiracy theory, harrumph!
I mean sure, we fans behave like fanatical cultists in our worship of the Mother Monster and sure, we are so brainwashed into accepting and celebrating each others differences that when she begins to work her fleshchanging magic to transform us into a legion of actual Little Monsters nothing will even seem out of place to us and sure, she is planning on triggering the apocalypse when she sings the final lines of born this way at the….oh…uh oh, I think I’ve said too much….Lady Gaga is going to accept me into tiny bloody chunks for this, isn’t she? =(

I don't really like Gaga's music, but I am happy to see an artist in the pop genre who bothers to use lyrical themes that are deeper than "my boyfriend broke up with me."
If more pop artists tried to spread positive self-esteem messages like Gaga and Perry I would respect the genre more, if not the music itself (just doesn't do anything for me).
So it's safe to say I'm not a fan of the music but I am a fan of the person.

I like Lady Gaga! I was just listening to a local band cover Paparazzi this morning (I'd link to the Youtube video but I've Leechblocked that at work).
A friend of mine gave me the Jem and the Holograms DVD so I've been listening to the Holograms and the Misfits (their songs ARE better). Jem or Pizzazz, talk about predecessors to Lady Gaga....
And positive messages for diversity....
What we feel is what we feel
All the rest is no big deal
What we have is good and true
And it's only between me and you...
Also, yes, I am 12, thanks for asking.
For non cartoon music, I've been listening to Amy Ray's latest album a lot (she is one-half of the Indigo Girls), after seeing her perform live a few months ago. Love love love her stuff.
Also it's so awesome to me to see both Indigo Girls doing so well after all these years (they're touring together now). Considering their first album came out in something like 1987 and they're on their 15th now...

Speaking of Jem:
There is an amazing redub of several old 80's Jem cartoons.
By amazing I mean horribly offensive and laced with profanity, crude humour, and enough questionable content to ensure just about everyone is offended by the end of any given episode.
You can find it on YouTube as "J&+z"
And for Crom's sake, don't type that into google.

I have seen it. (Samantha Newark, the speaking voice for Jem in the original cartoon, thinks it's hilarious.) Some of it's really funny, some is a little too OTT for me. I liked the one that parodies the Kimber/Stormer duo (oh my god if there were ever subtext in 80s cartoons...). Definitely is NSFW (dialogue wise). And if you want to search for it, best thing to do is search for it IN YOUTUBE and make sure in addition to the parody title, you include "Jem Holograms" as well, to filter out the more unsavory alternatives that may show up.
(Also, speaking of Samantha Newark, she is also a singer--even though she did not sing for Jem--and has some awesome albums out.)

I like Lady Gaga. I actually like the whole package. She's camp and knows it. The whole point is to make a spectacle and be ridiculous and a bit dirty. I am also informed that her work displays something of an insiders-view of sex industry.

My little company, 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming, recently made this announcement:
4 Winds Fantasy Gaming wishes to publicly announce their support of LGBT rights. We fully support the rights of the LGBT community to live their lives without interference from those who oppose them on religious and/or moral grounds, including their rights to marry.
4 Winds Fantasy Gaming has utilized and will continue to utilize the talents and skills of many members of the LGBT community as freelance artists, writers, and playtesters. They are our friends, and our family. We are proud to know them, to work with them, to hire them, to support them – and to game with them.

BTW, I posted these for their humor factor. Just to make sure everyone knows that. I don't subscribe to these wacky theories. There are plenty of others that I can latch onto.

Replace "puppet" with "master" and I personally agree completely with these articles ;)

Although, I will say, while I can properly be called a superfan of Lady Gaga I am aware that she does occasionally send messages that prolly aren’t the greatest.
Example: Just Dance
Yes Gaga, because nothing bad has ever happened to a woman at a club who is so intoxicated that she doesn’t even know where she is, that just isn’t the world we live in.
Not that I can hold it against her, as that is very much my attitude as well when in the mood to get smashed: I obviously have had too much to drink? Eh, I’ll just have another eight shots and dance it off. =)

I got just the opposite message from that song. If you read the lyrics it's clearer. The refrain seems to be about the narrator telling herself it's ok even though she knows she's smashed out of her mind and probably got date raped. It's written as an upbeat song, but lots of really dark songs are.
But then I rarely find a song interesting unless I can drag something horrible out of it. I might have been permanently damaged by deciding that Wednesday Addams, as played by Christina Ricci, was a role model.

Hehe, Wednesday, yeah, and you might be right about that song, I’m not sure.
I personally think that it is really funny when artists that are widely considered very bright and happy make really dark declarations (which I think I have mentioned to you before, can’t remember).
My two most favorite examples:

Here's the Amy Ray song getting the most spin on my mp3 player: Little Revolution
And here's the Paparazzi cover I was talking about, Lesbian garage band style: Paparazzi performed by the Pushovers

I'm straight myself and love her music although I'm not overly attracted to her -something I find unusual.
I'm a 48 y/o, straight, fat greybeard, but I find myself weirdly liking Lady Gaga. Even covers of her songs hold up well. For example, "Bad Romance" by Halestorm.
Have you ever read the conspiracy articles about her connections to the Masons or the Illuminati? Funny, but weird, stuff.

Also straight, also really like Lady Gaga. She's just a good musician, really.
