Gnome Guntank Grenadier.
Doesn’t move fast but has Plate Armour, Tower Shield, Bombs, Grit, Guns, Mutagens and Infusions.
Mine is an experimental Gunsmith as well.
1 level in guns, then all into bombs.
Just keep taking loads of discoveries as they are so much better than feats.
Tanglefoot as a bomb discovery was amazing,
Takes away 4 Dex of AC.
Carry a Pilum or two to take out shields.
Stock up on Alchemical weapons and use them at the right time on the right enemies and never be without an infusion of True Strike.

When everyone else is flailing around you’ll pop up and damage an enemy so badly that they can all pile in.
And then there’s the crowd control and buffs you can dish out to the party :)

I don’t bother with the plate and tower shield. We’re playing in Icewind Dale so I made myself a Masterwork Ice Coat and wear it with an Armoured Skirt. Bang a shield infusion and my Dex Mutagen and I’m the hardest to hit in the party. Watch out for the Dex Mutagen though. Use your grit points up before you take it.

Craft Magic Weapons and Armour feat would let you make magic firearms if you have Gunsmithing.

Crafting bullets, black powder, or cartridges takes 1 day of work for every 1,000 gp of ammunition (minimum 1 day.

So it can be a mix of any of them... including cartridges if allowed in campaign and you have Craft Alchemy 1.

I’m currently playing a Drow Rogue 1, unchained summoner 2, who is about to go for a level in Cleric Vhaerun.
Trickery and Night.
The Eidelon is a skill buff rather than combat , I’ll take one final level in Summoner and then go full Rogue as he’s supposed to be the party’s Swiss Army knife.
Next feat will be the second Drow Nobility feat so that he has deeper darkness. Eidelon is Shadow with stealth and perception +8 and share evolution.

Super sneaky caster that can scare the life out of enemies. Instant flank when someone misses and acces to shield and shield of faith for +6 AC. Blindfight, shadows , fog, turn invisible , hide and channel death to living creatures while Uncle my Eidelon uses ventriloquism to terrify my enemies ....
‘The bane of Llolth approaches. Bow down slaves and some of you will live ‘
Add in the levitation, feather fall, and dancing lights ( glowing humanoid distraction ) faerie fire ....
Drow Poison.....
If I took another evolution on Uncle I could borrow his scales for +2 natural AC.......
Daredevil boots....

My GM let me take an avian form so that my Eidelon was a tiny wyrmling servitor of Vhaerun who is a full sized dragon on the shadow plain.

Yes I’m underpowered . Yes it’s not the best for synergies but he’s a really fun character

That’s what it’s about no?

So our group is larger , 6-7 players. This makes it an option for me to play a character with flavour and I’ve gone for a toolbox character.
Dark Elf follower of Vhaeraun, Rogue 1, Drow Nobility.
He multiclassed to summoner while calling on Vhaeraun for a servitor to heal our injured Minotaur fighter. He’s an idiot but he deals big damage.
GM allowed me to use the Avian shape with shadow Eidelon so that I could have a tiny Shadow Dragon.
His one point went into +8 perception.
Spells were gravity bow and demonic blessing which we described as Draconic Blessing.
His Eidelon is a member of his family ( Draconic Anceatry ) who is fantastically powerful on the shadow plain but very limited by my characters lack of power and imagination .
Taking a level in Sorceror as flavour so I can grow claws, ( also two attacks with sneak attack bonus )
Then concentrating on summoner. My Eidelon will not be a combat wombat but will have lots of skills at +8 to reflect the Shadow dragons intelligence. Need to buy extra limbs as well as he just has stumpy little arms at the moment. It’s more about the roleplaying than the optimisation for me but it’s a great little character.
