Malize's question is answered as the temple door opens and a quartet of duergar start to enter. "Get that in place fast! We don't want them sending the skeletons up after us."
They were not expecting anyone to be in the place and none of the group heard them approaching, so both groups stare at each other for a moment, before one of the dark dwarves says "Drow! Kill them."
The dwarves are all in chainmail and carry warhammers and crossbows, however, they are not ready for combat. D1 has no weapon in hand as he had opened the door, D2 has his crossbow in hand. 3 and 4 are carrying a large wooden cask between them, and, now, from the open door, you can hear the sounds of many feet in the tunnel at the bottom of the hill outside.
One of the dwarves, after yelling, starts to set down his end of the cask, but can't do anything other than that.

With weapon drawn, Kevaras advances towards the duergar.
Move action to I15. Use standard action to move another five to I20.
He raises his sword and shouts at the duergar, "More souls for the Lady of Letherna!"
Minor action to use Divine Challenge on duergar D2.

Assuming Santander's turn doesn't change things too much...
"They aren't the ones you should be worrying about!" Ovid ducks around Corpus and barrels into the druegar.
Using both parts of Open The Gates Of Battle. Move to G25(no OA from Corpus if he was going to take one) and attack D1(vs Reflex), with D3 taking 4 damage and sliding to H26 from my Flurry of Blows. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 253d10 + 5 ⇒ (3, 5, 4) + 5 = 17
CRIT! 35 damage to D1. I'm going to feel damn silly if he turns out to be a minion.
Santander
I too made the mistake of making attack rolls but then realizing Santander was too far away. I'm pretty sure my readied action will miss anyways, so no matter
Move to K13
Ready an action, if an enemy comes within 7 squares of Santander, Arcing Fire, 1d20+4=10 vs D1 Ref, 1d8+7=15 fire damage and any enemy providing the target cover against this attack takes fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier (+4).
Santander approaches unsure of the duegar's intentions, he raises his quarterstaff awaiting their next move.
Amelia
Keveras advances to block the duergar's entrance and Santander moves up to support. Then Ovid darts in and his spear takes one in the throat. Blood spurting the dark dwarf dies.
No, he was not a minion. First attack of the game is a one shot kill! Good job!
However, when Ovid's attack also pushes the other rear dwarf back, the barrel falls...

On a hit, the enemy takes 4 cold damage and until the end of my next turn. Effect: any enemey in the power's area takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls.
Malize strides forward with contempt and lazy conjures forth a cloud of stinging ice crystals that lingers on.
Amelia
The icy cloud seems to annoy the dwarves a little bit. "Drow foolishness." one says.
One of the Duergar, knocked back by Ovid pulls out his crossbow and fires at Malize.
D3, with penalty. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17. Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Amelia
Corpus's seeminly crazed attack hurts both dark dwarves, D2 the most. As he reels back under the assault, he ducks away from Corpus. He fires at Kevoras, but that is not all he does. Hair from his beard fire at Corpus like needles, even as he screams from the pain ignoring the paladin brings.
D2 is bloodied. He shifts to J24. Crossbow Attack vs Kevoras: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23. Hit for 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12. Minor action: Beard Quills vs Corpus. In addition, Corpus has ongoing 2 poison and -2 to attack rolls - save ends both.

The last dwarf falls.
Corpus, you did forget your -2 penalties on both rolls but they didn't matter. You also forget to make your save vs continuing poison - you do need to make those until one is made. You each get 65 xp, bringing you to a total of 65. You also gain 40 gold from the dwarves.
After the last duergar falls, and after the drow joking ends, you can hear movement. Lots and lots of movement. Ovid and Corpus initially, and the rest of you after a moment, can see what's causing it.
There's an army moving towards Gateway - duergar, undead, orcs, grimlock, and strange shadowy dogs are among. A few grell float over head, and there are other things you can't quite make out. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of troops.
Your little position on the top of the hill seems to be a very minor objective, which is fortunate for all of you. However, it is likely to be attacked soon, so you should get ready.
Welcome to the Siege of the Forgotten Temple. You will have to repel a number of attacks on your defensible position. How many? You'll see. Between each wave you'll get time for a short rest. In addition, you'll be able to do a freeform skill challenge to try and make your lives easier. Or longer. Or both.
The skill challenge is a not your typical one. Rather than have specific skills with a success/failure ratio, this will be more freeform. You can describe any possible action, choose a skill, and roll and I'll fill in how good, or bad, you did. Failed rolls don't hurt at all.
You could - as some for instances - use thievery to rig a trap, arcana/religion to create a temporary protective ward or ritual, search to search the temple, etc. The action you attempt will determine your map starting place for the next wave of the battle as well - if you, for instance, barricade a window with a pew, you start at the window you barricaded. Your only limits are your imaginations.
If you take no action, then you start wherever you want on the map.
Ask any questions you like, and when ready describe what you want to do, make your skill roll, as well as an init for wave two.
You also might want to keep character status updated. I've found it useful as a PbP player to do updates as things happen to a character so that I recall them all, and Leaders know who needs healing. It's not mandatory, but it is useful. My own format is:
HP: xx/xx
Surges: xx/xx
AP: x/x
Status: whatever. Again, not mandatory, but very helpful.

Kevoras calls upon the Raven Queen's power and she listens. A small raven flutters down, lands on his shoulder and vanishes and he feels his Queen aiding him.
Kevoras has +1 to all defenses for this wave.
Santander gets part of his barricade made, and Ovid shelters behind it, crouched down.
Santander starts with cover, and Ovid is hidden and will have CA on the opening round.
Malize seems to connect to whomever the temple was devoted to. Power flows through the drow and she channels it over the group.
All of you have +2 damage for the fight. On a crit, you also roll one extra d6 damage, but you take that bonus amount as well as the magic backlashes through you. Malize also gains a +1 to hit with any arcane power for this wave.
Vernal and Corpus invesigate the barrel. Vernal can tell that is has many markings for 'danger' on it and it has a strange fungal smell. Additional investagation has to wait, however, as enemy approach.
Vernal and Corpus had to be adjacent to the barrel to investigate it. It is, even with it's fall, still sealed.
The two barrel checkers can see skeletons heading for the group. Three with sword, and two with bows.
If you leave the temple, any temple bonus is lost. Initiative rolls are needed for all except Kevoras. The two SS are skeletal swordsmen, they look like they used to be grimlocks. SC is the skeltal commander, likely a duergar in life. The SAs are the archers, and they were once some sort of elf.
