Hiro is so tired of making up stories for PbP's that die after a week that he will make a backstory at least half as good as the half orc alchemist if chosen.
Plus how could someone with his name ignore a damsel in distress.

Why is number 6 not a circumstance(official game term) bonus since it is the circumstance(situation) that is granting the bonus. A competence bonus is always on. A circumstance bonus takes place only in certain situations.

Also there are typos like dwarvish and his perception modifier is wrong. The language is dwarven.

I should have had it be circumstance sorry got those two confused when typing it. Thank you for fixing it.

Sorry for not posting my character earlier, I already made him though, just really have a hard time navigating these forums. Some basic stuff follows:
Hemmet Jasento (Human Druid 1)
Hemmet was an orphan, the end result of a torrid love between the valiant crusader Ser Godfrey Jasento the Valliant and the fair maiden he took as his bride, Miss Evelyn. He remembers little of them, save that his father died as valliantly as he lived protecting his mother from a passing band of orcs in a forest clearing near the site where Ser Godfrey had chosen to make his home when he was but 3 years old. Due to his motheers loving efforts, Hemmet was safe in his hiding spot, to later be found by a passing druid, who took the toddler back to his circle, where it was decieed the boy should be brought up in their traditions.
And with the druids he was brought up. He came to love the forest as his parents had, and the foundation of earth beneath it, and venerated them properly. However, his soul always ccalled to the sky, to fly with the birds, to feel the mists of the clouds against his skin, feel the wind against his face. For this he has trained; yet, he never could come to devote his whole heart to study, as the orcs came to be a growing problem, ravaging the forest and killing its animals. As such Hemmet has put his druidly duties on hold to try to find help against these scourges who desecrate the forest.

Hiro is much humbled and tweaked. New background.
As a student of magic at an early age, Hiro was an adequate student but found his life lacking. He ran into an old dwarf weapon master who taught him the use of the katana. Although Hiro had tried to wield martial weapons before, the katana turned out to be the only weapon for him. His unique aptitude and rising knowledge caused jealousy amongst some of his peers and they often ridiculed him for needing to use a fancy sword as a crutch.
His mentor told him it is seldom that a hero is appreciated in the land of his birth. So Hiro is seeking his fortune and destiny elsewhere.

Ohhhh where do I start with this.
Well part of the reason you're not in games that last more than a week is likely the attitude you're taking here. Your character says to me "I am not going to put any effort into the game and contribute nothing. I will rip a character straight from a popular cyberpunk novel and drop it in a medieval fantasy game. Additionally I will not even bother with a backstory past two lines."
Really? You're asking someone to spend effort on running a game for you when you won't spend the effort to make a character for yourself. If you want to get into a game that lasts longer than a week you have to prove you spent more than five minutes writing the character.
What you did, and why it bothers me so much, is that you put in the equivalent of a drizzt clone without even going through the effort of reskinning it to at least look different. Worse, you couldn't even grace us with a completed or correct character sheet you submitted in essence a pile of nothing then complained about wasting your time.
EDIT - That's a little better. Thank you for at least thinking about what you're doing wrong.

Both points are well taken.
You obviously are putting work in this, and I promise a background worthy of consideration tonight.
If you need to check my bona fides (commitment and posting rate), you can check out this avatar in another game. As for Drizzt clones, I don't like them either. At least I don't have two scimitars and a figurine of wondrous power. In all honesty I can't take credit for creating Ereviss, as it was actually a pregen.
Anyway, I always wanted to try out the new magus. The kensai seems nerfed with no armor proficiency, but I like it anyway. Hiro will look better tonight.

If you do not take the winter witch archtype as taht is in inner sea magic which I do not have yet. The witch could work well.

Backstory-
Nesteruk is a Half-Orc born to the chieftain of the Black Sun tribe in the Hold of Belkzen; a savage and proud clan of warriors that trace their lineage back to Belkzen himself. A magnificent prophecy had been made about the two twin boys that his favourite captive concubine was expecting; in particular the elder son was predicted to be even greater than his father and would grow up to unite the tribes in order to pillage and destroy the hated nation of Lastwall. With her considerable magical powers, the tribe's seer was able to ascertain two life forms growing within the human concubine, and marked the two with a special arcane mark, a tiny glowing rune on each of their developing foreheads. By this mark, the Seer had established even before his birth that Nesteruk would be inferior to his brother.
This kind of prophecy was a common and rather hopeful tactic used by many shamans to tribal chief's in order to appease them, but this tribe took the prophecy to heart- and were utterly devastated when only one twin emerged from the birth, the one marked as the lesser, the one whose fate was simply to serve the tribe in any capacity he could. Yet the Seer could detect the destined twin's rune glowing from inside Nesteruk's tiny body- somehow, the unborn child has engulfed his brother while growing, absorbing his tissue inside his own and turning him into an unliving mass of tissue inside him, a parasite. As the son of the chief, Nesteruk's father was reluctant to kill him but in his rage almost did so, his axe coming within inches of slaying the baby.
Nesteruk was brought up on the beatings of his Orc father, who along with most of the tribe, blamed him for the strange birth and was generally seen as a bad omen. Nesteruk did his best to use his considerable strength to build himself up as a warrior to earn his father's respect, but no matter what he accomplished compared to the other young Orc's, it was never enough. The tribe declined and with its decline the beatings intensified; until eventually at the young age of twelve, Nesteruk fled.
The inexperienced child was promptly captured by a Lastwall patrol, but his keenness to surrender and willingness to co-operate with them spared him a swift death, the kind usually given to Orc's and half-Orc's crossing the border from Belkzen. The patrol leader, a half-orc Gorumite himself serving Vigil between crusades, eventually adopted the lad and brought him to his home in Vigil; and slowly over time people began to accept the boy, although he was frequently unliked and faced prejudice based on his race.
It took several years, but Nesteruk eventually learnt some advanced alchemy at the Tribune Hall in Vigil. Nesteruk grew into an intelligent and earnest young man who dutifully obeyed the laws of Lastwall and served Vigil against the other side of his ancestry, the savage, Orcish side he had rejected. He even served in Vigil's militia for some time, having taken the oaths to defend it and thus allowed to bear arms inside the city. His deep acceptance of the human side of his mixed blood and ancestry was a stark contrast to his appearance, for he was far more Orc than man, with a hulking physique and powerful tusks (although he did his best to keep these presentable, particularly in the miltiia).
His interest in alchemy grew when he discovered that the flesh from some parts of his body was a slightly different skin tone than others; further investigation revealed over time that the chemical properties of the skin was different too. Putting the pieces of the puzzle together with the scraps of knowledge he had learnt from his abusive father, he understood that somehow, his twin lived on in certain parts of his body, although only as a parasite. Barely understanding what he decided to undertake, the half-orc decided to finally atone for his pre-birth sin, and resolved to cultivate and grow the organic legacy his unborn brother had left in him. Nesteruk was content enough with his lot but had no close friends and his adopted father was only home in Vigil between crusades. He reasoned to himself that surely, with enough research, magic and power- his brother could be grown once more from the living parts of hiw own body, a piece at a time. To finally have the companionship the boy craved, to finally have a brother; he decided to pursue the idea as far as his intellect would allow him. He even decided that he would convince his twin to embrace the human way of life like he had, and surely if he had been predicted to unite the tribes he would be a powerful warrior and ally; it would surely be wrong, both for himself and Vigil, not to try?
Nesteruk has been making research notes on his obsession quietly in his journal, not sharing his work with anyone. He recently began to run low on some rare alchemical ingredients he needed to try a new avenue of flesh growth on his abdomen, and visited a local alchemist there to get what he needed. Staying overnight, Nesteruk became concerned when he heard of the two disappearances. Lastwall's military forces didn't seem to have much of a presence in the little hamlet and he understood that volunteers would soon be called upon to investigate. He would not hesitate to give back to the fine country that had become his home, being a patriotic sort.
Appearance: Nesteruk is a towering, brawny half-orc and is incredibly ugly. His pearly white teeth and tusks are kept carefully maintained and brushed each morning and his head is shaved, having learnt long ago that alchemical experiments and hair don't tend to go well together- his singed eyebrows are also a testament to this truth. Despite his clear allegiance to Lastwall, Nesteruk still favors the weapons he fought with growing up; the greataxe, the javelin and the dagger he keeps in an expensive spring-loaded sheath for emergencies. He is reasonably well-dressed and when not in his home city of Vigil he wears Lamellar breastplate armour, lighter than the conventional metal and allowing him freedom of movement. In battle he is somewhat ferocious, fighting with brutal and powerful blows that hes not squeemish about sticking where it hurts while his foe is distracted.
Personality: Nesteruk is an honourable man and is somewhat blunt; dishonesty does not come naturally to him. He is proud of himself and is disdainful of those who have never had to 'hold the line'. He is somewhat disgusted with his own appearance and ancestry but simultaneously keen to disprove the typical assumptions made of a half-orc bearing weapons. The proudest moment of his life was when he took the oaths to Vigil and had the Shield-Mark branded onto his skin, and until recently he identified most strongly with Iomedae, the patron deity of Vigil. However, his recent obsession with his lost brother has caused him to begin to secretly venerate Imbrex, the First World entity made up of two statue-like siblings. He prays to Imbrex to help him find the strength to re-unite himself with his brother and give him a second chance at life.

Okay now taking track of who has submitted what.
Tierre Von Nebernitz backgroudn and character sheet.
Meverix Background and character sheet still need to spend gold.
Jondar character sheet no background
Chardak sheet and background
Symas sheet and background
Anna background and sheet but do not really want winter witch archtype
Hemmet background no sheet
Hiro much improved background and character sheet which I don't think the starting should have 899 platnum so check final gold.
Adam WArnock and Morrin expressed interest in playing but have not submitted characters or backgrounds yet. I think I have enough players here to make a party so no more new submissions spent a lot of time going over the submissions already.

GM_wu, I've already put Kydan's background into his alias profile but for ease of reference here it is again.
Background
==========
Having grown up with two argumentative parents, Kydan learnt the hard way that it is never good to take things for granted. He was a playful kid with a older sister too old and intellectually superior to guide him, Kydan constantly found himself getting into trouble with the family's various Varisian neighbours, causing no end of strife for the already breaking family so unlike his sister who had discovered her magical talents at the age of 12 and was packed off to Absalom's Arcanamirium Crafter to become the family wizard.
The absence of his sister only worsened the family condition; Kydan's elven mother threatening to return home to Kyonin and Kydan's human father only interested in sealing the next business deal. At the age of 16, his parents split ways and abandoned him to fend for himself, both not wanting anything to do with their skill-less son.
Left to drift by himself and lacking any useful skills or magical aptitude, Kydan plied the only trade he knew; entertaining people and thus he worked for 12 years as a courtesan, selling his charming smile and soothing presence to every town or city the Varisian nomads he traveled with settled in. Through his years of "service", Kydan spent his time dreaming of the things he wishes he could do but never could; praying to many a god that they would grant him a spark of magic or talent that would free him from his mundane lifestyle.
It is only in the last 2 years that Kydan's dreams have been plagued with more than his imagination; glimpses of spells long forgotten, sudden chills along his skin whenever he dreams of the future and whispers of powers he could have if only he would open himself to them. He found himself able to cause the sounds he imagined in his head to sound in real life or even conjure images of things he saw only in his mind.
Not knowing what to do with his powers, he used his powers to entertain his clients for a time, feeling a lack of achievement as the years went by. 2 years later and in the present, Kydan resolved to travel to Absalom to find out the source of his power and hopefully, make peace with his sister.
As for spending gold, that's what I wanted to ask you about. The book says that characters start with...oh, sorry. Just read that characters start with an outfit worth 10 gp.
When they mentioned outfit, I thought they meant starting gear. Have modified starting gold.
| Jondar Millner |
My background is in my profile but I'll post it here.
Jondar’s life has been one of difficulty and tragedy; his mother died while giving birth to him and even the powers of Pharasma were unable to save her. He only survived the birth through divine intervention, a priest of Pharasma was present at the birth and used powerful magic to save his life but his mother’s life was the price for his life.
After the death of Jondar’s mother his father began to drink heavily and soon was the town drunk. The farm fell into disrepair by the time Jondar was 8 and this was when the beating started. At the age of 12 his father died from choking on his own vomit and Jondar was sent to live with his uncle in Ravengo.
Jondar left his past behind and tried to start a new life in Ravengro and for the next five years life was good he worked on his Uncle Trevor’s farm. At the age of 17 his uncle pasted away and he reluctantly took over his uncle’s farm but felt he was wasting his life. A few months later he met his future wife Maria while attending mass at the church of Pharasma. She was an acolyte of Pharasma and Jondar began to spend more time at the church trying to get close to her. During one of these visits he attracted the notice of Father Grimburrow, who said he has been touch by the hand of Pharasma and he should join the church. Jondar soon became an acolyte; at first it was just to be close to Maria but soon he found that his faith in Pharasma was growing and his life finally had meaning.
Three years pasted and Jondar finally became a priest of Pharasma. It was then that he decided he would marry Maria and asked her the next day. Nine months later Maria gave birth to a baby girl and Jondar felt that this was the life he was meant to lead.
For the next four years life couldn’t have been any better for Jondar and his family. That was when tragedy stroke; while he was at a nearby farm doing Pharasma’s work his house caught fire and his wife and daughter were killed. Jondar had a severe crisis of faith; unable to see why Pharasma would give him such gifts and then take them away. After the burial of his family Jondar left Ravengro with the clothes on his back, not knowing where he was going but just wanting to be away from there.
Jondar began drinking heavily while he wandered Ustalav; many times waking in the gutter outside of a tavern not knowing how he got there. This continued until about 3 months ago when Jondar awake from a dream he believed was sent to him from Pharasma. In the dream he saw a castle and it was near this castle that he would find redemption and that Pharasma was preparing him for the challenges ahead of him. He sought the nearest church of Pharasma and spoke to the Father who agreed that it was a vision sent to him from Pharasma and that the castle he describe was Castle Everstand in Lastwall.

Okay now taking track of who has submitted what.
Tierre Von Nebernitz backgroudn and character sheet.
Meverix Background and character sheet still need to spend gold.
Jondar character sheet no background
Chardak sheet and background
Symas sheet and background
Anna background and sheet but do not really want winter witch archtype
Hemmet background no sheet
Hiro much improved background and character sheet which I don't think the starting should have 899 platnum so check final gold.Adam WArnock and Morrin expressed interest in playing but have not submitted characters or backgrounds yet. I think I have enough players here to make a party so no more new submissions spent a lot of time going over the submissions already.
And I had expressed interest with a character sheet linked to my profile. So I am unsure of whether you didn't realize I had submitted a character or have already decided not to accept it.

@Gm_wu That's actually a good idea. I've not actually played a proper DnD game before so I guess I should ask. How good are Sorcerers in melee? Coz I was thinking of a melee wielding sorcerer of some sort.
>.<
That question kinda answers itself huh... I guess I'll go switch weapons then.
Edit:
Done and done ^^ Thanks for the suggestion.

GM Wu - It looks like therealthom is also interested in playing a half-orc, albeit with a considerably different background. I actually think it would be interesting to explore the two different attitudes, but you might feel it's too much orc. I'm happy to tweak my background a bit and change to human if this is the case.
Very gallant of you PbemDM. I, of course, reciprocate the offer. Perhaps a half-elven or human inquisitor of Cayden Cailean could take Chardak's place if GM_wu thinks the party would be too orcy and prefers Tiere? I'll await GM_wu's decision with interest.

Background: Karthan Sternmason might have been a bright young lad with a hugely bright future within the Lastwall military ahead of him had he not the misfortune of being paired with the wrong sort of commander. Born into a prominent military family and educated by the finest tutors it seemed his ascension into officer status was all but assured. Sadly that day never came.
His commander was an unrepentant glory hound willing to see his troops cut down to the last man all for the sake of victory. In a sense Sternmason did rise very quickly within the ranks of the army just not in a way he would have wanted. As soldier after soldier got cut down in valiant last stands and desperate charges in the name of meaningless victories and useless gains of which the only one elft alive to take credit was this terrible commander.
Eventually Karthan became disillusioned with the commander and increasingly angry at the terrible costs of blood and morale he was enacting on his men. During one desperate charge against a band of orcs that outnumbered them three to one when they were expecting reinforcements the next day. Karthan confronted his commander to protest this gross recklessness. Arguments became heated and in a fit of rage KArthan attacked the man and killed him taking what was left of the men and leading them away from the orcs in time for the reinforcements to arrive and take them out.
Submitting himself to a military trial Karthan was found guilty of insubordination and assault on a superior officer. However due to the extenuating circumstances and Karthans brilliant career it was decided that his punishment was to be summarily dismissed from service and stripped of all honors.
Shamed Karthan has since been wandering his home nation trying to prove both to himself and his scandalized family that he is an honorable man and a patriot in every sense of the word. He has endeavoured to try and form a mercenary army, a group dedicated to the cause of Lastwall without being of lastwall itself. He plans on funding this endeavour through adventuring and doing great deeds to inspire. Where he failed to be a soldier he endeavours to be a hero for Lastwall. A champion that his nation so very much deserves.
Personality:
hieght: 6'6"
weight:212 lbs.
hair: Brown
eyes: brown
skin: tanned

This is Karthan nearly done. I did not pick out the tactician feat as of yet as I want to be sure what the rest of the group will be like beforehand.

I was thinking of building a Witch as the only 'pure' arcane caster that I've seen mention of so far was a Sorcerer so I won't be stepping on too many toes with that(and thus hopefully not making character selection more difficult)
The concept I've got working is that my character would have from a young age felt a bit 'odd' always preferring to spend her time out in the woods rather than really socializing (usually accompanied by her sister) until one day on one of her morning walks she found that she was being followed by a small lizard-like creature(a Compsognathus) at first she didn't really feel comfortable with such an odd creature following her but after a few days of the creature following her in the woods she decided to see WHY it was following her and approached it expecting the little thing to just run off to who/what was making it follow her, instead the creature remained where it had been standing as she came closer until she was right up next to it. Confused by the creature's apparent lack of fear of her she tried to pick it up and again to ehr surprise it did nothing to stop her and in fact as she made contact with the creature she felt a strange sort of connection with it.
As time passed and her bond with her new 'pet' grew she began to feel the connection between herself and "Nathus" grow and as the bond grew strange things began to happen, due to her general 'odd' behavior most other children in the village saw her as a rather easy target to pick on, something that she had long since become accustomed to, however in more recent years an occasional fight would crop up as the taunting got more a bit too personal for her tastes, as the bond grew between herself and Nathus she began to find that she could react to things faster than her peers and occasionally strange things would happen to those who made her particularly angry.
This all came to a head when a local boy took Nathus because he 'wanted to wierd lizard-thing' and shoved her little sister when she tried to get Nathus back for her, Mirai ran at the boy grabbing his face and arm in an attempt to scare him into releasing Natus but as she did so she felt a strange energy flow through her fingertips and into the boy and almost immediately he was left unconscious. Form that day forward it became quite obvious that there really was something 'odd' about Mirai. After the incident those in the town who were magically inclined were able to deduce that Mirai was a Witch, albeit an untrained one and so in order to prevent and similar problems Mirai was taught how to properly control and actually use her powers and what exactly it meant to be a Witch.
For three years Mirai left the village in order to seek training under an actual Witch, however she has since stopped her finished her initial training and returned to her home village after hearing of her sister's disappearance.

This works well how soon can you get the character sheet finsihed? Sorry for not answering your question earlier.

GM_wu, I was wondering if I could switch all my shadow descriptor spells to originate from the Dimension of Dreams instead.
Everything about the spells will remain the same save for the aesthetic feature of where they are from.
I was wondering if I could have this for all spells which I pick later which have a shadow Plane origin save for darkness spells.

If Hiro's rich parents trait is OK (900 gp to start) he was going to be selfless and buy a wand of Cure Light Wounds for the group so the divine casters wouldn't be stuck healing all the time with their spells.
He currently just bought a katana and some basic possessions.
Equip yourself, we can pool money very quickly to buy one by level 2.

I think I have decided on the party after a night of sleep. I think Karthan, Nesteruk, Jondar, Chardak, Anna, and Symas made it to the party will have IC and ooc thread up shortly.
One problem is Anna seems to have a 25 point buy not 20 but seemed a character with a strong background.
Everyone else pay attention if I post in this thread again and can act as backups.
