This is a very serious topic and emotions are running high. I am hereby encouraging for the prevalence of cooler heads and taking things to PMs or texts/phone calls if you feel like posting something publicly that might lead to misunderstandings and fights. I am not on Facebook or Instagram, I check Twitter for keeping in contact with exactly two people in my personal life, and I am on pinterest solely for giant robots and Y Wings and reddit mainly for boobs. I can honestly say that this is the only place I socialize at online and this news has shaken the community, but we should not allow it to turn us against one another. Many of us are hurt and/or upset. Let's talk it out while we wait for something official that helps us make any big decisions.

All I know is, Diego and Sara Marie were the only ones at Paizo to socialize with us, for that alone, they will be missed.
I am not saying it is all gonna crash and burn, but I'd feel better if we had some sort of back up plan to hang around, just in case. In worst case, I can keep in touch with some of you on Facebook (CH, Woran, Lisa, TOZ), but it would be painful to loss contact with those of you who remain—justifiably—skeptical of FB and/or Discord.

I do not utilize Fakebook nor Titter, because I'd never get anything done at work, be fired in short order, and then be unable to access Internet.
Discord is an interesting place.
It's kind of like the great-grandchild of mIRC, in a way.
Despite that, I keep things *really* locked down there -- accidentally ending up on a fascist recruiting Discord and not catching the subtext for a good long while was jarring when I figured it out.

Speaking of old FAWTLies and the crap that is social media, one of the former posters here shared a post comparing mask mandate to rise of Nazis complete with a picture of a victim a freaking Auschwitz...
I just gave him a effing piece of my effing mind... Which might or might not end in my Facebook suspension. We'll see.
For the record, I have never been suspended or banned from Facebook.
I haven't taken an extracurricular in high school that involved a trip to Auschwitz camp and a weekly series of seminars in its museum covering Nazi rise to power to see such s@!%.

One of the reasons I left Facebook was disgust at former FAWTLies and their conspiracy theories. That, and Facebook is terrible in general. I owe Freehold an apology or something.

We went to look around a secondary school for Shanna yesterday, which featured a very dull speech by the headmaster/principal, about how the place no longer resembles the Capitol Wasteland in Fallout 3 and is instead a Temple of Learning with a School Mantra where everyone wears nice blazers and, if they set anything on fire, they do so under controlled circumstances and for the greater glory of Science.
I was late for fencing as a result, and getting home was a proper faff, as everything was late or cancelled. Probably I shouldn't have gone, but choices were made, and me being me, they were the wrong ones.

On the one hand, I agree with the sentiment, "California has no seasons". In mid-July our highs will be in the 60s or 70s, and our lows will be in the 50s. In mid-February our highs will be in the 50s, and our lows will be in the 30s or 40s. Not exactly a vast temperature range.
On the other hand, it's amazing how quickly it becomes "Fall" around here. On our Monday walk, both GothBard and I smelled the difference in the air and declared, "It's Fall." It's impossible to explain to non-locals. You go outside, you smell the air, you notice the quality of the sunlight, and you know it's Fall.
Similarly, on Monday I was putting the Fluffernutter out at 6:30 am and it was relatively light. This morning I put her out at 6:30 am in the pitch darkness. The transition is sudden and striking.

I had my first pumpkin spice donut this week. Normally that occurs Labor Day weekend. However, the pool is still open and it was 72 at 430 AM for my run. So, I put this in the late summer stages for NC.
As for other issues. I gave myself a FB-free september for other reasons and do not really miss it. Twitter, IMO, is better for boobs than reddit, but each to their own.
