This is an inconsistency with the Pathfinder system or so it seems to me. There should be a CRAFT FIREARMS AND GUNPOWDER skill and then a Feat to CRAFT MAGIC FIREARMS. There could be another Feat, GUNSMITHING or EXPERT GUNSMITH, that improves the character's ability to craft these weapons and munitions.

Not at all inconsistent, it merely treats crafting firearms (an admittedly more complicated piece of work than any other individual crafting skill covers) the same as crafting magic items
The inconsistency is that it is so much faster to make a gun rather than a sword heh
Late reply, but seeing that the thread has been raised from the dead:
It is an inconsistency, but a little less inconsistent than it seems. The price for firearms and ammunition is inflated as they are a novelty. If you play in a world where they are common the price is 10% of the listed price.
It is like having a steel weapon in a world where the more advanced weapon in bronze. An "almost magic" item.
Still too good when compared to the normal crafting rules, even if it requires a feat. The feats that increase mundane crafting are way less efficient.
