Go on boy! Dance nekkid for the old hag. Maybe she'll have a heart attack and I can get some peace.

You can stay up if you know how to make tables sort different ways, correctly...

It's not an anecdote either. It's scientifically proven.

Are you sure? I can find a link or two to explain everything to you. I had to have it explained to me. I missed it all. I always seem to miss the major levels of excitement around here.

Both, with the latter being the more prevalent at the time.

In front of a computer?

Sounds like a good guess.

Are you people up already, or still up like me? :(

Up after a long night getting dogpiled by lonely terriers. Going off to exercise in a few. Then facing a monumental day of errands and lawn mowings. Best thing is being busy will keep me from worrying about stupid trolls on the Internet and my impending insolvency.

Hmmm... exercise. That might help the ol' insomnia.

Enjoy your busy day. Hope it's not too hot for mowing. It has been here, but we did it anyway. Anything rearing its head on the job front?

Meh. I have a possibility of getting retrained through a veteran's work program. They are offering retraining in wind turbine technology, and supposedly they are going to build a huge windfarm off the shoreline here (if the lawyers for the NIMBY crowd don't squash it). Heck, it'd beat flipping burgers, which is where I'm at around now :(

If memory serves, they've been fighting that for years.

Good Morning, FAWLTed Ones!

Actually slept kinda well last night (getting up in the morning still sucks, but...).

So, anything new?

Yeah, they fight it to the last. But, hey, it's at least a technology that could see some use along the coast, even if they won't allow Cape Wind to go forward.

Yeah, I think wind farms like that can be a decent source of supplemental energy, similar to solar power.

Erection or maintenance of turbines? I'm sure erection falls under the iron workers union there; does maintenance fall into public utility unions? Would you have to start as an apprentice, or can you test in at a higher level?

Computer was an excellent guess. I had my first day of rotating on-call duty yesterday, so I got a phone call at 1:37. Luckily, I was still awake. And I actually managed to solve the problem--after about 2 hours of not getting my laptop to work, driving to the office, and then looking around in the code. :)

I got to sleep around 5. My sleep schedule is already f'ed up anyway, so it was no big deal.

I blame Moorluck & Urizen for corrupting that post in my mind.

Ok... Wow. That was some dream...

Spoiler:
I woke up from my alarm and fell right back to sleep. I was asleep for 45 minutes and felt like I lived two lifetimes.

It was kind of funny. I woke up and immediately said to myself -- "ok, now what did I just dream?" And I could barely remember anything. I remember pulling my child's tooth out. I remember there was a "bad guy". I remember that the whole dream had kind of a Hellboy feel to it. I remember that the locations were typically churches I've been to, but all the floorplans had merged (like they do in a dream).

How can something so vivid be so fleeting?

That was kind of how I felt when I woke up. I felt like my mind had been stimulated for days. And it took me a minute to realize that my dream wasn't reality. (And that my child still has all his teeth.)

I require picture blog. And the comforting presence of the badger. And coffee.

Well, Steve called Al and Scott, asking them to check a drawing, but not realizing he had the drawing with him. Across town, Linda, Melissa, Amy, and Bel decided that they would start a new Secretaries Guild, and use it's power to muscle out the competition. Meanwhile, Alex's quest to find batteries for.....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

...and E7 is locked in his house with his shiny copy of the Advanced Player's Guide, and is gently caressing its spine as he gazes upon the latest 2 issues of the AP.

But, hold. A tear gently streams down his cheek as he realizes that these are the last of his subscriptions and he will be forced to fight amongst the scavengers for the occasional hot new products. You've all been warned. Fight on!
