Hi Guys,
I'm new to pathfinder, and I'd like to post on here and get to know everyone, I'm a rather experienced GM, dunno if I'd say I'm any good, anyway I've just started GMing for pathfinder, I like it alot more then DnD so far, to the point where I'm actually laybuying as many books as possible (I have the PDFs for most of them but I wanna support Paizo)
Anyway I noticed there is a lack of classes/races, I have the tome of secrets, core, and advanced playtest class PDFs (my RP store takes about 2 months to order anything in) and I was wondering if there are any more books out there with classes so I can order them now too.
also as a new GM to pathfinder, are there any things I should be aware of that may cause problems...things that are extremely overpowered like the Artificer class are things that I'm talking about.
hopefully I get to meet most of you and ask/answer questions later down the track.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Some fan-created classes can be found
here.Rules elements from the Book of Fiends, Plot & Poison, the various Tomes of Horrors, and Unearthed Arcana have been used in Paizo adventures or setting materials, so you might feel comfortable using any class options from those books (such as the Thaumaturgist, from the Book of Fiends, or the Cloistered Cleric, from Unearthed Arcana).
There are a plethora of 3rd party products that are Pathfinder compatible here.
For example, Paths of Power has five new core classes.
The Lost Classes of Fantasy series has three new core classes.
There's several Genius Guides to various new class options.
The Tome of Secrets and
A Fistful of Denarii seem popular, although I'm not familiar with either.
The Bestiary (available online) has some quick rules for Aasimar, Drow, Duergar, Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kobold, Merfolk, Orc, Svirfneblin, Tengu and Tiefling PCs.
The Qadira companion also introduces a 'half-janni' PC race, in the Suli.

Hello and welcome to the boards. You can find a list of all the Pathfinder compatible publisher are their products here.
Other than the stuff you named, the following companies I all know for sure have stuff in them and are of good quality. I did reviews for a lot of their stuff. 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming, Louis Porter Jr. Design, Otherworld Creations, Reality Deviant Publications, Rite Publishing, and Tripod Machine. Other companies have good stuff as well, but not sure about races and classes. So I would recommend checking them out, reading reviews and deciding which ones you like and give them a try.

Thanks guys,
for both the welcome and the help, I'm gunna go checkout PDFs of everything that you guys have posted, and hopefully I can order them in my local store...Its kinda hard to get RP books in Wagga/Australia.
I do own the bestiary already, and it has been a massive help already, I do have to give props to Paizo for this awesome game.

Wagga Wagga - so good, they named it twice.
Good luck with your Pathfinder game Mitch!

Thanks Moth,
seems like you know a bit bout wagga, are you a local by any chance? I could always do with more players/GMs
Nah mate, only a local on world scale, I'm in Sydney. Been to Wagga once or twice when I was young (had some relatives who used to live around there), seemed like a nice town.

Welcome, Mitch.
***insert stereotypical American comment including one or all of the following: Down under, Crocodile Dundee, Shrimp on the Barbie, rabbit fence, Mate, G'day. Also include, "Does water draining from a container swirl in the opposite direction?"***
...also as a new GM to pathfinder, are there any things I should be aware of that may cause problems...things that are extremely overpowered like the Artificer class are things that I'm talking about.
Nope, not really. Just be careful about what you let in from 3rd edition. Just about every class has been labeled as being under or over powered at one time or the other. The biggest source of complaint (aka "whining") has been with unlimited use of cantrips and osirons. But in practice, it really isn't that big of a deal. It may take some getting used to, that's all.
Good luck with your game, and welcome to the boards.
Jacob.
PS. One note: The board monster has a tendency to eat posts, especially longer ones, so copy/paste longer posts will save you some heart ache.

Well a lot of it is PDF only. Some of it is in print but I can speak to if a store can order them. But as a note if you wanted to order some paizo stuff and then 3pp stuff you could set it all to ship together and maybe save on shipping. I honestly am not sure how international shipping costs work. But if you have a printer and don't mind just printing stuff you can buy the PDF's and save shipping too. Anyways you are welcome and I hope you find some products you like.

I'm a uni student here, it isnt too bad, I'm from a much smaller town called Ungarie.
I origianlly hail from Rosemeadow/Campbelltown though.
Oh, I used to go to school in Macquarie Fields (yeah, I know) many years ago, most of my old gaming group were based around Campbelltown, Rosemeadow, Ruse, Airds etc at one point.

As a general run down of prices, (or atleast the ones I know)
Pathfinder Core $90
Pathfinder Bestiary $65
Tome Of Secrets $60
thats aussie dollars though, if I were to download and print them it would cost roughly $30 per 100 pages (I dont own a printer so i have to commercially print them)
so it is just best if I order them, and suffice with PDFs while i wait, cause I know alot of free pdf sites, I know thats a bad practice, but since I am laybuying the PDFs I have I feel I 'own' them anyway. (or atleast will own them)
The biggest source of complaint (aka "whining") has been with unlimited use of cantrips and osirons.
I noticed the unlimited usage is potentially game breaking...but oh so fun, In a game I am GMing at the moment, one of my players is obsessed with mage hand, I think he would mage hand to eat his rations if I'd let him.
and in a game a friend of mine is running...well
GM: You enter a rather warm room, roughly 40 x 40 ft, in the center you see a pit emanating a red glow that tints the entire room, You can hear scuttling noises in the shadow recesses of the craggy ceiling
Me: That pit, wouldn't happen to be filled with magma of some sort would it?
GM: It would.
Me: well in that case, two birds with 1 stone... *Creates water over pit*
[8 gallons of water, and the resulting cascade of searing steam, later]
GM: .....I hate you....

GM: .....I hate you....
LOL. It does take some getting used to. I really haven't found it to be a problem, tho, definitely not game breaking. The DM just has to take the new abilities of even starting characters into account.
There's been a thread or two about how unlimited Detect Magic "just breaks everything!", when in reality it just requires an adjustment of tactics and challenges.
It reminds me of the ENDLESS kvetching about how "Scry and Die" tactics "completely break the game!" (again), when, in reality, the problem is with unimaginative DMs and players.
Still, my experiences may be atypical. I always seem to luck into good players and DMs.

Hi Mitch, I'm from Brissie and I usually just get all my stuff mail order straight from Paizo. Even with postage it still works out cheaper than I can buy the stuff in stores here thanks to the great exchange rate at the moment. I'm a subscriber and the 15% off all other products helps too of course.

As people have said, the third party stuff is very good, I particularly like:
Super Genius/Otherworld Games: These guys have a lot of fun products including 9 new classes, as well as books of feats and spells. High quality and well-balanced stuff. Highly recommended.
Alluria Publishing: New races. Also seem well balanced. Each one has rules for incorporating them into a campaign. Wide variety of race options covered.
Reality Deviants: Character options. Sorcerer bloodlines, Paladin and Ranger options. Good stuff.
Haven't got a lot of experience with the other 3rd parties, but these guys' are included in my campaigns pretty much as a matter of course.

Welcome to the boards. You will find that it is a great group of people always willing to help if you have questions. +1 on the AP subscription suggestion. The 15% off on everything else is in the store is a great deal. Also, the role playing game subscription gets you the hard cover book + pdf for the same price.
Enjoy

Thanks everyone,
I'll be looking in to all those products now, and I hope to see ya all around some time.
Also, I order the stuff in cause I like to support my local shop, the owner has been awesome for me so far so he gets a great deal of coin from me.
anyway all
Cheers,
Mitch.
Perfectly understandable. I try to buy some stuff from my local store as well. They are just a massive pain to order from and unless it is from a major company I.E. stocked by Diamonds they won't order it. Though I would say half or more of the 3pp stuff is PDF only, more and more of them are adding print options as time goes on. But for now at least half if not more is PDF only.
Also feel free to engage in other topics, it is the best way to get known and often a good way to learn stuff. I tend to learn something fairly often in varies topics. Or if you have questions etc.

Greetings! This board is a great fount of thoughts and ideas, hope it's useful to you...
Even more Third Party Publisher stuff... some of it duplicates to the above, some not, but it is helpful to check the reviews on both as some aren't on both sites.

Hey Mitch, I live in Wagga Wagga and was wondering if you knew of any PFRPG games going on?
Thanks!

Oh hey, yeah - sorry about that, I totally didn't notice that was Tracer's third post.
So, Tracer - It's unlikely (though not impossible) that you'll get a response to this thread, because it's over a year old. The person who started it hasn't posted since December on the boards, so it's really unlikely.
When a thread this old gets revived, it's jokingly referred to as "Thread Necromancy" (bringing the thread back from the dead, haha). Therefore I submitted my standardized response with my "Messageboard Necromancer" alias. I apologize if I scared you, I did not mean any offense/harm.
Your best bet is probably to post in the Gamer Connection subforum. That will give you the best chance of finding someone in your neck of Australia.
And as memorax said, welcome to the boards :-)
