Rogue with a gun archetype

Rules Questions

In the ULtimate combat there seems to be a class+gun

Archetype for about every class do we have that for a rogue?

I am looking at a han soloish character

There are rogue talents to get firearm training and grit.

Urban Skirmisher Ranger would probably be how I would do han solo though.

so would gunslinger level 1/rogue level 19 be better than rogue with the 2 talents.....

At level 20? Dunno.

Before level 20 though? Probably. Extra BAB and saves never hurt anyone, IMO.

lol i was using it has an example

Silver Crusade

What is the tech level and accessibility of firearms ?
In a setting with commonplace guns (and thus, rare, costly and hard to wield), the Swashbuckler rogue archetype would get this proficiency for free at level 1 thanks to the free Martial Weapon Proficiency.

Regardless, for Han, I'd almost recomend Archaeologist, and focus the magical aspect of things on things which are not easily recognized as magic (Buffs like Heroism, Good Hope) etc. or enchantments to represent your charming personality and almost supernatural ability to fool people, like suggestion. (I dunno, fly casual?)

With a level of Mysterious Stranger, perhaps.

If you want to play with guns I suggest this house rules that me and my party are using http://paizo.com/forums/dmtz4w33?Firearms-suggestions

If you just want to use a gun, a dip will work.

If you want to be great at guns, you need to be a gunslinger.

Han is totally a Mysterious Stranger archetype. I'm a fan of that archetype since it's not DEX based, and I can pump STR for melee damage as well. It's the best thing we have currently for lots of pirates or wild west tough guys (none of them had a 10 STR IMO).

Having seen a Pistolero from 3-9, and the way misfires work... the usefulness of the Mysterious Stranger's level 5 ability can't be understated either.

I use a inquisitor (preacher) with guns. Awesome.

do you just take the gun smithing feat and the proficiency? It seems to me that you can use a gun assuming it is the standard gun rules but if you want to be a pistol wielding monster murderer you have to take gun slinger correct?

I have a character i am playing now and thinking of when he dies doing a gun themed PC

1. a rogue/ninja with a gun

2. a gunslinger

3. or a paladin with a gun maybe do mysterious stranger and paladin or take the paladin gun archetype

4. or do a ranger with a whip and a gun and call him "Mwangi Jack" since we are running serpents skull

has any body had any luck with non gunslinger classes picking up the feats so you can wield a firearm?

I would say the pirate archetype with the firearm training rogue talent.

May I ask why? I would like to get your thoughts on it...

Pirate seems to be as close as any class or archetype gets to Han Solo, in fluff at least (or it does in my mind at any rate) you could take the firearm training talent at second level, the earliest level you can actually get firearm proficiency as a rogue.
