Mathalen - Mathalen's focus on the whip changes her from a normal Monk to a Weapon Adept.
I don't understand why Mathalen uses a whip. Last time I checked, it wasn't a monk weapon. This is particularly important if she becomes a Weapon Adept as she cannot benefit from Perfect Strike.
Or maybe I am missing something

That may have just been a mistake of mine. Change whip to any other monk weapon, preferably one that keeps the Trip ability. The Nine-Section Whip would work perfectly with her.

I was also thinking about using the Nine-Section Whip. Then I read a lot (A LOT) of threads in this forum about the ruling of the Perfect Strike feat (it has a very specific list of weapons it applies to) and got a little scared I might break the game.
In the end I ruled that the feat could only be used with monk weapons that have a critical threat range of 20 (ruling out the 9-s whip) and decided to give Mathalen a home-made weapon consisting of a stick with a curved blade in the end (basically, a kama with a very forced explanation to fit a western setting).

Given the new (out this month) book: Adventurer's Armoury 2, I think it'd make sense for Ermolos to have the necessary feats to improve armour (haven't got the book yet, just read the product discussion), if no-one says the names of the feat(s) I'll put them here when I get the book (in 2 weeks probably), would anyone fit a role of doing the same for weapons or would Ermolos potentially fit into both?
Also I noticed Tarvi has Scrolls of Mage Armour, before she's able to use them, why is this?
