He is stunned for one round, meaning at the beginning of your turn he is no longer stunned. Otherwise, it would be one and a half rounds (or some other fraction).

Correct, meaning you cannot do it alone for multiple reasons.
EDIT: Coup de Grace allows a save, no guaranteed instant kill.

It will soon enough, just like other Abilities that should have a have are going to have one (targetting and such I'm sure)
