Because one physicist says doesn't exist!

ridiculous.

I'm not sure a physicist is even qualified to deal with the question of what it means to predicate existence to a subject.

Gravity! It's just what they want you to think.

I'm open minded:
1. does the logical entailment of his new theory agree with current observations,
2. and does it make new predictions about things we have never been able to explain;
3. while at the same time be experimentally verified and experimentally reproducible?

If so, give that man a prize.

If not, well... maybe I'll use that in a Call of Cthulhu one-shot.

None of that deals with what "existence" means. It assumes a definition of a basically contested concept.

The paper:

"Starting from first principles and general assumptions Newton's law
of gravitation is shown to arise naturally and unavoidably in a theory
in which space is emergent through a holographic scenario. Gravity is
explained as an entropic force caused by changes in the information associated with
the positions of material bodies. A relativistic generalization of the presented arguments
directly leads to the Einstein equations. When space is emergent even Newton's law
of inertia needs to be explained. The equivalence principle leads us to conclude that it
is actually this law of inertia whose origin is entropic. "

>Page 2< of the New York Times article is more interesting than Page 1.
