Sounds like my brothers and sister. Any pairing of the three is fraught with existential dangers. I'm the only one they can each get along with.
So, I know that it's a kid's show meant for kids... but something is seriously strange about Captain Hook's characterizations in that show... even compared to other representations of the same. To the point that the characters in the show comment on the fact that he's not like they expect him to be.

So, why does NobodysHome hate Microsoft, Windows, and all it stands for?
I spent almost two hours this morning getting everything installed, updated, etc., etc., on Impus Minor's new machine.
Everything was great... except Windows 7 just could not handle the 5 TB internal hard drive. It wanted to break it into a bunch of little partitions, and nothing I did could convince it to use ONE partition.
I looked up the problem, and it said, "Just boot from the original Windows 7 disk and use that partitioning tool."
So I did, the partitioning tool worked beautifully, I clicked "Next" to apply the changes...
...and it immediately started writing Windows 7 to disk, OVER THE COPY I'D ALREADY INSTALLED!!!!
Cancelling didn't help. The damage was done, the OS was corrupted, and I had to start from square 1.
You know, Microsoft, a simple, "I am going to start writing to your disk now, is that OK?" would be AWESOME. Thanks.

Random thought that came to me during playing devilian... High heels annoy so much more than revealing clothes. They look completely ridiculous...
Yeah, I am not a high heel fan. I don't really understand what people see in them - both men and women.
Also, naked breasts so often would look much better than the overexaggerated cleavage windows, though I understand that because of stupid reasons it's not possible...
Regular cleavage looks so much better than majority of cleavage windows :/

It's a 256 GB SSD for OS stuff, then a 5 TB drive for installed stuff. Partitions always annoy me. Due to the Windows Registry, putting installed programs on the C: drive doesn't do you any good anyway. So all installed programs and data on D:. All system stuff and caches on C:. End of installation.
And we have our first benchmark:
Far Cry 4 on Impus Minor's old laptop set in "High Performance" mode: 20 frames per second (fps)
Far Cry 4 on the new machine in economy mode (not even drawing 400W yet): 160 fps.
I think it's a teensy bit faster...

But yeah, Impus Major's computer is a classic example of why I hate the whole partitioning philosophy: He has a 500 GB C: drive and a 500 GB D: drive. Every single program that could put stuff on either drive defaulted to C:, so his C: drive ended up absolutely full, with an empty D: drive. And because all those files had been registered as on the C: drive, he couldn't move them without a full uninstall/reinstall of every program.
So he basically lost half his available hard drive space because he didn't take the time to monitor where his programs were installing, putting their settings, saved games, stored data, configurations, updates, backups, etc.
At 5 TB, Impus Minor will NEVER fill up that drive, and can just blindly hit "Install, Install, Install" without having to be a conscientious user.
(My favorite has to be my company: An 80 GB system partition, then 920 GB data partition. But their auto-backups and auto-updates always use the C: drive, so within a year every user had to file a ticket because their C: drive was full and they couldn't change the automation to write to the D: drive.)

I have been more or less consistently using three partitions (System, Disk 1, Disk 2) and spreading my things between disk 1 and disk 2 for the last 20 years or so, since me and my brother got a HD for our second Amiga.
*sigh*
I must admit that Windows registry annoys me sometimes. Why the hell programmers insisting on messing with registry (except for things that really need them) instead of keeping the program's settings within a file within the program's directory... Though I also hate those who think that keeping save files in User Data or whatever is brilliant... No, it isn't brilliant. It's terribly dumb when I have to look for my saves to back them up before reinstalling system*.
*If you don't make clean re-install with formatting the system partition anew, it's not really reinstalling a system.

When that issue came up in real life, they didn't make the armor more revealing. They just used an different type of armor!
but that other type of armor could be not as effective as the cleavage window armor.
Do you not wish for the armored troops under your command to be cool and comfortable in the raging furnace of war?

what in the world is G. O. K?
I think I finally figured out a good way to describe Tatsuya, the sort-of protagonist from The Irregular at Magic High School - a high-functioning near-sociopathic super genius with middling magical talent and an overbearing sense of duty who's one remaining tie to humanity is his sister, due in part to intense trauma in his younger childhood exacerbated by government and "clan" manipulation and augmentation.
I've heard him described as a "Gary Stu" type character, and to some extent that's certainly true, but I find him more multifaceted than that - he has a serious flaw that it takes truly extraordinary people to see beyond, and he has several traits that hamper him in social achievements... but he overcomes them by way of intellect and talent.
In that way, I find him very similar to Sherlock Holmes from the Sherlock series - in fact, outside of his more typically stoic demeanor, and ability to use magic, Tatsuya reminds me very much of what I would expect a young Holmes from that series would be if he was in such a society as that one. He isn't exactly the investigator Holmes is, but many of his intellectual and social traits remind of Holmes, but with more stoicism. They are very similar in their approaches to problems, and Tatsuya even has (several) "Watson"-type people that he gathers around him due to his intellect and charisma, even as he irritates other powerful people he doesn't particularly care for. He even has a combination of his sister, magic research, and military service as points of obsession to replicate Holmes' normal addictions.
His competence nets him friends despite his social weakness, but I find most of them well-earned. I don't find him worse than Holmes or Tony Stark () a few other similar genius characters.
Also, just for fun, in translating him to PF, I'd classify pretty much everyone in that system as something akin to arcanists (or, perhaps, magi) with their "CAD" being a kind of familiar/bonded item into which they prepare their spells; Tatsuya, however, is a a relatively low-CL arcane crafter (perhaps who segued into eldritch knight or something similar after a dip into [url=http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/ranger/archetypes/paizo---ranger-archetypes/urban-ranger]urban ranger] and brawler (to imitate the ninja stuff) for his prestige. It would explain his lower (relative) CL, high combat skills (even relative to others), his facility with magical craftsmanship, and so on.
As to how he figures out stuff that others haven't (aiming towards him being a Gary Stu), I find that sufficiently well-explained in-universe as well... it's akin to wondering about why all wizards don't have libraries full of all the magic spells, except in this case, it seems that there has only been magic for a century - not much time. Also, there are many variants in technique for similar spells - they have not yet been standardized in the way that they are in a PF-like system, even when there are similar spells in circulation.
All that said, I can understand how he seems to be a Gary Stu. I find some of his positive attention a little humorous myself... but I also find it extremely similar to other anime, whether centering on a girl or guy... not to mention several characters in western spheres that are more popular.
All in all, an interesting show, and one I'm rambling on about, even though it's definitively not the best one there is.
Black Butler, Gurren Lagann, and Kill la Kill for comparison, are far better anime, on most levels. But I definitely find this one viable and interesting... and I'd certainly find it worthy of taking and building a campaign setting around.
That said, while I'm super not into the brother/sister thing, I'm intrigued by the idea behind it that I can definitely understand how that works and the concept behind it - and considering they lampshade the thing in the show itself, I suspect that's what they're trying to point out - how odd it is, and how extreme justification for it would need to be.
I also find its following a storyline for 8-11 episodes at a time interesting, and a solid technique for making a compelling anime-style "epic" - I don't think it's done as well as it could be, but I do think it's done "well enough" for what it's trying to accomplish.
Anyway, /ramble for now, I suppose.
