How many of you are actually playing this game?

I see many posts from people that are actually playing 3.5/PF and many posts from those who are not. I also see many posts from those who obviously played D&D (1E/2E/3E) in the past but no longer play.

So my question is: Are you actively playing 3.5/PF on a regular basis?

For purposes of this survey actively playing means you meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Sessions at least once a month
- Sessions in person (no play-by-post or online only)
- Sessions with a group of at least 2 players and a DM (no solo or one-on-one groups)

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Maps, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

I GM a bi-weekly game of Rise of the Runelords and play in a weekly game of Curse of the Crimson Throne. Both are converted to Pathfinder rules.

Silver Crusade

Playing in a friend's PF game on a Tuesday, I run my own on a Wednesday and I have a regular weekend game of LoF (we are halfway through book 4).

Playing in a twice per month 3.5 game.

I'm about to join a once-a-month PFRPG game, although I missed the first session. I play lots online, though.

Playing 1/month in a Pathfinder game. Schedule has slipped from time to time due to adult responsibilities. Evidence found in campaign journal section.

Shadow Lodge

I play the following:

- 1x/month: Play in ongoing 3.5 campaign with 7 players.
- 1x/month: GM Pathfinder Society for a group of 5-6 players.
- 2x/month: Either play or GM (depending on the week) in a Pathfinder Society group of 6 players.
- 2x/month: Play in a homebrew Pathfinder game.

Lantern Lodge

I DM a weekly Pathfinder game (currently running through RofRL) and play in a homebrew twice a month which uses the Pathfinder rules set.

I also play opportunistically in Pathfinder Society events when they occur locally.

I am playing in a bi-weekly game of Rise of the Runelords and a monthly game of Legacy of Fire. I GM a Kingmaker group on a bi-weekly basis and GM a Council of Thieves game at least once a month (most times more).

We are using Pathfinder rules in all four. There are 18 unique individuals in all the games we play. Two are in all four (my wife and I), one in three of the games, and one in two of the games.

Rise of the Runelords has 6 players and the GM.
Legacy of Fire has 6 players and the GM
Kingmaker has 7 players and the GM
Council of Thieves has 4 players and the GM.

Play: Bi-weekly 3.5, bi-weekly PF, 4/year DSA.

DM monthly or bi-monthly (irregular) 4E.

All real, I don't play online. All groups consist of 4-8 players, with usually about half present.

I DM a Second Darkness game on as much of a monthly basis as we can manage, though it's more often about every six weeks.

Liberty's Edge

Was a regular DM until about 2 months ago, now am just a player. We play weekly.

Dark Archive

1X week DM Serpent's Skull
1X week play in Kingmaker
1X week Pathfinder Society

Nothing online, all in person. I get around. Average group size is 6.

"I'm not a player, I just crush alot."

On a monthly schedule, there are 3-4 weekly games of Kingmaker (one game each week); end of the month on Sunday a PFS game with 4-6 players. Weekly Kingmaker has 7 players and one GM.

Just my 2 cp.

Ignoring everything I do online, I play Kingmaker once a week, and I have a second weekly slot in which we alternate the game played and use various systems, sometimes that's a Pathfinder Council of Thieves game.

I have a regular bi-weekly game that is currently PFRPG (Kingmaker)
and a temporary as often as we can game of Serpents Skull.

I actively run 3.5 / PFRPG on a regular basis.

I DM a 3.5 game (using many house rules adopted from PFRPG) every other week with 7 players.

I also run a Pathfinder session once a month.

The 3.5 game has been our ongoing campaign since well before Pathfinder was even a thing.

Scarab Sages

Once a month 6-7 hours.
4-10 players.

I play in a D&D 3.5 game every week.
Except for hoilday weekends when the mandatory time with family/wife/kids etc gets in the way of gameing.

We switch between eberron and forgotten realms. My DM has no intrest in pathfinder but I am slowly buying him the adventures, we won't do a rules switch but the adventures are great.
we have between 4-7 players at any given time.

I play/run either Pathfinder or 3.5 at least twice a month. I've also been known to run a Mutants and Masterminds game.

So, what have you got against small groups or on-line play?

The Exchange Contributor, RPG Superstar 2008 Top 6

Running a weekly game and a bi-weekly game. Playing in a monthly game.

Scarab Sages

Shortly after the PF beta rules came out, my group of 4 (incl. me) started a weekly PF campaign set in Eberron, which converted forward to the full PF rules a few weeks after they came out. We started a second weekly campaign a few months before the full PF rules came out, and kept playing both for several months. We took a half-year break from PF for an Exalted series, but this next week we're starting a sequel to one of the games, also run weekly.

In addition, I run PF Society games bi-weekly with a completely different group.

I dooooo!
I GM CotCT with PF rules in a bi- to tri-weekly session with 4 players. Each session being about 5 to 6 hours long.

I used to play in a tri-weekly 3.5 session, but that hasn't happened oh oh oh for the longest time...

Shadow Lodge

Saturdays and Sundays. Though I have to find a new Saturday game now, life caught the DM.

I DM a VTT game on Tuesdays that meets about 3 times a month. So I suppose it on online only but I choose to count it still. We are approaching completion of Curse of the Crimson Throne and will be starting Kingmaker in another 4 weeks or so.

I also play in a Second Darkness VTT game that is near the end of the campaign.

I find a virtual table top game with Skype and friends to be very enjoyable and quite a bit similar to in person game. It does lose a bit, but it keeps a game moving with friends that move around for work and school.

I GM a weekly RotRL game that will soon be a CotCT game.
I GM a Monthly/every other month AoW game. (try to play every month but RL tends to intervene)
I play in a monthly Kingmaker game.

All using Pathfinder rules.

Shadow Lodge

I GM a RotRL game every Tuesday from 18:00-23:00. I've got a 6th Lvl PFS Character that, mostly, get's played at Cons.

Normally bi-weekly, last few campaign starts havent gone all that well due to RL scheduling issues. A shaky year of gaming at best.

About to take the show on the road with the same players only this time online via maptools/ventrilo, hopefully starting the end of this month with a new Serpent Skull campaign.

3.5 DM.
Run two different groups, each meets once per week.
1 group (currently has 5-7 players) is playing RotRL+ (I've added additional stuff, since they were blowing through the adventure faster than they were leveling).
other group (currently has 2-3 players) is doing more generic homebrew campaign.

Liberty's Edge

I GM a weekly CotCT game using the D&D v.3.5 rules, for five regular players. We've just started 'Crown of Fangs'.

Once this campaign finishes, I intend to run any future D&D-like games under the Pathfinder RPG rules.

The Exchange

GMing a (mostly) Pathfinder game for six players. And starting a second (entirely and exclusively) Pathfinder game for up to eight players. Both custom campaigns (no modules or the like).

Shadow Lodge

Currently DM'ing Legacy of Fire using Pathfinder RPG weekly. Until a month or so ago was also playing in another weekly game.

(Also running a 4e game monthly... gets interesting switching back and forth sometimes...)

Well although I take breaks sometimes, I usually play 3.5/pathfinder 3 days a week. I know, I should go out more...

So, for your purposes, I'm not actively playing Pathfinder on a regular basis, despite playing in three Pbp games here on the boards, including two for almost three years?

Lame.

The Exchange

I recently GMed the first 2/3s of the Council of Thieves AP in a weekly game.

I now play in a Kingmaker game once weekly, and am looking to GM the Slumbering Tsar Saga in the near future.

Word, my good DM.

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Maps, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Maps, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

I GM a weekly Pathfinder group with 5 players. We've been playing together for over 25 years.

cibet44 wrote:

I play Pathfinder once or twice a month, with the same group.

The amount of players change from session to session, from 4 to 7, usually we're 5, plus the DM.

I also play in a D&D 4th Ed but I prefer PF.

Grand Lodge

I GM Pathfinder and 2 games going are going every other weekend. The first is a group of 8 that have been playing for years. We are currently on C of T with MANY side adventures. The second is just me and my 10 year old son playing Keep on the Borderlands updated to PF. (side note: My son's first character ever was a paladin. Made me want to cry.. SO PROUD!!!)

I DM a bi-weekly 3.5 Savage Tide game for 6 players (now at 13th level).

I play in a weekly 4e game with 4 other players and a DM (23rd level).

Next Friday, I'll begin DMing another weekly 4e game for 6 players.

I occaisionally play in a 4e LFR game.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

I GM Pathfinder once a week, and am considering starting a second game during the week, running part 1 of Serpent's Skull at the local game shop.

+1.

Grand Lodge

I DM a 3.5 Rise of the Rune Lords game that meets on line via live web cam several times per month, and even though we use a web cam, we still roll physical dice...

We trust each other, but if there ever is an issue...

What's that? You just rolled a second natural 20?

*adjusts the camera to show the dice rolled*

Dark Archive

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

I am playing but we are on break due to RL right now. But normally we play 2-3 times a month. We should start back up first week of October.

Silver Crusade

Running a regular game(Curse of the Crimson Throne + fill-in side adventures with one PC's followers)
Running an irregular game for fill-in weekends(homebrew set in Golarion)
Playing in a regular game(Kingmaker)
Playing in a game that's on hiatus for the moment(Legacy of Fire)
Will likely be playing in another game(ANDORAN @#$% YEAH and/or Boats In Space)

Having fun. Feels good.

2 games a week. LoF (4 players 1 DM) COT (5~6 players 1 DM, assistant DM)

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I GM 2 separate Pathfinder games.

1 is weekly (Mondays) and is high-level, based in the Mwangi Expanse (although they are currently traveling quite a bit).

The second game is twice a month (Sundays) and is Kingmaker (I'd say we are about 2/3 of the way through book 1).

I keep bouncing around the "idea" of trying a third PF game... like tackling RotRL (from start to finish) or CotCT (started it once... completed book 1 and started book 2... never finished).

Yes. Both in forms that meet the criteria you’ve set for your survey and in forms that do not.

I’m curious as to why you have chosen to exclude these specific forms of play from your survey?
