ok I was randomly reading UC and when I saw the djinn feat chains and this weird idea came to me, I could mix a monk of the four winds, with a quiggong monk and the efreet feat chain to make a dragon ball character!
the quiggong would aloud me to kame hame scorching ray, id have fire fists and some fire resistance, and at lvl 17 (kinda high I know) I`d truly become a super saiyan with my golden hair and flight :D
obviously what im looking here is to optimize the fun and not the blasty kung fu thing, so, how would you build this? any other suggestion? (maybe a namek monk LOL?)

Just what I played around with:
Ninja 2, Qing Gong Sensei of the Four Winds 18
Loses: Flurry of blows, fast movement, evasion, improved evasion, bonus feats, slow fall, high jump, diamond body, diamond soul, quivering palm, tongues of sun and moon, empty body, and perfect self.
Gains: inspire courage, remove disease, wholeness of body, restoration, neutralize poison, abundant step, dragon's breath, vanish, mirror image, feather fall, smoke bomb and can use ki points to apply any of these to all his allies within 30 feet... Among a few other neat knick-knacks.
Realize this guy can use restoration, wholeness of body, remove disease, and neutralize on the entire party for the same cost he can just use it on himself, in addition to abundant step, dragon's breath, vanish, mirror image, feather fall and smoke bomb.
Not a saiyan, but very close and all you have to do is change a few points and you'll be right where you want to be.

well its an interesting idea what you posted but I think that stuff like fast movement and flurry are mandatory in a DBZ like character, also high jump and evasion, they spent like a ton of chapters jumping, and flurrying while they fell n stuff like that
anyways, this thread is not like "please help me build a goku" but more a "lets have fun building a goku" ;)

Drop sensei and you get back flurry, evasion, improved evasion and your feats and fast movement.
I like Ninja for the mirror image, and once you have dimensional savant an extra d6 isn't a bad thing at all. Personally I would take dragon style over the others since it increases your unarmed strike damage, and bloody crow strike or whatever it is would be fine for a bunch of energy attacks. Personally I would like having the restoration and such too -- just too useful to not have and would represent their ability to get back up really well.

The "literary/historical" Son Goku was definitely a Four Winds Quiggong Monk (Monkey)/Sorcerer (Shaitan or Elemental Earth bloodline). I understand that the Kirin is more in tune with Dragonball Z... but for the first series, it's no doubt Monkey!

Unfortunately however D20/Pathfinder is seriously lacking feats and monk powers that will allow you to shatter the Moon in one blow.
ki touch admantine is a start...
Depending on the character taking Martial artist isnt a horrendous idea either. goes well with barbarian.
if you can rock enough charisma take the feats that give you a sorc blood line and pick up the Orc bloodline. you dont need both the 3rd and 9th level powers, but they are both usefull
you get;
Touch of Rage (Sp): At 1st level, you can touch a creature as a standard action, giving it a morale bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls, and Will saving throws equal to 1/2 your sorcerer level (minimum 1) for 1 round. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier.
Fearless (Ex): At 3rd level, you gain a +4 bonus on saving throws made against fear and a +1 natural armor bonus. At 9th level, you lose your light sensitivity, gain immunity to fear, and your natural armor bonus increases to +2.
Strength of the Beast (Ex): At 9th level, you gain a +2 inherent bonus to your Strength. This bonus increases to +4 at 13th level, and to +6 at 17th level.
Power of Giants (Sp): At 15th level, you may grow to Large size as a standard action. prerewuisites: dex 13, wis 13, elemental fist, imp. unarmed strike, ki pool.
benefit: as a swift action you can expend a (ki point) to cloak yourself in flame. any creature that striles you with a melee attack takes 1d6 flame damage. this lastes 1 round. when you take this feat you gain an extea ki point
ki blast
prerequisites: same
benefit: spend 2 ki points as a move action to creat an orb of raw ki energy, you can throw the orb as a standard action with a range of 60 feet. this ranged touch attack deals 3d6 + wis mod damage and is a force effect. if you fail to throw the orb before the end of your turn it dissipates harmlessly. when you take this feat you gain an extea ki point

A feat that doubles your ki pool for a shot time, and doubles your ki point useage i.e. You use one ki to boust your speed with this feat you effectivly use two for the price of one. At the cost of Con damage. Only can be used with f. Ki defence ( kaio-ken)
A feat that lets you do a kamahama-ha
By expending all your remaining ki points to do a ranged touch attack that deals 1d6/X fire and force damage that pushes whatever is in the blast line with a bull rush bonus of X. X being the # of ki points used.
(can be used with kaio-ken)
Yes these feats should have high level reqs.

I'd totally focus on pre Z dragonball. But that's just me. You never get to see any real martial arts or cool techniques like the after image technique or goku actually fighting with the Nyoi-bō. just really quick punches and overdone generic blasts. I love dragon ball z, but dragon ball was more fun to me.

i like both, dragon ball (not the movie) and DBZ, (and i guess GT as well) for different reasons. which i wont get into...
but for pf, id go with db as a model instead of DBZ, cuz super sayan is equil to about a level 40 monk which is way to epic for pf.

well i never meant to actually play this, its just something i thought for fun. Anyways, we could build a little goku, a supersaiyan goku or any other character from the story :P
btw, I think I saw a movie about journey to the west, I`ll try to find a copy in spanish or english
still haven`t figured how to turn into a huge monkey that has a blast breath weapon U_U

Well, after reading the Dragon Empires Gazeteer and Bestiary 3, I'd say that the original Goku (aka Sun Wukong) would be better described as a Varana CG Monk 20 (Martial Artist/Qiggong)/Sorcerer 20 (Shaitan bloodline).^^
by the way, he would be honored to have been stated as a god... though that description's a bit different from my idea of him.^^

ok so playing around with my own "lets build a goku" for my fiances 14 year old son to play with me and my friends. i came up with monk of the four winds/ quiggong/ and ki mystic. these all blend together very well and give you a ki pool equal to =(lvl+(wis*2)+2) this is INSANE amount of ki. we did a point buy fo rhim with average gear and at level 13 hes rocking a nice little 8 wis mod so theres 13+8*2+2 so 31 ki points. no we took a vow of truth since hes playing kir rin anyways the lawful good aspect of goku being brutally honest said he free ki points for role play nice. finishing his ki pool at 33. i took a few replacements mainly getting rid of wholeness of body for restoration and tongue of the son and moon for blood crow fist. taking abundant step with quiggong to get it back from slow time sacrifice was amazing. unfortunately he doesnt get dimensional dervish until late in game but that is something he gets to work up too. straight 20 levels of monk.
no im sure this is being used by others ki mystic makes you get rid of some nice stuff but a ki pool of that size is crazy. the one thing that i took to give him the fast and furious feel until he can teleport combat was the full panther style chain. with the last piece of the chain he charges and provokes aos but then uses greater trip instead of an attack to trip everyone he runs by that tries to hit them followed up by a disarm. this resolves before they can take the swing. if these attacks work his enemy is at a -6 to attack with a weapon 15 feet away from him lol.
a few things i would suggest i know it starts to hurt the flavor of GOKU being incredibly strong but for a compaign where your stats come from point buy and you feel spread then might i suggest an AMULET OF MIGHTY FISTS. and have the magic property guided added to it. this is a monk necessity. use wisdom in place of strength for att and damage.
he is a saiyan until level 17 when he achieves super saiyan and with the acquisition of a ring of enlarge person he is now a BROLY SIZED SUPER SAIYAN!!!
the main things the goku build focuses on is gaining increased speed damage versatility. now originally you are just fast then at 17 you can charge in 3d with fly then slowfall to the ground blood crow fist at 2 ki points is so nice giving you a medium range to do at level 13 2d6*5 attacks and add your strength to each of them (or wisdom if geared for it) so his toon hits 5 times for 2d6+8. at 100+ feet away.
sorry this is so long i love goku i love dbz been a d20 player for years and creating my favorite heroes is a hobby. i have also done aaragorn, jarlaxle, and a few others.
might i suggest avoid homebrewing when designing flavor characters using a bit of refluffing without changing game effect is usually all you need.

I tried this a while ago as I was watching DBZ Kai. I ended up with a level 20 monk, no archetypes. I gave him really high ability scores though. I left his Int at 14, but all the others were like 60 or something.
To do it accurately, you really need a custom archetype or something. I started working on one that was a level 10 Sorc/10 Monk with the really high ability scores but it was too much work for a character I would never really use.

things to accomplish for an accurate goku
flight-monk of the four winds kir-rin at level 17
energy attacks-quiggong monk trading for blood crow strike replicates a fast many shot energy attack, or dragons breath or ice cold strike for a cone hit big damage type.
teleportation-monks get abundant step if you lose it to an archetype regain it using quiggong monk.
very fast attacks-ummm flurry of blows i think this qualifies and 1 ki point to get an extra attack.
super speed running-fast movement... again thats core.
super saiyan hair- its silver but itll do again level 17 aspect master from monk of the four winds ki-rin.
martial arts type maneuvers- take teh greater trip and improved disarm feats, and the full panther style tree.
transforming into a huge monkey- he cant do that until he regrows his tail after ssj4 since his tail was removed in Dragon ball. so non issue.
destroying a planet- again goku does not destroy planets bad guys do. and it was roshi who destroyed the moon not goku. and though he has the ability goku NEVER WOULD.
if you want to achieve ssj form-ring of enlarge person.
if you are on a point buy system- amulet of mighty fists guided 5k. use wisdom instead of strength for dmg and att.
if you want to teleport attack and teleport attack a ton of people in one round use dimensional dervish and abundant step now you can do that.
in closing:
goku is a level 20 monk off a 20-25 point buy system wearing average gear. his archetype combination is:monk of the four winds, quiggong monk, and ki mystic (just to increase ki pool and to help others)
goku is lawful good though his law is his personal code not mans law.
his favorite stat is wisdom followed by dexterity then constitution, his one dream item is a amulet of might fists that is guided speed and holy. goku also enjoys short runs around the world chasing magical orbs and fighting people that keep killing him. did i mention goku has an int of 13
