1078: But If You Try Sometimes
And that was kind of awesome.

Eh from a I've played a fighter with a legacy weapon before standpoint. I couldn't care to much about fireballs as long as it kept making me better at the hack n slash. I'd rather have another +1 then a 3per day fireball at least at his level. (which I feel there all pretty high level at this point.)
Also I love the throw it away and see if it teleports back again. I had a character do the exact same thing.

Ok, I laughed.
Gosh, given how many times someone has to grab someone who's about to fall overboard or something in this strip, a sword that you can't lose by dropping it sounds pretty awesome. Roy's pretty much the go-to guy for leaping to save someone, personality-wise, so not having to cling to his beatstick suits him.

Doubly so since AFAIK he still does not carry a ranged weapon ;-P

Y'know, for all his pretensions of being intelligent, Roy keeps making that most basic of mistakes...

He doesn't have as much hammerspace as the rest. Haley keeps several Bags of Holding and an arbitrarily large number of arrows. Roy keeps what, a few potions?

He could at least carry a sling.
Or if nothing else, a dagger. Anything to at least serve as a backup weapon.
I remember a game may years ago. The bad guy was getting away, so my front liner barbarian busted out his longbow and shot at him. Another player was astonished that he carried a bow. He also carried a morning star and a dagger. Just seemed like common sense to me.
I can see everybody with just one weapon here, though, for story purposes.

Unless you are plane, or a bomb, or some ice, or a brain-washed-buddy-with-a-robotic-arm. Then you don't necessarily have to yield!

1080: Clever Blasting God Stoppers
First time I can remember a Saturday update in quite awhile. I think the title is a reference to the film adaption of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Actually, Everlasting Gobstoppers were in the original 1964 book.

That doesn't actually make 137ben wrong. ;)
Where did Mr. Burlew get the reference from?

Intermediate, actually!
(Just in case you're curious, it goes quasi-deity at rank 0, demigod at rank 1, lesser god at rank 6, intermediate at rank 11, greater at rank 16, and over-god/ubergod/etc. at rank 21+ or higher. More here. Rich could be using different rules, though!)

Who could say no to that for a consort? XD

Hel, apparently.
