Not much extra to add beyond what I already said earlier. I celebrated the completion of the monks by going to white castle and getting some psuedo-burger comfort food. The walk to work burned off half of that sack, and I'm hoping the walk home will burn off the other half. The only issue I'm having right now is with my laptop charger, as it seems to be on its last legs. Internet research is showing that I need to get another one, as frustrating as that may be. I'm thinking I can use one from another Thinkpad series or something to that effect, but finding even that much might be a bit of a hassle. I'm going to hit up a few shops today, but if neither Radio Shack or the rather shady place down the block has it, I'm going to have to wait a week and a half for a new 'un from either Lenovo or perhaps e-bay. Frustrating, but just another sign that the GWE!!!!! has passed. Either way I'm happy that I posted the Monks this morning when I actually had battery power.

Yikes! That sucks about the charger.

Maybe you can go on some special day. Maybe Thursday?? That's some sort of special day, right? Hmmmmmm????

I never could get the hang of Thursdays.

(It is Towel Day today.)

Newfies are.... different? Special? Let's leave it at that.

Don't tell that to the Charlatans.

Please do. And if you or anyone has any real-life knowledge of any of the styles I listed under inspirations and you feel I've gone off rails or can add more to it, please let me know.

I am stoked about saving up for a laptop; Inspiron 17.

Did you say you were going to have to save up for a year? If so, I'm sure there will be a better one for the same money by then!

I try to pick someplace that's not available to him in his neck of the woods. Last Wednesday, I took him to Max & Erma's. We also stopped by the Armory for dice.

We're most likely to swing up near campus since he's looking for Psych books and the Lane Ave store would be good for him. But I could see us scurrying over to Bethel too. Plenty of choices. :)

Both are great stores. The gaming gear at Lane seems more abundant due to the closeness to campus, but I have always had good luck at Bethel as well. There is also the store at Crosswoods, on High St.

I am trying to think of a location for lunch that is somewhat "Columbus specific" but I am at a loss for the moment. I will think on it some more. Some places would hinge on whether or not Woody likes certain foods.

EDIT: Okay, that was some crazy ghosting, but I think everybody knows the thread of conversation is back there.

I have been wanting to do this as well. You can find some online retailers for custom clothing. But money is definitely the key.

I would not be doing my part if I did not urge you to get a lenovo. Despite the problems I had with my charger, I've never been happier than I am now with my s10(I think they make an s10-3 now).

Well, my ballpark spending figure on a laptop is $1,100 or less. The rest of the money saved for MyrtleCon 2 (plane ticket, food/lodging and spending cash). I'll be saving for 11 months so that I can have the laptop while in Myrtle Beach.

I get $250 a month, but out of that I need to account for Birthdays, holidays and Mother's day. Beween Myrtle Beach and the laptop I'm looking at a total of approxiamately $2,400.

Lenovo is where the thinkpad went after IBM went into torpor. They're a solid company, and they make the bulk of their stuff in China(i.e. you can find economical replacements almost anywhere).

My new desktop - my first desktop ever, after six years of laptops - is a Lenovo and I'm pretty happy with it. Was fairly inexpensive considering (though I got it without monitor and keyboard).

Just had a great geek out moment. The local radio station just had a station Identification come on. It was Anthony Daniels," This is C3po human Cyborg relations and your listening to T-95 where the force Will be with you."

We angered the good doctor. :(

grrrr. and owwwwww. :(

Minor Rant:

Spoiler:
Kidlet had a tantrum on the playground after school and smashed into my chest. Fifth time he's smashed into the cracked rib in three days. I had to pin him to the ground to keep him from hurting me again or any of the other five people in easy reach cause he doesn't notice where he's flailing when he gets going. I was pretty darn gentle about it. He was more surprised than hurt, but of course he screamed bloody murder. And all because I wouldn't let him go play in the sprinkler with his friend. We got it all sorted on the car ride home. I definitely read him the riot act. And then we went over strategies for keeping control of himself when he gets mad. And I made it clear that if he ever threatened me with a tantrum for not getting his way again that he'd be grounded from tv for a month. He was utterly horrified. Yes, kid, sometimes Mommy can be evil. Deal with it. Sigh. I really can't wait for that appointment with the developmental psychologist. I can't remember when that's scheduled. It's still a ways out cause they were booked pretty solid. After the one appointment we'll probably be working with an occupational therapist going forward. Honestly, I could really use the help. I'm reading up on stuff as fast as I can, but there's still so little published on the subject. Anyways, rant done now. Time to get the house cleaned up and then get dinner. Or collapse. Collapsing sounds good. Gaming should be interesting tonight :/

I could, but dissection would be a lot more fun. I have a rusty letter opener and some push pins ready to go.

No, all mammals have hair or fur at some stage of their life cycle. No non-mammals have hair or fur of any kind.

So you can put that rusty bonesaw away.

I see no fur in your avatar picture, unlike mine, which illustrates what a long, luxurious, lavendar scented mane looks like. Your avatar is bald and appears to be made of metal.

Hmmm...mammals definitely don't have metal skin. This only heightens the need to perform a dissection. However, it looks like we also will need a blow torch.

Hey, you could always get him really drunk then see if he'll let you do a deep probe. :P

Got to watch the Thunderbirds practice maneuvers this afternoon. They are getting ready for graduation tomorrow. (It's kind of neat getting a free air show every year.) Taking pictures of fighter planes in flight isn't easy though. My zoom only goes so far and they don't exactly stay still.

Morning folks. It's been an interesting morning so far. Patches (my hamster) somehow managed to get out of his cage and had himself a whirlwind tour of the right wing of our house, it ended when my mom found him in the master bathroom tub which is about the size of a jacuzzi.

Hamsters are ingenious escape artists and surprisingly strong for their size. If there is a way out, they'll find it.
