Ok folks, here is what I am going to do. You see, I started running a PBP about a week ago and its going quite well I think. Better then well in fact (but I got awesome players!) Its going well enough that it has boosted my confidence a bit and I want to run an actual AP.
Now, this is NOT a post about recruiting for an AP...yet. Rather, this is a broad interest check on WHICH AP people are most interested in playing via PBP.
So here is how this is gonna work.
Here are the AP's I am willing to run. You guys can vote once on whichever one you would love to either see in a PBP format or play in. These are the ONLY AP's I am willing to run, so if the one you wanna see ain't on this list please dont vote for it, your vote wont count.
The AP's are:
Council of Thieves
Kingmaker
Serpent's Skull
Jade Regent
If you have no idea what the APs are roughly about, go here - The Store Adventure Path Page and read about em.
I know one of you is bound to say "But Jade Regent isn't available yet!" And you are correct! You see, I am going to let this vote go on and on until I am actually ready to run the AP! As to when that will be? Who knows! I am not gonna tell! :D
You may notice that Rise and Carrion Crown are missing. The reason? Rise and Carrion Crown are the 2 APs I am actually playing in myself and I don't want to spoil em for myself. The others are not there cause they are 3.5 and I dont want to convert em to PF :P
So get to voting, and I will periodically post results/tallys as we go! The AP that wins will be the one I run! :D
DM Stompinator
Take a PF one rather than an AP designed for 3.5.
Kingmaker via PbP will be far more work than the others, thats worth pointing out. Also ask yourself if you prefer sandbox or not.
I would vote Jade Regent- I expect many others will.
Which ones are 3.5 only? I know Rise of the Runelords is...but thats the only one I know for sure.
DM Stompinator
Second Darkness, CotCT, LoF. Anything preceding CoT basically. CoT was a little shaky as it was the first AP with PF rules but is essentially a PF AP.
Legacy of Fire is built on 3.5?
So the only ones that are Pathfinder specific are Council of Thieves, Kingmaker, Serpent's Skull, and Jade Regent? Well of the ones I intend to run anyway
Hrmmm! Might have to take off the 3.5 ones, not sure I could convert em.
Talomyr
Ok I took off the 3.5 ones. No offense folks but I dont want to have to covert things.
I figured Jade Regent would be one people would want haha.
Well, with the 3.5 APs gone, I will have to switch my vote to Jade Regent, as that is the only one still listed that I am not either running or playing in.
As an aside, I think you would be quite surprised with just how little conversion the 3.5 APs require, especially since Bestiary 2 came out.

Well I have not even seen the actual APs or anything so I am not sure what needs to be converted and how.

My first vote is always screw those APs and do a homebrew hehe! But sadly I understand people don't have the time to make them, So I vote for Jade Regent.
I understand this statement but the reason I run PbP is lack of free time- hence by the same logic I don't have the time to prepare and run my homebrew anymore- until I started my KM PbP homebrew campaign worlds and plots was all I knew.
Now uni is finishing though... expect some of my own stuff in my next recruitment thread ;)

I totally understand, and being new to pbp it seems a good way to go. At least for me since I don't regularly play these APs its all new to me hehe. Will be keeping my eye out for that AK!!!

I'll go with Serpent's Skull, since it seems one of the least played. Jade Regent obviously sounds like a lot of fun, since it's new, but I think Aubrey's suggestion to wait for all the parts might not be a bad one.
(Of course, I'm running Kingmaker right now and have only bought the first part so far, so maybe that advice should be taken with a grain of salt.)

I am going to vote on a scale if no one minds.
1st Kingmaker- I love building and running things. To war my army! ^.^
2nd Jade Regent- Pretty much taking over an empire, whats not to like.
3rd Serpents Skull- Pirates, Assassins, and a Lost City oh my.Thats how it currently stands for me.
Clearly you and I think alike :)

AK that will be awesome
** spoiler omitted **
Nothing yet. Got some ideas kicking about but nothing concrete- not had the time to think about it for a while. I also think for simplicity i'll have to restrict myself to Golarion rather than my homebrew world, as its hard to educate players on it over PbP (and my map of it is a paper version :S).
You made a decision on which AP then Stomp?

I'd vote for Serpent's Skull if you're looking to start in the near-ish future. If you're up for waiting, Jade Regent. Kingmaker comes in after those two, Council of Thieves after that.
Even though Second Darkness is written for 3.5, a kindly person has done all the NPC conversion already. That's what I'm using for my Second Darkness, for the most part. I'm editing a couple based on choices the translator made that I disagree with, but the ground-work is already done.

Not yet AK, and oh I am with the rest of the folks here, I cannot wait to see what kind of Homebrew you cook up (And I WILL apply)
Its looking like, based on Votes, between Jade Regent (not surprised!) and Kingmaker.
JaceDK
Council of Thieves. I'm pretty sure there will be a good deal of people offering to run Jade Regent when it comes out, since this has been the trend with the other AP's. I'm in AK's Kingmaker and have read the first installment of Serpent Skull (and lurked on a PbP).
Not that I expect to have time to play anyway, unless I finish or drop some of my current games. :-)
DM Stompinator
Woot more votes for Jade Regent :). While I don't think its an AP i'd want to run, i'd probably play in it.
I suspect lots of people will run Jade Regent when it comes out, but at the same time more people will want to play (always a glut of players and a lack of DMs)
Also: I would find it HILARIOUS if AK was in one of my games lol
markofbane
I'd vote for Serpent Skull, followed quite closely by Jade Regent. I have played in some of the early PbP's (I think you're lurking on a couple of them... :]), and you may find online some of the ground work for converting early APs has already been done. Some of the GM's running RotRL or LoF might be able to share or point you to resources if one of the earlier AP storylines really captures your imagination.
jhpace1
I would love to play Serpent's Skull, but twice now I've been deferred because I want to play a psion from Dreamscarred Press' Psionics Unleashed. I could play a Sorcerer or Wizard very easily, but I'm trying to see what the new Pathfinderized psions are like.
Your roll-up method is also quite the factor: 4D6-drop-the-low, 25-point buy, 15-point buy, 18/8 with point buy, etc. If you choose a more difficult method with fewer points, then 1/2 BAB and multi-stat classes become harder to play in the Adventure Paths.
DM Stompinator
@jhpace1 - I have 2 preferred stat methods: 8+2d6 (giving a score between 10 and 20), or 20 point buy. Depends on my mood.
Current Vote Stats:
Council of Thieves - 2 votes
Kingmaker - 4 votes
Serpent's Skull - 5 votes
Jade Regent - 8 votes
So Jade Regent is leading the pack!
And right now I am wishing that I had a way to bug you outside of these boards AK so I could pick your brain about Kingmaker / Serpents Skull!
*mauls boards for lack of PM system*

jade regent. i would like to play a young female Tian ninja.
either as
an escort sent by Emperor Shigure to escort the messenger all the way to sandpoint.
or the deliverer of a written letter to Ameiko.
young doesn't neccessarily mean child, nor the template itself. i was thinking 16-19ish.
