very strange to me as a german, we did not have spuerhero comics when I was a kid superman was only movies for me, x-men only cartoon, spiderman, batman I think where comics books, but superheros where obscure and not popular at all

we did read Asterix, Lucky Luke, Clever&Smart, WaltDisney's funny Pocketbook

Avengers, Iron Man, Blade, Watchman, Sin City and all the other superhero movies of the last 15 years are purly movies for me, I hadnever heard of these characters before the films came out

acceptable comics for adults are Asterix and maybe WaltDisney

I know of Asterix, but is it a subject of some controversy there? I know an italian friend of mine truly dislikes the way Rome is portrayed.
hi hi, well the romans are the antagonists in the comics, they are usually portraied as incompeted, decadend and not very bright, but not downright evil

Yep, Asterix is brilliant. There's also the slight question of politics and some other controversy regarding the artist & authors. It's quite clever the way the names are different in the French & English versions, whilst still retaining word-play.

There's an English version of Asterix? I've only read it in French. They had us use it in class to learn the language better.

Lawn mowed for the first time of the season. Damn plows ripped the hell out if my edges.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

we made my favorite meal, our hessian national dish: Grüne Soße

1 cup yoghurt
1 cup of curd cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
milk to make it more fluidy
tablespoon of mustard
tbsp lemon juice or vinegar
salt, pepper
stir into a creamy sauce

add 6 hard boiled eggs cut into small chunks

add chopped herbs, traditional are the following 7:
chives, sorrel, parsley, garden cress, chervil, borrage, salad burnet

because some of these don't grow yet, we used:
chives. parsley, sorrel, salad burnet and ramson (also called bear leek or bear's garlic)

serve with potatos and drink Apfelwein and afterwards a clear Schnaps like Basaltfeuer

Just bought eggs but I don't have curd cheese, cream, milk nor yoghurt... Not mentioning herbs which I don;t have even more.

I know mine would.
Well, there are a lot of Joss Whedon fans down there.....

so My browncoat collection would increase? Hmm.

Why I am so tired? It's not like I returned from the other side of city on foot.

I might do an inconceivable thing and go to sleep before midnight! *gasp*

Nighty everyone/

Huzzah! Kingmaker today, and I almost killed my PCs twice!

Scarab Sages

I'll get them next time! Next time.....

Scarab Sages

On the other hand, much beer was consumed. Most of it not by me, since I had to drive home. Still, as long as someone gets to enjoy it....

Scarab Sages

Not too long until game of thrones.....

Hey, look what we found in our front yard tonight!

We found over 5' of body skin (no head or tail) and it's 6" in diameter. Yes, we called animal control.

Thank you, Gmail, for trying to auto-correct my name to "Leoncavallo."

Shiny, save for Houston. I swam 30 min earlier today and am still recovering lol. God I miss swimming, hopefully I see results in a month.

Well, next time you're playing a swashbuckler type of character you know what to call him.

Former DM wants to continue Council of Thieves at some part.

Not sure if want to go back to that game, considering why it ended in the first place...

Went to sleep just after midnight. Slept to 10:00 when alarm clock started. Turned off the clock and dropped back on bed trying to determine how rested I am and woke up at 11:50...

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! 'Tis a rather dreary Monday - cloudy, cool, and a bit o'rain. Perfect for returning to work after a relaxing and exciting weekend.

Scarab Sages

I'm already looking forward to Wednesday night and our PF FR game. I've really gotten to like my elf wizard, especially since my buddy has been pushing me to change up characters.

Scarab Sages

But I've never done a conjuration specialist before, so it's a challenge finding awesome ways to fit him into combat. It worked well last time.

Scarab Sages

I just can't wait to use the Mad Monkeys spell. It looks like lots of fun and very useful.

Scarab Sages

I discovered another cool spell called Pellet Blast. It conjures a bunch of pellets that hit the target with piercing damage. The pellets can be adjusted to do cold iron, silver, or adamantine damage. Does up to 5d8. And no spell resistance.

Scarab Sages

I've really gotta brew some beer soon.

Almost at work. By for now.

one of the first characters I ever played was a conjurer.I still wish I could find that sheet.

Scarab Sages

I think they've made specialist wizards a little more interesting to play with these rules. I certainly have had fun with this one. I made him a teleportation sub-specialist. He's just to the point where his Shift ability can start being really useful in combat situations.

Mrrrgh. Disproportionally fed up with people who can't figure out things that's written out in plain language right at the top of information pages. Do we need to start putting it in bolded all caps imperative like warning signs?

But at least it seems the winter finally blew away over the weekend.

Apart from that first bout of f+~#ing snow while I was doing my Saturday paper round!

I was not amused. When I started it was warm enough that I'd left my gloves. By the time I got home I had to frickin' pry the fingers on my right hand loose from the wagon-handle with the left hand.

Derp heresy session incoming.

Looking at the judicial history of this country at least, yes. Some people will still complain it's not obvious enough until it's either in head-sized font or neon.

Taig, "A melesmaniac continues to benefit from fast healing even when it drops below 0 hit points." is a redundant sentence, fast healing already "continues to function (even at negative hit points) until a creature dies".
