Logistics of being a Druken Brute

Advice

I'm curious how people may have dealt with the logistical issue of being a druken brute.

sure you can get a drink at any tavern but apart from bar fights adventuring tends to happen away from the bar.

Also for easy access when raging what would you use to hold the tasty beverage ?

Now before anyone start mentioning thing like move actions to drink and draw let me just say that I'm running this character in a game where the GM has made it a houserule that with a feat (or raging drunk) you can drink as a swift and with quickdraw you can draw a potion or drink as a free, so I could potentially be downing booze every round

back on topic

Would it be reasonable for a Druken brute to carry around 1 or more gallons of ale strapped to his back in either skins or small drums ?

Have a belt with multiple small skins filled with ale for easy access to pull and drink.

would a hose over his shoulder that he can suck back on be out of the question ?

How would you play it or how would you like to see one of your players playing it ?

You keep saying druken brute instead of drunken brute. I'd assume your "n" key was broken except there's are n's all over the place in your post.

look I've already paid my monthly bribe to the grammar police and the spelling police, I aint got no more to give.

Isn't there an item of endless sake in the lastest adventure path installment? 4k gp and has various boosting capabilities?

I tend to 'fill up' when I'm in town. But I don't micro-manage it. I buy a waterskin full and more or less replace the content when I feel I did drink most of it.

Another issue is the Great Axe (or any two handed weapon) that my HalfOrc Barbarian carries with himself. I tend to solve it the following way:

Barbarian goes in raging with Axe.

Barbarian takes a drink while raging. He can hold the Greataxe one handed drink with the other one to avoid storing it (no complains from any GMs here so far) - but it rules out that he swings it the same round.

For this I use Bladed Boots. Allows me to drink and kick. Guess the enemy didn't see this one coming.

The boots are inferior to the axe - but I feel it is more fitting. And yes - it also means I do this preferably against weaker opponents where I want to keep up the rage for longer but where a Greataxe might be overkill.

nice I was thinking toothy + fiend totem for a bite + gore attack when I want to drink and attack in the same round

Yes - if applicable he uses fiend totem for the gore as well. He has a multitude of weapons / attack options.

He isn't using toothy. I just can't picture him that way.

Is there not some mug of endless cheap wine made by worshipers of Caydan Caylen?

probably but initially i kinda like the idea of having to lug around a drum of ale to refil pouch sized skins to drink on the run

Buy a bag of holding and put a spiggot in the mouth where it closes. Fill it with the best ale you can afford.

For added fun, keep the bag on your head and the spigot in your mouth.

So bag of holding beer hats then? Sounds like a very useful set up for drinking based characters.

I was thinking maybe a length of cured pig gut to use as a hose.

Dark Archive

There used to be an item in 3.5's Drow of the Underdark where a pouch is attach to a cloak or armor, and a straw was run to the mouth area. It allows drinking a potion not provoke an AoO, and of course you don't have to grab the potion.

Not sure if that exists in PF.

nice item although the Raging Drunk ability allows you to drink without provoking AoO's, but not having to grab it is handy.

If you have a dwarf in you party who can bless water then it should give you an endless supply of alcohol. Dwarven holy water is(or was in 3.5) typically some form of beer, mead or spirit. Gotta love the dwarves.

Water to wine love it :P

Make sure you are travelling with a cleric of Cayden Cailean, they can produce alchohol instead of water with the create water orison (unlimited booze on demand!)

Ring gates. Put one in the bottom of a hogshead (approx. 63 gallons)of the alcohol of your choice. Carry the other with you. Instant access to your booze whenever you need it.

There are spells that turn water to wine.

came up with a fun item with my GM called Quick Qaffs, pair of bracers that each hold 3 flasks of liquid and are considered held without using the hands.

dose take up bracers slot though but worth it imo
